I just... I can't alright!? Look at it! Look at it's silly ass hat! And it's toy primary weapon! I get it's powerful but... I . I much prefer the alternative it at least looks like something that can be taken seriously
Eh I've seen the worse offender of the spirit warrior so it doesn't bother me at all. Look up Daipenmon.
Depends on how the fight goes.

Verge can do scary now without trying what do you think he can do if he actually starts trying? If it is as one sided as people suspect with us tearing her wings off and leaving her at the brink of death with some kind of "No. not yet not today. I want you to feel this . The little Drimogemon you failed to kill is now stronger then you. I've killed the count I've killed everyone else. So run Repulsa run and hide live in fear. Because you will die there is no mon on this server that can save you No place out of my reach. Live as your victims live. Die as they do"

Something like that combined with crushing her near to death with his Aura after weakening her to that point.

that'd get her to wake up in a cold sweat.
His aura only really scares those stages below him and holy digimon. She's a member of the gloaming she's probably seen some shit and is a lot harder to intimidate/ mentally scar. She's a mentally twisted mon who I'm not sure can be scared into such a state. I'm I am wrong and Drexel is going a role reversal route and becomes a mess barley able to function then great but given how twisted these mon are I doubt it.

*Sigh* Fire and Light get all the good shit.

The thing is it will not crush those of equal standing to him but being beaten maimed to near deletion with the other mon standing above you your wings in hand suffocating you with his power and promising you death at a later date? That sticks with people regardless of how evil they are.

arguably evil people are even more susceptible to this. they build themselves up by being superior and inflicting this on others. Being crushed and then dismissed by someone that was a rookie for you a very short time ago but is now an Ult stronger then you after acquiring a legendary artifact? That is rather painful. Especially if he rubs that failure in her face.

but then again let's not count our chickens before they hatch. we have no idea what she's operating at right now or what she has available to her or what allies she will have around her and the time we encounter her.

Speaking of spirits do you think we're likely to see the other thunder spirit warrior at the tournament? He just sort of vanished and became a none entity after getting his butt kicked. If not him then this seems like the type of thing we might see the spirit of light at, fighting for money and prizes.

Horrifiying thought I just had. If Agnimons core data is part of Repulsa, and it's incomplete or damaged, does that mean his reincarnation is going to be part Repulsa too?

Since it would need more data to be complete and being a part of either her Frame or Core data would mean taking some that in to complete itself.

I don't think it works like that, if he's missing enough core data to the point where its not stable on it's own I don't see how ripping the data from an entirely different species would stabilised said core ( if it did work like that I get the feeling the Host would have tired it on their leader ages ago). Maybe you could get said data from a mon using the fire spirit or the spirits themselves but even then I am doubtful it will work.

[] It won't bring Agnimon back, however his reincarnation… would be better off with you than some random tree of rebirth. When the time comes, use the space-time stone to capture her..

You ponder Sparks' request and the extended ramifications of it for some time, at least by the standards of your accelerated thought processes. The revelation of Repulsa's presence at the tournament turns your mind towards vengeance. Tearing Agnimon's murderer asunder has been one of if not the largest driving force of your existence. And with Count deleted, only she and to a lesser extent Musyamon are left.

Sparks' request to merely capture here would normally be unthinkable, but with the revelation of Repulsa holding Agnimon's core data… you actually find yourself weighing the possibility. Your friend and mentor is forever gone, that's a fact you've resolved to carry. However the matter of his reincarnation changes things immensely. Up until now you'd assumed that Agnimon had reincarnated somewhere else and started a new life. However if Sparks' assumption is correct you could free his core data and raise the reincarnation in a suitable environment.

A battle is waged in the confines of your mind. Raw need for revenge, against logic, sentimentality and your own personal desire for victory at Malkimon's tournament.

Two minutes and five seconds pass before you finally come to a decision.

… when the time comes I can always delete a captured Repulsa. And this way Frigimon is still able to get the best possible assistance. Vengeance will have to… wait.

Waiting… your life Always seems to return to that. First it was waiting until you digivolved to champion so you could stand a chance against Count's servants. Then Ultimate so you could defeat the Gloaming Lord himself. Saving Thresh from execution and being with him meant joining Bulwark, thus forestalling your vengeance against Repulsa.

This… this is just one more delay in a long line of delays.

No matter.

