Power wise or influence wise?

Power wise we're in 5th place on the power pole. Weakest to strongest it probably goes like Lunamon->Auger->Verge->Sparks(+Mech)->Fu->Flame->Gramps

Influence wise I guess you'd be right. Verge is a good mon in everyone's books. He's easily approachable, friendly, fluffy, and overall nice guy. Plus he got some major connections with everyone.

Gramps: Most reliable Mon
Flame: Best Friend
Auger: Digging Buddy and We saved his life(Did we technically save him twice now?)
Fu: Friend and saved her best friend
Sparks: Fellow Hero
Luna: Big Brother
Thresh: Fluff Mountain/Unbreakable chewtoy

Sorry, I deleted my post as I had gotten embarassed as I said about how similar verge is to my mom with a large family and always raising someone.

But yes, I meant more about the soft-power ranking. He is not the big, noticeable target, but he is that one that gets overlooked by enemies as the purple guy heals everyone and all the little verge things he does.

(I didn't add WhiteMage because he's more of a Visitor than a Villager.)
Eh, I dunno. I'd say that in overall power Flamemon's on the same level as Fu or slightly below now. Fu's champion form seems quite impressive, especially her insane beam attacks.

And Flamemon passed Gramps up in power a while ago. It's just that Gramps is really skilled and has a powerful offense and thus is able to beat people stronger than him.

[X] Trying to learn fighting techniques from Flamemon and Gramps (Counts as sparring X3, Learns several new techniques)

32nd-34th days Of Darkness: The Spider-Boys Are In Town! & Flamemon’s Promise
[] The *Kodokugumon* as Gramps called them seem to be getting attached to you and despite the creepiness factor you kind of want to spend some more time with them.
[] Digging. (Acts to relax Verge and lower his stress)

Note: Digging was tied with general playing. I rolled a 1d2 on Discord to see what won and that happened to be digging.

===

Impmon and his partner Monodramon peacefully depart from your village the next morning. Seeing as how they helped save Auger and the others from a certain demise, Gramps was willing to waive the *Debt* they'd wracked up through breaking into the storage hut and eating some of the food. Personally you're not exactly sad to see them go, far from it them leaving is a relief. In truth you'd never particularly liked either of the purple rookies what with the Monodramon assaulting you and then taking Flamemons attention away from you just shrugging off his actions with a two second apology.

Admittedly you hadn't really even spoke to his companion the Impmon in a direct conversation, but he hadn't stopped glowering at you since the Dokugamon incident. You had a feeling that he didn't really like you for supporting Flamemon's choice to spare it.

Though there is one last reason for your opinion. Both of the rookies are wickedly powerful, even if though the Impmon is clearly the stronger of the two and you have no idea why. Your best guess is that they might be special species like Flamemon, but in the end decide to try not to think too much about the subject considering your lack of information.

If the pair had stayed within the village...Well you'd have been worried about what kind of horrible conflict they might have brought, if the powerful rookies had disagreed with Gramps on some other subject. Either way, you're very glad that they're gone. It leaves your mind open to ponder other, more important things. Like why is it that you're always the one attacked by hostile digimon. Sadly you're never able to find a reason for it either.

With the festival so close and your exodus from the village swiftly approaching, there's a lot to do. Despite yesterday's events, Gramps puts everyone right to work in the morning, well everyone except the baby/In-Training digimon and Sorcerymon. Lunamon was his first choice to watch them, but...She rather vocally refused to watch over the "Creepy Spider Things" and thus gets put to work along with everyone else.

Thanks to Fu's evolution making sure the field is fully harvested is difficult. She'd risk accidentally smashing the crops of meat and vegetables instead of collecting them like normal. Instead she's assigned to helping repair bits and pieces of the wall (something she only grudgingly accepts) while you handle the other task with Lunamon. Thanks to the small rookies previous experience, she's actually the one who leads you through the process of properly taking the various crops. Your little sister is stronger than you'd given her credit for even when considering her past ability to drag you along and ends up moving larger batches of crops than you'd thought possible considering her tiny size.

Speaking of the bunny digimon, she's continues to get better at her singing and dancing routine as time passes. By the time she's finished her recital on the third final day before the festival, you're confident that she'll actually able to do her entire performance without any trouble or hiccups whatsoever.

Getting Gramps to go along with letting her perform is actually super easy, barely an inconvenience. During the last evening you walk up to the small red digimon and after gathering your courage ask him if Lunamon can perform during the festival. It turns out, he actually enjoys the thought of something lighthearted to cheer everyone up considering the circumstance and gives the two of you his blessing. Lunamon is of course ecstatic over the news and doesn't stop hugging you until one of the DoKugumon climbs up on your shoulder.

"Graah!"

"Eeep!"

The aftermath of her shriek and reaction leave both you and the In-Training mon soaked, though having her react so strangely to a baby digimon is honestly more funny than anything else.

