There's little time to react as Aegiochusmon simultaneously pulls and punches. With your arm locked in place by his suddenly heightened strength, extending it to gain distance is unfeasible at best. However you can lever your shoulder.
For once in this battle your greater size actually proves a boon as you straighten out into a *prone* position just as his fist makes contact. His gauntlet tears a furrow right through your cuirass, and scrapes painfully against your flesh, but that is the damage's full limit.
A monstrously potent beam of concentrated lightning shoots from his fist, passing right under your torso before flying off into the distance.
I cannot bite, so I will strike.
You pull your head back, while the Godling clicks his teeth. Then while he starts up another gesture you kick and pull in the same motion.
*Crunch*
Your head-protector smashes into his face with the all the power of a dozen charging Locomon, shattering his half-mask, and crushing his nose.
The Godling's grasp vanishes as he's flung back, one hand going up to cradle his smashed face.
"You dare to-" The snarl is cut off as he blinks, aura flaring in surprise. "That symbol... How is it that one such as you bears the mark of Diana?" Now it's your turn to blink in confusion.
The mark of Diana? What does-focus Verge!
Pondering his words can come later, for now you have to win this engagement. So with a shrug, you channel energy down to a set of claws and focus on restarting the coding commands.
Razor Wind!
Aegiochusmon crosses his arms again as the attack streaks towards him, summoning up a barrier of lightning-that lasts for less than a second before your attack cuts its way through and his bracers are forced to block the wind-blade directly. His sudden disrtraction gives you leave to kick off the air again, soaring back towards the primitive skyscraper.
"What the-my divine bracers should be all but impenetrable!" The Godling's voice bellows as you get into cover. "An attack from one such as you shouldn't have so much as scratched them!"
Then my wind attacks are capable of harming him… my thanks Lady Ardat.
Another volley strikes down at you from the surrounding storm, blasting apart your cover with trivial ease. Yet, despite the power and sheer multitude of attacks, only a few of the stray bolts make contact with your body. The shocks are quite painful, but lack lacks the needed strength to interrupt your concentration.
Without a direct line of sight, his accuracy falls… Perfect.
Tactic formed, you dash directly downwards through the enormous building as another volley of lighting lashes out. None make contact this time as you smash through all thirty-eight floors and finally hit the basement's solid base.
With no time to spare you extend both sets of claws and set to digging. Seconds later when Aegiochusmon annihilates the skyscraper's last remnants, he finds little trace of your existence beyond a collapsed tunnel entrance.
"Hiding? I see you've no trouble dabbling in cowardly tactics savage!" Aegiochusmon bellows, his voice barely audible through the meters of dirt and rock. "Such trickery will not save you! This can only end in one way!"
Aye, but not in the way you believe.
The ground around you shakes as Aegiochusmon bombards the ground, but to no avail. A score of meters down like this, only a concentrated attack will reach you, and going by the vibrations you're sensing, he's choosing to bombard the entire area instead.
You focus solely on chanting, even as the tunnel you'd dug collapses, for your body has dealt with pressure far worse than a few thousand tons of dirt.
"Enough of this! Show yourself barbarian!"
"-one, zero, zero."
Zeha, as you wish. Invader.
With a Howling battlecry you erupt from the earth as a living projectile, and hurl a fist into the divine beastmon's midsection.
"Doryah!"
Aegiochusmon folds over your fist, a single spike popping out the small of his back. Then the momentum flings him up into the sky. Even while dealing with what must be terrible pain the Ultimate manages to call down another barrage… only this time you're fully prepared.
With agility far belying something a thirty-foot tall being would suggest you weave through the net of lightning and appear before him again with a Vortex Kick. His damaged vambraces snap under your black shinguard, drawing a howl of agony from the figure as he's flung upwards once again, soaring past the oh so infuriating clouds.
A second DashKnuckle folds his hoofed leg in half, Crescent Dawn tears off his angelic greatcoat along with a chunk of his cuirass, then Winning Straight, pulverizes his crossed arms into heaps of powdered bone and mulched flesh.
The holy digimon yowls in agony, but you press on with a Hammer Rush flurry, showering him in punches-
*Crackathoom*
-only to be struck from behind by another full barrage of divine energy. When your moment of paralysis passes Aegiochusmon fumbling, half-destroyed hand is leaving his belt... with a golden recovery disc.
