31st Day Of Darkness: It's Happening Again!

Proud GM
[] Side with Flamemon. You don't like letting this thing go, but… You're not going to side against your best friend here. Plus it may actually keep its word and change its way.
===
You look between the two conflicting digimon and then decide to raise your voice to support Flamemon's side of things. Despite the Dokugamon being responsible for all of your current injuries, you couldn't just agree with resigning another digimon to cold hearted deletion, not when it's already beaten.
Well, it could be lying but I'm... I'm not going to side against Flamemon.
"I-" You cut off your shaky words with a slightly pained cough. "-I agree with Flamemon. We shouldn't... If it's telling the truth, then deleting it would be wrong."
"Yes! That is correct Verge. As Heroes we must be merciful as well!" Your best friend nods, flashing you a happy grin for supporting him.
For a moment Impmon lowers his gloved hand, seemingly convinced to stand down by your comments. Then he lets out an amused snort and shakes his head, fire roaring to life in the palms of his hands.
"Why would I evuh listen to de words of lowuh beings like- "
Whatever he was about to say is cut off as the Dokugamon shifts in place.
"Poison Thread!"
The Champions attack nets him mid-speech, carrying him back and webbing him against the nearby wall.
I-it can still attack?!
You flinch back at the display, getting ready to move in case it targets you next, however the large spiderish mon doesn't attempt to continue attacking. Instead the large digimon bursts into motion, scuttling towards the the exit with speed that seems directly counter to the pitiful weak state it seemed to be in moments prior. The other rookies let out various cries of surprise at the older digimon's sudden flight, but Sparks is the only one who truly reacts, tossing a small ball of fire, though that misses by several feet.
That-it... Was that entire caretaker thing an act?!
Flamemon raises a hand into the air, forming an attack of his own, but he hesitates in throwing it for a split second, and in that time the Dokugumon scurries off through the initial tunnel and out of sight. He doesn't chase after it either, merely staring with slight shock as the digimon he'd saved runs without even a single thank you. The fact that the digimon is now effectively abandoning its children is a chilling, anger inducing fact.
It's really just leaving them?
In the direct aftermath, Lunamon hops over and hits you with a leaping hug, sobbing about how grateful she is for you coming to save her. The rookie's action is something that proves to be more painful than normal, considering that it forces some weight on your wounded leg. Still, you swallow back the cry of pain, try not to think about the faint crushing sensation and focus on comforting your little sister.
Off to the side, Sparks is congratulated by Flamemon for his *heroic* acts in breaking free and saving Lunamon. Though when asked about the subject, the Candlemon is adamant that he made sure to deal with the baby digimon in a non-lethal matter.
The Impmon manages to break free from his bonds bit later and after seeing that his quarry is gone spends the next few minutes glaring towards yourself and Flamemon. While he doesn't say anything untowards about what happened, you have a feeling that he blames you for letting the enemy champion get away. Something that raises a tinge of guilt because, well... he's not exactly wrong.
Auger and the Monodramon are dragged together near the still ongoing pillar of flame whereas you begin administering Gramps' Antidotes to everyone. While the Impmon initially refuses, a sudden bout of painful coughing gets him to reconsider in short order. Next, with Lunamons help, the two unconscious rookies are sprayed with water and woken up from their forced slumbers. Sadly you can't actually heal either of them or yourself anymore, so everyone is just left in their current states.
Still, with the two foreign digimon now awake, you take the opportunity to ask them what the *Evil Digimon* even did.
"Doan know and doan care" the Impmon spits with a shrug. Thankfully the Monodramon is a bit more informative.
"That villainous Dokugamon deleted eleven working rookies in hub city" He supplies, somehow still acting cheery despite his target escaping. "At least that's what my uh, investigations! Concluded before us allies of justice were assigned to find and defeat it!" He pauses for a second, as if realizing something, and then turns to his parnter. "Hey! Impmon! We managed to beat it! Doesn't that mean we fulfilled our orders from Anu-"
"Shaddup!" The thinner rookie snaps, "We ain't supposed tuh tell nobody about that."
Tell us about what?... I think that's the second time he cut him off from saying the rest of *Anu*. Are they talking about a digimon?
You contemplate asking them about it, but after a moment's thinking shake your head. Truthfully you don't particularly like either mon, and meddling in their business might only make them stay longer.
Flamemon on the other hand seems bafflingly happy about potentially interacting with them more in the future, and actually invites them back to the village for supper. The Monodramon accepts, both for himself and for his companion who only grudgingly agrees.
"Umm guy-fellow Heroes?" Sparks says in a slightly higher than normal voice. "I think the other eggs hatched." His words are followed by a mass of chittering sounds as a swarm of small digimon a half dozen strong emerges into the light. Then as one they, turn to face you.
Not again.
"Eep!" Lunamon squeals, quickly ducking behind you as the mass of baby digimon advance.
"F-Flamemon help!" You shout, turning towards your best friend for help. He firmly meets your gaze with a smirk.