In other pleasant news, after the recent event of Augers kidnapping Flamemon is finally back to his old happy self. Defeating a villain, saving a friend and managing to get his way in matters of mercy seems to have done wonders for him. No longer is he moping inside his hut pretending to sleep, but rather the fire-type digimon has gotten back to brightening everyone spirits up and training. Not that you get to spend too much time with over the next few days, but he's back to raising morale and helping calm your fears. Even if he doesn't have to do the latter nearly so often as before.

Much like before, he spends most of his time when not working sparring with Sparks Mechanorimon. The Candlemon has covered up the various holes in his robots cockpit with wax, thus allowing Flamemon to actively target the area without worrying about accidentally harming the structure further. Gramps spends a surprising amount some of his free time with them, actively assisting the pair in their training and giving both digimon satchels of their own.

You really haven't spent much time with Sparks, besides playing the occasional game of tag or hide and go seek (The latter of which you're still the king of) but at this point, you do consider him a friend if not a particularly close one. He was paramount in the fight against that Wizardmon and during the recent kerfuffle even saved Lunamon. So of course you're grateful for his actions.

The Choromon finally manages to digivolve during the third morning, becoming some sort of weird pink blob that the villages caretaker dubs a Mochimon. Unfortunately the digimon is still plenty scared of you and refuses to so much as talk in your presence, instead just hiding away behind Gramps. For some reason, that particular move is somewhat familiar though you don't know why. Beyond that he is completely and utterly terrified of the villages newest inhabitants, going so far as to run away screaming whenever he sees one.

Throughout the next few days, you attempt to spend some more time with your siblings, however aside from watching Lunamon perform and the hug you received for getting Gramps permission; you don't have much luck with her. While the *scared* thing she briefly developed seems to have gone away entirely, now there's something new that's forcing the small white mon to keep her distance. That something happens to be the KoDokugumon, as she's developed some sort of spider phobia after being kidnapped by their mother.

Thresh has rather firmly cemented his role as leader of the group and by the second days time, they're now constantly follow him around. The reptile digimon for his part actually loves having a posse to boss around and proudly leads them about the village. It's the most noticeable in two facets, namely mealtime and in *battle* against you. Naturally you're always sure to let them *win* the encounters by pretending to get overwhelmed then collapsing back to lay unmoving on the ground. Listening to their high pitched cries of victory are actually pretty good for relieving stress. Thanks to this, you feel like you're getting to know your little brother more. At this point you do actually like him and no longer feel uncomfortable thinking about him as family. Some of that you feel may be bleeding over to the KoDokugumon, you're not sure but... You think that you may be getting attached to them as well and it's probably the reason as to why you're able to adjust to them so quickly.

Speaking of the half-dozen strange digimon, they've taken fairly well to village life, what with a constant source of food and all. At first, there was a bit of trouble what with their viral instincts and all, but in this case Thresh stepped up to make sure they didn't do any actual damage. Your little brother spent most of the first day when not sleeping *playing* with them. And by that you mean he repeatedly beating them up to let the other In-training mon know that he's in charge. Thresh even managed to stop the half dozen from trying to swarm the friendly Tanemon after it wandered away from a napping Auger to say hello. Not that the Tanemon was actually unsuccessful in the attempt given that one of your new charges seemed more interested in actually trying to play with her, unlike his many brothers.

Not all of your day is spent doing chores however, Gramps lets everyone off for the afternoon and evenings. You end up spending a lot, perhaps two-thirds of your free time with the the little virus digimon who are in turn almost always seem to be under Thresh's watch. Admittedly, a great deal of said time consists of either mock fighting with the seven small digimon as they try their darndest to take you down or serving as a sort of mobile bed as they seem to really like taking naps in your fur. Something you find a bit interesting about these continuous *piggyback rides* is how the swarm and their leader have their own favorite spot. What with thresh standing atop your head while the spiders hang onto various places of your body like your arm, tail, back and in one case a KoDokugumon even likes to hang off of your nose.

Though you swear, sometimes the group just uses your body to get around in a way to circumvent getting tired themselves. Which makes some sense considering that they're young and don't really have much energy. Not that you actually mind it, if anything you finds ferrying them all around to actually be pretty fun. Despite the relatively short period of time, the group actually manages to do quite a lot of rather noticeable things around the village, not all of them good.

Webs start to appear almost everywhere around the place, with the spiderlings (you learnt that word from Sorcerymon) using their silk to make swinging beds both for themselves and for thresh in the villages central tree. They nap in these, whenever they're not curled up in your fur and for the most part sleep there. Thankfully they only try to spin webs in your fur the one time, as Thresh makes it violently clear to them that draping you in webs is not acceptable.