No!
You lunge with an extended claw, aiming at his closing hand, too late. The artifact shatters in his grasp just before you can make contact. Your silver digits cuts through flesh… which then proceeds to immediately heal over. His broken limbs, cuts, and stab wounds heal over, even the Ultimate's coat and cuirass return.
However that's where it ends, the mon's mask, and vambraces barely regenerate by the time his item's power has been consumed.
Snarling, you launch another flurry of attacks, but sudden find Aegiochusmon dodging your punches. His completely tiny body leans, sidesteps and even parries your assault. The suddenly display of prediction and skill is baffling, but you wrestle the frustration into more fuel and press on.
How?! I was dismantling him mere moments before!
"I was trained by the god of war himself!" Aegiochusmon boasts, flipping over your roundhouse kick, and righting himself just in time to slap your next punch aside. "I will not lose in skill to an inferior creature from some backwater server!" Growling in anger, you pull back an arm and channel the necessary energy for Gale Claw.
Then stumble halfway through the motion as Tandem Burst wears off.
As if suddenly moving much faster than before Aegiochusmon dances around your outstretched claw and drives both hoofs into your face. The world momentarily turns to stars as you tumble back head over heels, only ending when an electrified fist drills through your gut.
Momentum… against me. Have to-Tai Atari!
As his arm draws backs, you follow and slam a pauldron into his body, creating the space you'd desired. Which then fills your core with horror.
Spirits below, I gave him space.
A moment later your body impacts down upon the same crater as before.
Get… up. Verge… move!
You struggle up to a knee just in time to see yet another barrage coming. It's all you can do to raise a hand, take the blast and redirect it away as another lightning slash.
A move that gives Aegiochusmon time to blur in front of you and slam a fist between your eyes. Mid-fall the divine humanoid slams a hoof down against your chest, pinning you to the blackened ground.
Think… how… Tremor!
"The poison of Lilith; the favour of my long deleted aunt." He muses raising one armored hand skywards. The next array of divine power stabs down into the palm of his hand, forming a crackling sword that looks nearly solid in composition. "You will tell me everything you know savage. Be truthful and I may allow you to survive as part of my grand conquest."
Grand… conquest? Hold… is that Pit?
You pause the technique a moment as the Godling whirls about on your cuirass and stares at the distant horizon where Pit's aura is spiking. His holy power skyrockets, rising by leaps and bounds from its original level, fifty percent, double, and finally tapering off just over thrice his base strength.
Evolution? No… his aura han't been altered to that degree… yet there is something different about it now. Then how did he gain such power? Was he hiding it?... no. He wouldn't do that. There's something else…
With the fighting paused your mind finally gets a chance to examine the surroundings. The Angewomon's(?) aura is entirely gone, meaning she either perished or has been stored, but every other mon in the battle is still here.
More prudent to the situation far away, Pit and Sinduramon's now nearly equal auras are set against the entirety of Andiramon's team. Beat and Vajramon… no. They're not gone, only moved beyond the city's borders. Meaning they must have lost…
Those other two members of the Gloaming must be formidable...
"Hmph, it seems another one of you barbarians has-" That's as far as he gets before twin beams of destructive power slam into his chest. As he stumbles back off your chest, Thresh's voice reaches your ears.
"Atomic Blaster!" He follows the attack by throwing the mutant Triceramon's body into your enemy, head or rather horn first. Your target yelps as one glowing horn pierces through his shoulder, before his ally's ridiculous weight carries him into the crater wall.
You rise just as Thresh settle down beside you, his aura undeniably smug.
"Gyuhuhuhuhu! I guess even your magics can't win every battle." He chuffles, body quite literally shaking in amusement. "It's a good thing your little bro is here to save you Vee." His words cut deep… but at this point you're too wounded and tired to get angrier. Instead you quietly rise back up.
What's that smoking smell… me. Ah, that explains the pain…
Taking all that lightning has left you almost disgustingly tired and weak, while the agony spread across your body is comparable even to the beatings Sir Scratch layed upon you… but you overcame those, you can overcome this.
"Betcha I can beats this guy before you can." Thresh continues as Triceramon's body is flung away.
"Enough! My patience has reached its end mongrels!"
You look between him Thresh and the enraged godling… then smirk.
"Zehaha… you're on."
