Alright.

The books revolve around a several male characters with monikers that double as colours. For instance there's the man dubbed "Ser Grey"... who, may or may not be based off a mixture of Scratch and MayorTyrannomon. He's one of the more popular character's in the *series*.

As a funny note, there's also a "Ser Umbro" which is pretty much a Duskmon.

These characters adventure within the *Human* world… which is actually pretty much the digital one with a coat of paint. However they're not the *true* protagonists of the books.

Now I said these are trashy romance novels right? That brings me to the other half said story. Each one had a *heroine* that ends up taking the lion's share of the POV sections. Shoujo protagonists essentially. Each book details the romance between each set of characters and the various roadblocks that get in their way. Each series follow a different set of protagonists, but it's considered a shared universe.

Sequels either reset the status quo due to some sort of tragedy or carry on with the Knight's *successor* which is generally very similar to the last iteration.

Lastly and I won't confirm or deny this, there are rumours that each book has a *mature* counterpart with certain characters *certain actions* that most digimon would find very confusing and/or gross.
Oh gods, is Fridge Mom behind not twilight?

Oh no, I thought she was just a pure white angel, but she was the darkest most vile one of them all. :p

Is wrong that a part of me really wants to see Verge start mentoring other mon again at some point?

Especially funny if we wind up fusing into Flaremon with Sparks while mentoring a young mon going down that Olympus 12 path naturally.

Frigimon has a... sordid past.

Soldier->Officer->POW->Scientist->POW (again)->Retiree->Caretaker.

She has to deal with all that somehow. Which was initially reading books from the human world.

Verge won't ever be able to permanently Jogress. His core is too messed up, preventing any *true* fusion.

He can only do a temporary Jogress thanks to the power of friendship. But that's the limit.

Is she going to base a novel on Beat and Drop?

So at most a theoretical Baihumon!Verge + Zhuqiaomon!Sparks could only lead to a temporary Huanglongmon?

Geeze I can only imagine what a Huanglongmon with Verge's proportional (So as strong to a normal Huanglongmon as current Verge is to a normal Gryzmon) would be like.

Is Jogress something that can be learned and refined (ala Fusion Dance) or is it something that can only really be done in the heat of the moment when two mon are in synch?

It would probably only be a normal Huanglongmon.

Verge's insane potential makes it possible for him to go from Deva to Sovereign without a jogress.

Sparks would need a Code Crown to go from Deva to Sovereign without a jogress.

I know that's why I asked what one would look like and not if getting their was ever possible.

One of the main reasons I want to go for Hogzilla is because I think that has most potential for going Sovereign due to high stat totals.

"Ser Emerald and Lady Aquamarine."
so if sparks finds out about this how much crap will he give beat and how long until beat socks him for it?

Also how long until a book is made based off of verge... or possibly this new Jogressed verge/sparks? I mean they even have Ardat that could serve as the "main" charcter who is also struggling to overcome her inner demons while constinly consuled by the "knight".

Thinking about it I now kinda want a book to be based off all the characters in our squad at some point and then have our squad discover them somehow and just see everyone's reactions. "Dunky's" should be amazing.

Hehehe. I'll think about it. Edit: And yes, Sparks would mock him about it. Extensively. I was joking though, the book doesn't exist... yet.

Would be pretty funny.

Nother question for ya'll. My apologies if it's getting tedious.

Between Pit's evolution and the Jogress to "Solaire" (AKA Flaremon) which one did you guys think was better?

And did you prefer character music to the standard Digimon Evolution theme of Brave Heart?

In my opinion "Solaire" was better it was foreshadowed with Agnimon's medallion, it was a culmination of Verge and Sparks friendship with each other, and had a catharsis factor when we defeated MTX.

Also a no on that one, I think I like Brave Heart better, though that may just be nostalgia.

Also what are the odds we can nab the Code Crown MTX was using and take it for ourselves.

Canon Omake: *Mach Jab Training* By ZwartJaeger
(Somewhere near the Prologue Village.)

"Mach Jab!" Sparks shouts, throwing a clumsy but exuberant punch towards your chest. You intercept the blow with a fore-limb, then counter.

"Mach Jab!" With his earlier strike having left him open, your own punch nails Sparks right in his lower face, knocking the candle digimon onto his back. The candle rookie sprawls out from your strike, dazed.

I-is he fine? I d-didn't hit too hard did I?

