Hmmm I think the votes a bit problematic if unintentionally ? Yes it's a trope, 2 guys fighting over girl and all that, except in this case ardat has made it explicitly clear shes not interested and thresh is treating her as a prize/item to be won rather then her own person and ardat seems ok with it which is uhhhhh...yeahhh....
I get hes under mental influence (iffy consent issues abound)
And shes kind of romanticizing the whole two dudes fighting over me.
But it kind of negates the whole point of her apology and theme of the chapter when it started with "I'm sorry for trying to manipulate you and learned it is wrong" and ends on "but ok fight for my love"
Right after verge just told her I have feelings for you but they arent true cus they are forced. And thresh straight up cant consent cus hes that dumb and being mind warped.
Like..theres a lot of problematic stuff here man.
Even if thresh verge want to do a whole brotherly manly rival fight, that's fine. But under the pretext of dueling for ardat just adds another iffy layer and complication for the already heavy plot thread tourney arc incoming.
If you want to stack more reasons for verge to try and win this shouldnt be one of them

it's just a pretext he would have wanted this fight regardless. even if he were to win I don't think he would really care all that much and would ust let it go. He just wants to fight and he wants verge to take it seriously and with everything he's got.
there's nothing iffy here this is just thresh being thresh.

This vote isn't about dating, at all. Thresh is being incredibly childish, and his idea of "courtership" is a sparring partner he can call on when he's bored. Not Romantic In The Least.
He's again, trying to goad Verge here.

Oh then I am not changing my vote, Verg being a reasonable and also getting the chances to wack Thresh in the face really hard later on anyways sounds wonderful to me.

Yeah that's why I said it was unintentional. I def get the chapter was supposed to be comedic but the themes kind of jumped around these last few updates from lighthearted training the kids, to full on horror show fridgmon ptsd torture, and ardat mental influence has always been a barrier between her and verges relationship as well as the thread I think even if the thread likes her.
So like, on one hand yeah thresh is still a childish dude trying to fight his older brother etc. I think that can def be fine, but with the seriousness of the apology , Ardat realizing she kind of messed up, and verges confession that he does have feelings for her but they arent his own and it's something they should talk about, kind of gets derailed by suddenly mentally warped thresh going all "MINE, MY LADY, HAHAHAHAH IM HERE TO TROLL YOU LULZ"

ehh I think it's fine. Thresh is kinda a wrecking ball and it makes sense for him to come in wreck a personal moment have his thing with Verge and then swing back out.
maybe just have a moment in the next update to continue what was going on before Thresh came in. Because I think they are kinda used to him now.
Hmm if proto alphamon is there I wonder if we'll make if far enough to have a rematch. We could be knocked out or someone might realise what she's been doing and some how miraculously find a way to deal with it. She's the one I want to fight the most that doesn't involve hatred or spite.

[X] Accept it. You're going to defeat Thresh in any case, and this should stop him from bothering Ardat.
Cjdav has a good suggestion... one of the bigger problems with this is framing and quite a bit of the extra context anyway.
Parden me if this is toe stepping but though I'm in favor of Declining I'm getting the impression that the main opposition to it is in many ways because of reasons you didn't expect ... which is completely fine mind you and I'm more than happy to be told I'm wrong, I know its happened to me on the other end of things quite often.
In other qyestions would this be Ok for a write in.
"Thresh if you wish to have tiebreaker fight all you need to do is not lose in the tournament until we hit the same bracket."
or
"Thresh we don't have control over the tournament brackets.... besides as neither of us would throw a fight we would have to end up facing each other to win regardless of any deal we make."

Fan club probably no. If it gets out that he has taken a disciple (Boy) you'll probably get mom lining up to ask for training ( possibly with Boy trying in vain to talk them out of it . And his insistence actually inspiring more people to sign up)

Actually I'd argue he would have a large fan base at this point. Remember verge has the tourney game which was broadcast , then he has his music and poem sessions and I believe his fight with monkey dude was recorded? Not to mention both his sons are famous tourney gladiators in that location there is no doubt they went "that's my dad" when the partially inclined populace watched the fighting.
The one really good thing about this tourney is the population is gladiator /fighting types who verge would both respect and attract to himself later on when he opens up his own school
I don't think it was or if it was it wasn't broadcasted otherwise we'd have been chewed out by Fu for taking on another mega. Also whilst he had recording equipment I don't think it would have stood up to the clash of two mega level attacks ( not sure there is much that can do that to begin with).

Since we've got training plans coming up, I guess I'll update everyone on how many Talent increases we've gotten total since hitting Ultimate.
Strength: B+++ -> A+ (2 tiers)
Fortitude: B+ -> A (3 tiers)
Endurance: B++ -> A (2 tiers)
Agility: B -> B++ (2 tiers)
Special: B+ -> A (3 tiers)
Spirit: C++ -> B++ (4 tiers)
Also, the Talents that ranked up the longest ago are Strength and Fortitude. Special and Spirit ranked up from the Apollomon incident while Endurance and Agility ranked up from training afterwards.