Please no.

Darnit!
This... This really isn't how you expected to spend your afternoon. That is, having your body playing host to a half dozen tiny digimon, each of which are desperately trying to do their very hardest to delete you. Sure, at worst their constant bites and jabs make you feel ticklish, but having a bunch of creepy crawly things nibbling at your unmentionables is more than a little uncomfortable. Thankfully your thick fur and tough skin prevents them from actually hurting you.
In a way it's almost like what Thresh did when he met you, just multiplied tenfold and carried out by beings more terrifying than he ever was.
You don't know why, but for some reason out of everyone standing in the cave, they'd decided that you were the best target. On the other paw you're at least comforted by that fact that Lunamon is never going to try and adopt these ones into your little family. Judging by the wide berth she's giving you and the freaked out glances, she's not a particular fan of these digimon.
At the very least you don't have to spend the journey back with a broken leg. Sorcerymon had been quick to intercept your party as they left the cave, or to be more accurate you found him helping peel off the mass of webs stuck to Fu's face.
Of course, the digimon trying to attack you are still babies and eventually they do get tired. Which naturally leads to the many small digimon snuggling up into the fluffy fur on your back and then falling asleep.
Much to your (internal) displeasure, Sparks, Sorcerymon and Mondoramon spend the entire time swapping tales about their fights and adventures. The Impmon in your party doesn't seem to like his friend being monopolized either, given how he just sullenly walks far off to the group's side.
The only ones who actually talk with you are Auger and Fu, the former who thanks you for saving his life while the latter makes it clear that you should be glad that you were able to fulfill her request. Though despite the bravado, you're pretty sure she's just trying to hide her happiness and relief behind bluster.
When you finally do get back to the village, Gramps is glad to see that everyone returned in one piece. On the other paw he's most certainly not enthused about having to suddenly take in the half-dozen violent baby (or would they be in-training? They were just born but the development of their limbs is unlike any baby you've seen. Man, what a weird species.) digimon that came in on your back. Not that he hasn't dealt with their kind before, but they very much outnumber the more peaceful infantile digimon currently in the village.
First however, he makes sure they won't run away and end up getting themselves deleted. He accomplishes this by waking them up and feeding the horde a very large piece of meat from the garden. Much like Thresh's display during his first day, they brutally rip and tear the food asunder. From there he orders Auger to keep the Tanemon with him at all times, while he explains he'll be doing the same for the only remaining fresh digimon in the village. The Choromon still hadn't evolved yet, but the red rookie believes it's only a day or two away from achieving its next evolution.
You try to volunteer to do the same thing with Thresh, but your *little brother* has different ideas of how to handle things. By that you mean he actually attacks the other In-Training mon the very moment he spots them. The full, slightly drowsy mon don't stand much of a chance even with a numbers advantage. If anything that makes things more unfair when he picks one up with his mouth and uses that to actively beat its siblings. By the time their *scuffle* is over the beaten digimon are deferring to him, as in literally bowing before him.
For that reason, you don't think you'll have to worry about his safety.
Monodramon volunteers to watch over the baby spider digimon for the afternoon, while Impmon and the others disperse to do their own things.
That night supper is more eventful even than you ever imagined it could possibly be. With everything that's happened recently there's a lot to talk about as nearly everyone wants to tell their tale of how things went down. Beyond that, Flamemon still doesn't pay you much attention as he and Sparks are still getting really friendly with the Monodramon. It… honestly hurts more than you're willing to admit. At the same time, you also don't want to be seen as clingy, so you just kind of sit there in an awkward depression. Your only consolation is that the two make it clear that they'll be leaving in the morning.
=== For the next three days leading up to the festival: (Choose Two)
[] Digging. (Acts to relax Verge and lower his stress)
[] Trying to learn fighting techniques from Flamemon and Gramps (Counts as sparring X3, Learns several new techniques)
[] You haven't spent that much time with Sparks, perhaps in the next few days before the festival you could try to interact with him more.
[] Gramps is once again preparing for the festival, but you're curious about something. The "Ten" he keeps on invoking.
[] Now that the fighting is over you'll spend some time taking it easier. Play some games with the rest of the village's inhabitants and try not to worry too much about anything vital.
[] The *Kodokugumon* as Gramps called them seem to be getting attached to you and despite the creepiness factor you kind of want to spend some more time with them.
=== Stat Increases (Sorry I forgot to include special and Spirit increases last time)
Authors Note: To explain what happened in full in case it's not clear. The Dokugamon played up on the whole caretaker aspect as a means to try and escape deletion, along with pretending to be near deaths door instead of just horribly wounded. Then once an opening appeared it struck and ran the heck away. While she did want to make it's *Kids* evolve via loading the village's rookies, she cared about her own life a lot more. Thus she ran away. If Verge had chosen to side with Impmon, then Flamemon would have been much more distracted and attacked instead. Which would have led to Impmon attacking and deleting it.