"Oh crud! Are you okay Sparks?" Flamemon question, seeming to share your concerns. He kneels next to the dazed rookie, checking the candle digimon's condition. Thankfully he seems to be fine, only shaking his head to get rid of the dizziness, before nodding at the question.

"We totally awesome heroes can't be stopped by something like a punch!" Sparks announces, springing back up to his feet-er candle holder and assuming a combat stance.

"That's the spirit! Alright then, let's take it from the top again. Begin!" Flamemon exlcaims swiping his arm down between you to start the *match*. Sparks once again goes on the offensive, hopping forward and throwing *Mach Jabs* at you with reckless abandon. You want to close your eyes and cower before the onslaught of blows, but Flamemon is watching. And... and you don't want him to disappoint him.

"Mach Jab!"

So you take a deep breath and raise your guard, letting Sparks' blows bounce off your thick limbs. The younger rookie's attacks are slow and predictable, thrown without an iota of thought for placement or timing. However the Candlemon is starting to improve thanks to this practice, his punches have become more accurate since the training started, even if they're still lacking compared to your own.

But this spar isn't solely about him punching better, Flamemon told you to help him learn how to block and dodge. So with a nervous gulp, you wait for a gap in the flurry of punches, then punish his lack of a guard. A second Mach Jab lands home much the same as last time, hitting his wax face... which in his case is his everything not made from metal or his arms.

"Buwah!" Your strike forces the rookie back, but doesn't knock him over this time coxing out a sigh of relief from your mouth.

Y-yes! I r-re-regulated my strength! Go-good job Verge!

You take one wobbling step forward and lift your left paw for another Mach Jab, but stop Flamemon raises his hand to signal a break.

"Well done Sparks! But your aggressiveness when attacking is leaving you defenseless! Verge even went and countered you twice because of it. A true hero needs to be able to do more than kick butt, he needs to defend himself against evildoers too!" After pointing out Sparks' weaknesses, your friend turns towards you for Additional critiquing. "And for Verge... hmm. Don't worry about holding back too much. Sparks can take it, so just do your best."After saying his piece, your friend walks back towards his spot on the grass and settles down, leaving you both to resume the match.

"Surprise attack! Hiyah!" A wax fist drives into your side, but between the thick fur and your thick body it doesn't so much as sting. However you still flinch back from the sudden impact, stumbling away and toppling over. Sparks makes a cry of triumph before hopping after you, throwing another punch that goes sailing over your nose. In this bout he takes Flamemon's advice and though it, manages to last significantly longer when compared to your earlier matches. The Candlemon no longer swings quite so blindly and manages to show hints of caution as he defends himself against a number of your probing strikes instead of simply going on the offense.

"Nice! You're doing great Sparks! Verge you need to be more aggressive, don't be afraid to take hits in order to land your own!" Flamemon advises shouting encouragements and advice to the both of you. Flamemon continues to cheer as the seconds tick on by, grinning as you both try to follow his advice.

After a few failed attempts, you finally manage to step into one of Sparks' blows, taking his punch to the chest while retaliating with a jab of your own, rocking him back. Now entirely on the defensive, you pressure Sparks with a flurry of jabs. The Candlemon puts up a guard of his own, trying admirably to weather the storm of strikes, however its only a matter of time until Sparks's defense breaks and you're ready for when it does.

"Mach Jab!" His arms break apart under your onslaught, leaving the Candlemon open for a final against his puppet body. Your awkwardly clenched paw smashes into the hard wax with enough force to send him tumbling back across the grassy him, only stopping a full ten feet away.

I-I won!

"Three out of three, fantastic job Verge! We'll make a hero of justice out of you yet!" The rookie proclaims, giving you his classic *thumbs up* pose. With that Flamemon leaps over to Sparks, helping the Candlemon back up onto his feet. "And you did great against him Sparks! Verge has been training with me for a while and it took him forever to get anywhere! You're already where he was like a week ago! Keep it up and we'll all be ready to start out heroic journey soon!"

"Sweet! Thanks big bro, we'll be the best heroes ever!" The two mon share a grin... while you shiver in the background, dreading the mere idea of leaving Gramps' village for good.

"Alright! Now Verge, how about a three round match with me." Flamemon pipes up, before shooting the Candlemon a wink. "I'll show you both how a true here gets things done!"

"O-okay F-flamemon." You murmur gulping at the prospect of fighting him. Sure he wouldn't hurt you but... it would still be-

"Uppercut!"

*Thump*

Ow...

-painful.