On the third day however Thresh manages to run afoul of Lunamon. Trying to once again nip at her skirt while the KoDokugumon watch. He is then rather immediately blasted with water as punishment and is then forced to sit down while his sister scolds him. Unfortunately for her, this in turn seems to get the KoDokugumon to think she's now their leader and for a few minutes you're greeted with the small spiders bowing to her... Then running after their new *Queen* after she bolts away screaming at the top of her lungs.

During the third afternoon, Flamemon leads the pack on a sort prank spree, laying a number of tripwires across the village and even webbing up Gramps favorite napping spots. While that may have led to your best friend getting zapped by the scarred Elecmon's electricity, the fire digimon seems to find the sight of Gramps stuck to the ground worth the minor amounts of pain.

Besides working and playing you spend the rest of your free time digging which is nice. After everything that's happened just letting go and taking your mind off things was sorely needed. The relaxing business of making tunnels is nice always nice, though Thresh and the spiderling's actually went so far as to turn one of your smaller holes into a small hideout.

Surprisingly, one particular spider digimon that seems slightly larger than the others (the one that hung on your drill) takes an interest in your digging and does his best to copy you. To the point where he quite literally tries to spin his head at the ground in an attempt to replicate how your drill nose works. Never being one to leave a potential digging bro behind, you happily come by and teach him how to dig properly using his relatively sharp appendages. The spiderling is quite happy once he manages to make a small burrow of his own and celebrates by hugging your face. Or trying to bite you, you're really not sure.

From that point onwards, that specific KoDokugumon makes a habit of specifically curling up by your face at night. Normally you think you'd be freaked out about something like that, but for some reason it turns out to be surprisingly nice. Maybe it's the fact that Flamemon will be leaving soon, but you kind of throw yourself into interacting with the small In-Training mon.

No two of the brothers seem to be exactly the same, though variance is in more than just size. One of them seem to really, really like being Thresh's subordinate and in meals actually goes so far as to offer tribute to his leader in the form of meat from his own bowl of stew. Another seeming more feisty than the others, picking a fight with Thresh at nearly every turn and of course losing every single time. From what you're able to tell These two are also the most devious and are largely responsible for the worst traps laid about the village.

Next up, another seems to be taking after Lunamon surprisingly, trying to copy her *Dance* with mixed results. Mostly it just consists of him waving his forward arms up into the air, then sidestepping back and forth. Lunamon is of course not amused in the slightest by this, but she's too scared to come close and ask the little guy to stop. This one also turns out to be the most friendly, actually spending time with that Tanemon and playing what you think is tag with it.

The final two are the most industrious and prove responsible for vast majority of the webbing around the village. They seem to like spinning webs absolutely everywhere and anywhere they can. Surprisingly this actually helps fix the wall a bit, by helping keeping the many fixes in place. Of these two, one seems to enjoy hanging around Sorcerymon and gawking at his wears, while the other seems intent to copy Gramps and Auger by napping even more than the others.

All in all, you actually like the little guys and are very surprised by just how fast they seem to be developing. You chalk it off on them just being some sort of weird species and decide to leave it at that.

===

Late on the third night, Flamemon invites you to come train one on one with him for a final time and at this point refusal doesn't even cross your mind. Your best friend will be leaving the very next day so there's no way you'd even think about refusing. Soon after leaving the village, the two of you are once again sparring atop the grassy hill just like old times. He still holds back something fierce just like the previous time meaning the session is more about pushing your limits rather than his.

Something that surprises you, is that by now when standing up on your hind legs, you're actually a little bit taller than your best friend and much more stocky. You've grown a lot in the past month, though that doesn't actually mean you're stronger than him.

However as the minutes roll on by, you cannot help but feel as if there's something is off with your best friend. For the first few minutes you try to ignore his occasional frown and sad look, but eventually it gets too much to leave alone. So, after you've tired yourself out trying to hit him and regain your breath, you manage to gather the courage to ask about it. You get a feeling that he didn't strictly bring you here to just train

"Flamemon, wha-what's wrong?" Your best friend looks hesitant to answer your question but after a few seconds takes a deep breath and replies.

"Verge I-" The humanoid rookie scrunches his nose and closes his green eyes clearly not liking how he started his sentence. He lets out a cough before trying again. "I'm strong now but-" He begins, looking away from you to stare off towards the setting sun. "-It's not enough. Fu, and Gnaw they've both digivoled and yet." Your best friend grits his teeth angrily, before reaching up with a hand to rub at his face. "I've stayed the same." Water begins to build up in the rookies eyes, but he shakes his head to get rid of them. "We've been left behind Verge."

He's... He's really worried about digivolving huh?

Personally you'd never really worried about the subject. If anything, you actually enjoy being a rookie since if you evolve you might become something that can't dig very well.

"It-It's okay Flamemon" You say, raising a paw and tentatively put it on his shoulder. "You'll evolve soon I'm s-sure of it!" For a moment the humanoid mon looks at you in surprise, then he begins chuckling uncontrollably.