"I will… do as you ask." Sparks begins to grin, but you quickly continue to stop a misunderstanding from occurring. "But not at the tournament. Later, once Bulwark makes its official move against The Gloaming."

"Tch… if ya really want to win it that badly, then fine." The Wisemon shrugs, though his aura flares notably in annoyance. "Friggen' battle junkies."

He's… assuming my main motive is pride?

"I have an-" Is as far you get before Sparks' snaps his fingers.

And suddenly your feet are undergoing that horrible warping sensation.

=

You hit a metal floor feet first a moment later, and find yourself in a familiar surrounding. Namely, the Flux Mountain base's gym. Sparks is nowhere to be seen or felt, and you can't help but frown at how that conversation ended.

These revelations have been affecting him more in a… concerning fashion. He's grown distant.

Something you'll have to fix. The Wisemon may be rude, crude and suffer from strange proclivities, he's still your closest friend. Your current equilibrium cannot continue, you will not allow it to.

"V-Verge?!" Said line of thought is abruptly cut ended as you whirl on the room's sole other occupant. Lady Ardat. The LadyDevimon gets over her shock quickly, and immediately stops her pulldown exercises so she can rush over.

Only, instead of going for the uninvited embrace like you would have expected, the womon drops to her knees in front of you, crosses her hands together (oversized claws over the normal one) and presses her forehead against the floor.

… huh?

You stare down at her exaggerated bow blankly, utterly baffled by the display.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry Verge, I was wrong!" Your friend shouts, craning her head back as to look up at your ankles. "We-I should never have tried to set you against Thresh like that, please forgive me!"

By The Great Tree! What happened while I was away?!

===AN: Aaaaand, here's part of the next update. Still got a lot left to write, but this was a good stinger to leave off on.

Thresh really did a number on her didn't he?

Well at least her hubris hath laid her low, the only way to go from here is up!

Oh

Ohhhhhhhh

Verge Told Frigimon that Ardat "manipulated him" to like her more. Frigimon sent a letter, Ardat assumed she's talking about trying to make Verge jealous using Thresh instead of the Mind Mojo

I wonder if Thresh like will ever get out of this stage. I always think he will be an annoying gremlin but the thing is there are only three people who actually like him and they are Verg, Luna and his squire.

If he manages to hit a knight evo? That sort of personality bleed should temper his bad tendencies a least a little bit. Even Darkdramon would make him less of a weirdo.

Consider he spent most of his life under the count is basically just a weapon. I think he's slowly coming around with his squire being his first non family friend. People change slowly and Thresh is more of a learn by practicing sort of person.

she might not enjoy being around him but I think he's probably learned a lot by being around her

The real sad thing is even if Ardat learnt her lesson there is nothing she can really do now except try and get him to latch onto someone else. He's corrupted and there ain't a way to get rid of that.

Why would becoming Darkdramon make him any less of a werido?

He'll just be crazy instead of being a jerk. Which might be fun.

14th of Wood: *Dates* & A Challenge
"I-uh… very well? You are forgiven..." You stumble through the sentence, but Ardat doesn't seem to care. Your lady sits back on her heels with a deep sigh of relief.

"We thank you for that knight. I… I thought trying to make you jealous would bring us closer." She explains ashamedly. "Hurting you was not my desire but… It happened anyway. And for that you have our sincere and most deep apologies."

"I understand." You murmur back softly. "Frigimon assisted me in understanding the reason behind your actions. It's because you… *like* me as more than a companion."

Ardat blinks. Then her jaw muscles go slack, leaving her gaping in shock.

Is… me realizing her feelings really that surprising? No matter Verge, continue.

"And to be truthful, I believe similar feelings reside within my core, alongside the notion of friendship." Your Lady's shock flips right around to glee… which is why what you're about to follow with is so painful. "Yet I'm also aware those feelings were forced upon me artificially. They're fake." Her happiness turns to despair. "That makes the possibility of anything going forward… difficult."

"We understand." The LadyDevimon's voice is small, her aura wilting in despair. You look at the slumping womon remorsefully. Your words may not have been a direct rejection, but the honest truth has struck her harder than intended.

You sigh and kneel down, pondering how to console her… then freeze as a familiar presence treads the edge of your senses. Ardat sees your reaction and immediately tenses up, her lilac eyes flashing with recognition… and worry.

Five seconds later Thresh stomps in through the sliding doors and raises both arms up high in greeting.