After three short losses, Flamemon and Sparks take a break from training to lay back and look at the sky.

"Hmm, Verge, Sparks, what do you guys think being a hero means?"

B-being a h-hero?

It takes a few seconds for you to process the question. He'd asked it right out of the blue and as such you thus lack a quick and easy answer. Sparks on the other paw...

"That's easy!" The Candlemon shouts, his fiery head turning to look at Flamemon. "Beating the evil bad guys up!" Sparks on the other hand, gave his instantly full of a certainty only a child would have. Hearing Sparks answer gives you your own idea of what to say, even if it's not exactly a great reply.

"Y-you F-flamemon, a hero is s-someone like you. Who s-saves and h-h-helps others."

Flamemon looks at both you and bursts out into a grin."

"That's right you guys! A hero is someone who defeats evil and saves people! And I am going to be a great hero! The best one ever!" He proclaims, leaping back up and rocking on the balls of his feet. "Now I'm all fired up, Verge, Sparks up for another spar?" Flamemon's hands let out a burst of flames, his excitement apparent.

You take a deep, calming breath then look at Sparks. The Candlemon returns your stare with a pair of smiles, before his fiery head nods.

R-right! Come on Verge l-let's do this.

Both you and Sparks rise up, readying yourselves for the incoming match against Flamemon.

===

Your singular red eye snaps open, the drowsiness already leaving your mind. Agnimon's medallion rests against the palm of your war-gauntlet, tiny against the massive paw. For a moment you gaze at it, your dream dredging up memories of a happier time.

Resting is over Verge. It's time to train.

With a grunt, you rise up from the comfortable grass and stride towards the boulder you'd been practicing techniques on. Stopping in front of the cracked and battered boulder, you gaze at your friend's memento one last time before putting it back into your bag again.

As the memories sweep past your mind, one particular strand bubbles up to the surface. The very first technique you ever learned.

I think... I shall practice this first.

"Mach Jab!"

26th Of Thunder: Flaremon's End, & Main Squad Reuniting
MetalTyrannomon's body burns around your left arm, azure and purple flames scouring away every byte of his data. A fitting fate given that he'd done the same to Gramps.

Pure unadulterated satisfaction flows from your cores, victory mixing with the elation of revenge. The murderer of your caretaker had finally been dispatched and while half of you wishes it could have been more drawn out, both parts are glad that this jackass is finally deleted.

You open your mouth for one last chuckle and-

*Pop*

===

"Ergh." Verge the Gryzmon hits the ground with a dull thud.

"Ack." Sparks the FlameWizardmon smacks against the walkway five feet in front of you, then reaches up slowly to rub his head. "Friggen' heck. Course the Ten damned Jogress would end like that."

"Zeha..ha." You laugh softly, both at the armor digimon's misfortune and relief at finally being back in your own body again. Sparks was your friend but… being fused to him hadn't been the most pleasant experience. He even tried to check out your sister's thighs! And while you were part of him… or he was part of you?

Spirits below, this entire thing is confusing… just…. just accept your victory Verge.

"We defeated him."

"Hehe. We did. Tore him up then burnt that bastard right through." Sparks chuckles, dragging himself over to lean against your arm. "Gotta say Verge, that *Jogress* thing was pretty friggen' crazy."

"It was." You agree, thinking back on that tremendous power your joined forms had possessed. "That form, Flaremon… was powerful." Indeed the two of you of *Jogressing* had been quite shocking, but helpful all the same. It hadn't given you the might of a Mega but… it had been enough to defeat a Code Crown empowered Ultimate.

"Yep, and pretty darn heroic to boot. Heh, wonder if it'll earn us an article in the paper."

"Heroic like Agnimon." You agree still feeling the presence of his medallion. The bronze metal faintly warm, comforting and…

Your attention is drawn away from the piece of bronze metal as a golden quadrilateral shape floats down in front of you. Inside the square's center is a series of what looks like… worn down mountains. Reminding you of the Ragged Alps so prevalent in your home zone.

Sparks sits up, using your arm as a support and raises his hand towards what must be the Code Crown. The wizard digmon doesn't grasp it directly, instead summoning up one of his blazing hand constructs to grab the code and drag it towards his bag.

"Better keep this safe for Madame Calamaramon."

He… he's planning to return it to her?

As if sensing your incoming question Sparks clears his throat and opens up his red satchel, letting the pulsating item(?) be deposited inside.