"Hehe, look at you trying to cheer me up for once" He raises his opposite hand and returns the gesture. "Verge, I'd never tell Saprks this but... After everything that's happened, I've been doubting myself" Despite his words the rookie gives you a happy grin. "I failed my code repeatedly, I lost to a villain but in a fight but, yesterday. Yesterday I succeeded." His voice begins to rise up, as he puts more oomph into his words "I will be the hero I've always pictured even if it'll be harder than I thought. You have my word here and now Verge! No matter what happens I refuses to change!"

"Tha-that's good?"

"Indeed it is!" Flamemon vigorously agrees. "Tomorrow, I'm going to join the blessed host but worry not! I shall not stay there forever!" He steps back from the *embrace* one hand moving down to rummage through the satchel Gramps had given him. The next moment he pulls out a strange looking metal medallion with a symbol of the sun emblazoned upon it.

"Sorcerymon delivered this unto me for joining his cause, but I want you to have it" The rookie states. "I knows that you look up to me Verge, almost like how others see the sun. So take this and remember me." Flamemon shoots you a wink. "One day after I get strong enough, I'll leave the host to be a hero on his own. I swear that when that day comes! I want you to be with me. Together with Sparks we'll be the greatest three heroes the world has ever seen!"

Tears come unbeckoned to your eyes as his speech finishes and after a few seconds you:

=== Choose One: (Note changes main goal entered around Flamemon)

That was fun. Also I love the little gremlins they seem like so much fun. Especially with Boss Thresh.

I just personally like this one the most. Plus it maybe useful for fighting his fears or controlling his Wrath.

To fearful to fight a powerful foe than remembers he promised to be a hero so he stands up and fights or He goes on a rampage and recalls that isn't what heroes do so he reins himself in.

Edit: Vote Change
Double Edit: Came back to Hero for charater development.

So that when the day comes that , when he give that call. Not only you, but a host who share your views will band together to join him as a host of heroes!

I hope you don't mind this write in, if you veto it I'll just go with the singular version of this. I just feel that with Verge's dedication to his family, it would be unlikely that he sets off completely on his own and that he may well gather more people that he care about in his future journeys as he has done with the KoDokugumon.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to join the blessed host but worry not! I shall stay there forever!"

On another note, I think "I shall stay there forever!" should be I Shan't, or will not since Flamemon later promises to meet up with Verge again in the future. I thnk, sorry if I just misread.

As while this quest won't be a city builder, I can easily see this being a thing Verge would want to do. Since it helps honor all his goals and is something I can easily see being a dream job for our mon.

Allowing us a path that we could enjoy and use to support our friends and family.

@Todorius

Sorry. Not really going to work. Verge isn't really the type to spread the heroism around. Not at this juncture anyway.

Shame, then I'll change to:

[X] Promise that when the day comes. When he returns to give the call, you will be strong to follow him. No to join him as another hero. You've never had the desire to personal ambition for it, but... You'll force yourself to do it for your best friend.

@Ironforge

Great write in. Good job.

===

So, for the whole naming the spiders thing, I was thinking of having Verge give them each a nickname on the day of the festival. (AKA tomorrow) and am open to potential suggestions.

Ok, here is a few basic ones then. Hope this can help get the ball rolling.

Big one = Digger
Prankster = Joker
Builder = Webber
Napper = Dreamer
Minion = Shadow
Luna's Fan = Prancer

[X] Write in: You cant promise him you'll be the hero he wants you to be, so many things can happen, so many things have happened. But you can promise that when the time comes, should he need help, youll stand at his side.

I dont want verge being pressured into a role he has no inclinations for or desire to pursue. We've seen that things can be morally grey and verge is willing to do things to protect his family that go against flamemons path. I dont want verges future being either minion, or following a role he never wanted. He would end up being resentful of flamemon in the end.

If verge becomes a hero/paragon of truth? Great.

But the digital world is quite large and I want verge to discover his own dreams and goals rather then throwing himself into Flamemons dream.

He is an idol and friend, but we also have more responsibilities then him now.

    [X] Write in: Promise him that you will hold down the fort and that you will create some place he and the others could call home. As while you can't ever see yourself being the hero that Flame could be, you know and feel like you could be the one to make a home for him and all those he helps. Because even heroes need somewhere they can rest and call home and you want to do gramps proud as his successor.
    [X]"You cant promise him you'll be the hero he wants you to be, so many things can happen, so many things have happened. But you can promise that when the time comes, should he need help, you'll stand at his side. "
    [X] Promises that when that day comes you'll be useful, but you can't promise you'll be able to join him as a hero. He's just so much stronger and more talented than you are. Still, even if it's not as a hero you'll at the very least be a helper, you refuse to be a hindrance.