"It's good to have you back Vee." The cybernetically enhanced Demon-Dragon grins at you, seeming… genuinely happy.

"Brother." You return the greeting with a nod and shallow bow. "And it is good to have returned."

I hadn't expected him to be so pleasant. Mayhaps he's changed in the last forty days…

"Hey, pretty lady!" The WarGrowlmon shouts, causing Ardat to flinch. "It's time for another date!" You frown at that, while Ardat scurries behind you as if your body is some sort of protective shield.

"Our courtship has come to an end." She announces… though the sure tone is kind of ruined by the fact that she's peeking out at him from from behind your leg. "No longer will this server's future empress be… stabbed, or stomped on repeatedly!"

Stabbed?! Stomped on?! Spirits below.

"I… would ask what your courting entailed."

"It's fun stuff Vee." Your brother replies, cockily stomping closer. "She wasn't that good at it at first, but uh hmm… the giant hand thing of her is pretty fun to fight and she's gotten better at it." The BlackWarGrowlmon looks up for a moment, tapping one pendulum blade against his chin. "She cut off my arms a few times, and did a neat thing where my skin fell off."

… you're not sure if his enthusiasm of the subject is disturbing or not. You've had both those things happen to you after all, but… it's not something you're proud of.

"We-I was defending myself Verge!" The LadyDevimon protests. "He was beating us up at the time!"

… why does that make me want to chuckle-Focus.

"And you could not refuse his requests to spar?"

"... Leopardmon said it was mandatory." She explains, her voice low enough to be only barely audible.

"Yup." Thresh nods. "The boss said it was something about… lesses… and… quenceconses."

"Lessons, and consequences?"

"Yeah, sure, that." He huffs, now annoyed for some inexplicable reason.

No matter. Hrm… then, it must have been a punishment so she could learn not to manipulate others. Wisely done, although... mayhaps too far. Hold, is that also the reason for Thresh's shift in demeanor?

"Brother, I've noticed a lack of antagonistic behavior in this conversation."

"Uh, that means… oh. Gyuhuhuhu." The Cyborg perks up with a low chuffle. "The boss told me I was…" He pauses, considering what words to use. "Focused on you and your reactions. What was it again?... Making you angry is fun but that shouldn't be all I do." The Demon-Dragon nods to himself. "My squire suggested I be… knightly, and that seems neat."

Interesting, and a much more positive outlook.

"I see, that-"

"Plus my squire makes fun of you so I don't have to now!" Your sibling continues, ruining the respect he'd earned. "Gigigigi, oh yeah ExVeemon. Your student beat him up really hard. Whats did you teach him to? I'd ask, but that'd be beneath my diggity."

"... the word is dignity, of which you possess none."

"... I'm membering why I found you annoying."

"Remembering. I would also state that proper vocabulary and grammar are not annoying." The two of you fall into a mutual glare, which lasts until Ardat coughs.

"Just to be clear Chevalier Thresh. Our courtship is over. I received my knight's forgiveness, which was Leopardmon's condition." Thresh opens his mouth to object, but doesn't quite manage to speak before a spark is lit behind his eyes.

Oh no.

"Ahem. Shaverlayer Verge! I Shaverlayer Thresh of Bulwark do hereby challenge you to a drool… ahem, a dual for the right of the pretty lady Ardat's courtsership!"

Rgh… words… hurt… me…

Hold Verge. He… just challenged you to a duel!

"I have no intention on losing our next fight." You growl back, though the outburst of anger is short-lived.

Peace Verge. Do not rise to the taunting.

"Yes, that's rights Vee! I might as well get her when I crush you in the toury-mint! Then it'll be two wins to your one and I'll get your Lady! Gyuhuhuhu!"

The surge of indignation and thrill of challenge fade away as you look at his laughing form. This entire thing is far too Rookie-like for you to take seriously. And it's not as if he can control Ardat to make her agree to this.

Resisting the urge to sigh again, you look down to Ardat ready to assist her in denying the challenge.

… why are her eyes gleaming? By the Ten no. She's excited over this. Did… did she not learn her lesson?

As much as she didn't enjoy the experience clearly from those gains it was a good experience for her .

Thresh has calmed down a degree . Even if now his poor squire is probably a bit more well Threshy. Though it looks like his grammar will never truly improve. And trying to correct it only angers him.