"Tis the smart move to return it to her. Since that jackass got what was comin' to him we're the only two that could have it. Hehe, believe me ya don't wanna piss that wommon off. Plus this'll get us in her good graces."

"I see." You murmur before looking back up at the sky. Dagomon and Calamaramon's presences were still up there fighting but… so far away that it was somehow faint. Trying to fathom just how high up they've went is an interesting challenge, but without context you're stuck at just *waaaaay above the clouds*.

Curses. I must learn how to properly differentiate heights with my sense… and learn the proper terms for the digital world's highest reaches.

For now all you can do is rest. You'd been tired even before the Jogress and now that it's ended… well you can barely move. It's not the exact same exhaustion as after taking that Angemon's blow. This one is purely of a physical nature instead of extending into the metaphysical.

Still, that feeling of victory and satisfaction was nice. MTX was deleted, Gramps had finally been avenged. Counting him, Ogremon and Fugamon… now all that's left are, Repulsa, Count and Musyamon… or rather Asuramon now. Defeating the last shouldn't be too difficult, after all he was there with Luna. Once you and Sparks are all rested up it should simple enough to go there and end him in honourable battle.

… right?

Your head jerks around suddenly as the very *angry* presence you'd noticed earlier begins to close on your position. Naturally your first reaction is to be worried in case it's hostile, but further examination of the aura reveals something immensely calming.

The wrath… it has calmed. Now I can feel… Holy Flame?

Wrath. Holy Flame. Very Strong... Pit. Therefore, Pit is now an Ultimate.

Before you can warn Sparks about the return of your friend, a burst of steam erupts from the nearby water and with it comes a figure wreathed in golden fire.

An Asuramon lands on the pathway besides you, an unconscious (and legless) Noir held gingerly in his forward set of arms. Of the Ultimate's many new physical properties, what stands out most isn't his new arms, faces or darkened skin. No, it's his piercing dark blue eyes, orbs filled with tremendous amounts of pure, controlled Wrath. If you were still a Drimogemon they'd instantly fall under the category of *Scary*, but as a Gryzmon… well they're still a bit worrying.

Wait… what happened to Noir's legs?

"Greetings friends!" Pit happily proclaims, *back* flexing his *upper-most* set of arms. "Do not be alarmed by my new Creator-blessed form for it's an engine of holy wrath, not a vessel of the dark!"

That is… an odd thing to specify.

"Congratulations Lord Pit." Sparks states bowing his head. "Heh, guess you're pretty strong now aren't ya."

"Indeed advisor Sparks! With it I cast down the foul villain Shawujinmon who opened a portal to the Dark Ocean and brought Dagomon to this world. With this new form I defeated him and rescued my-er. Rescued Noir." The former angel breaks down at the end, but still seems proud. However you just glare at him.

Sure you're pleased to see your friend evolve but… that didn't change the fact that he'd abandoned the mission to save Sparks.

Yes Sparks had literally been lounging around eating fruit. But it's the thought that counts! He'd placed the safety of SistermonNoir up higher than his friends. And that… well right now it feels a lot like a betrayal.

Hold on, he mentioned Dagomon and something else...

"Dark Ocean?"

"Yes friend Verge! The Dark ocean is!.. Uh…" The Asuramon trails off, rubbing a hand against the back of his head. "Well I don't know, but it felt like a horrid, truly unholy place."

Dark Ocean… Dark ocean… Mind? Are you there? I could use context on this path… Spirits below, nothing. Did my previous life never hear of it? Mayhaps I could ask HolyAngemon about the subject-

-what is that?!

Your head whirls to the side, eyes… eye narrowing in on another a new aura. It's a… melodic presence? Smooth and watery, highly controlled and... strong. Not to the level of Pit, exactly, but it's close.

"Ah! Friend Beat! You've come back!"

"Tch, if you're here for the fight Prick, then it's too late. Verge and I took care of it already." Sparks chuckles mockingly.

*Thump*

Aaaaand from the sounds of it, gets smacked for his trouble.

Zeha.

"Beat." You turn around and nod to the darkened JewelBeemon. Halfway through the gesture you raise an eyebrow. The former Stingmon's head is noticeably cracked, almost like somemon brought something heavy down on it.

Interesting...

===Choose One:

[] Ask Beat what happened. He's wounded and there's an odd presence that's arrived at a weirdly coincidental time. Maybe he knows?

[] Ask why Pit put Noir over Sparks and what happened exactly. You're curious as heck about what the heck happened down there that it managed to summon a Mega-Level digimon.
