Black to White 6
You are a Knightmon, you are steel, you are a loyal warrior. You are darkness, you are hidden to reach, you plot to persevere. You are Electricity, savage and direct, you destroy through the easiest path. You are....
"My servant we deemed the honor... Will you study Frigimon's book with us?-Of course you will, he should be glad to help his master."
Isn't the first time in your existence as Gladimon that you wanted to put your hands on the neck of Lady Ardat and attempt regicide, your attempt at meditating over your newest understanding of the nature of elements and connections to High Programming, was working! 5 hours of continuous meditation to reach that state wasted!
No, you can enter again Verge. A path was found, and it can be traveled again.
"Lady Ardat, I assure you that my lowly capacity and knowledge over the matters wouldn't be-" Your denial sadly had the opossite effect.
*Clench*
"Thanks you! Thanks you!" Your helm was crushed but her happiness was too much, you hated Slide Down Evolution but for your Lady you will use the greatest lesson that Sir Scratch imparted to you.
Eat shit and accept the orders of superiors.
You like to think that she misses using the fur of a Drimogemon to put her head on and rest, you will skin alive a beast type Digimon in the future for the sake of not having to learn such an insulting technique but for now you will have to desciphrate this at her side as an eternal watcher to make sure that she doesn't try to burn it in a moment of frustration when she eventually fails to make progress.
"Great! We've studied the first pages already, but there's a lot more in Frigimon's manual. The secrets of her knowledge are still locked behind the barrier of time, effort and understanding! Come and let us see to it that the umm...-the secret to vertical slide evolution.-Yes that! We shall brave the dangers of this adventure and finds the treasure that lays at the end!"
At least she is motivated, but you convince her of doing this with Warren and Scourge.
If you have to suffer then those two will too. The training in focus will do them well, a difference of their rookie forms they could sitdown without jumping at your body.

*Cough*
A loud sound reverberates through the compartment, ripping away sleep and all the turmoil that comes with it. Your eye snaps open to zone in on cause, but instead of danger find Beat standing in front of the entrance, one curled set of fists in front of his face.
"Wha!-" The LadyDevimon on side back flinches awake, "Oh-oh Beat! We were just umm...-utilizing our servant.-What? No we-."
"Stop." Your subordinate takes a step forward, his eyes focused not on the former Witchmon, but rather on your own crimson orb.
His body is tense. Uncomfortable... loss... you knew how he feels.
"I will speak with Verge." The Stingmon continues. "Alone."
"The gall, do you think that we'd simply leave because-"
"Yes." You will aim to become close to him.
"Nihihi! Then little assassin you've thought-"
"Supper ends in five minutes." This power is something that you need.
"-right! We have to leave! The howling pit of destruction must be vanquished! Bye Verge!-We will be seeing you once more servant."
Part of you know that you ditzy lady will cause a disaster.
"Goodbye." Your voice was dry and tired, you aren't going to get any training done with her or without her.
"I..." he takes a deep breath, fists clenching hard enough for the spikes on his forearms to slide free. However, after a second, they retract and the Stingmon slowly shakes his head. "Verge. I don't know what to do now." Another breath. You can't help but understand his behavior, it was too similar to your Drimogemon self coming for the first time to the orphanage.
He was lost and without a path now that his goal was reached.
"You want to talk with me." It was good that he followed the hierarchy established.
"Yes." He admitted easily.
"I see." You nodded.
"..."
"..."
"What matter do you intend to discuss?" You forced him to take the first step, it was his problem.
"Our... alliance. We are comrades." Now it was over, his revenge has been completed.
"Indeed we still are." you nod, showing the short-spoken mon a grin. "Blitzmon has been defeated, his data shared between us." Sparks of electricity were beyond you but a modification of Flame Weapon Shroug to use a different element was possible now.
"What should I do now that my oath is completed?" It was a particularly difficult question.
You wanted to live, you wanted more power, you wanted a lot of digimon to live and that desire keeps you moving further. You couldn't be the Drimogemon that almost died but explaining it was difficult.
"I'm proof that many lived, Sir Scratch included." You decided to follow this approach. "I can't die and let them be forgotten, I can't allow the one that I made an oath to protect in his place to die, I can't allow Spark or my wards to die... I'm not allowed many things."
You can't die, a Knight can't be forgotten. You need prioritize your safety even reaching the deepest circle of hell.
"But I can become stronger and hold those oaths." You decided to continue, it was the only path for you get stronger for many goals. "That your oath was completed only means that the unspoken ones take priority now." The oath that he made to help you delete the Count still persists.
"I... have a lot to think." Good, remember who owns your ass Beat.
"Then join me, I still have to master the swordsmanship of a certain furry." Words don't needed to be exchanged anymore, you feel like making progress in turning the mentality of Beat into something useful.
Mastering the form of Wolfmon was difficult, the near sparring which results from a mutual practice is actually pretty enjoyable as you could test what worked and could be modified better. Though the Stingmon is not able to stay the full four hours required for a true session, and makes it clear that he has other matters to attend to it was clear that this resulted into a more effective form of discover the kinks that you couldn't find alone.
"Beat." Your hands were on his elbows.
"Yes?" He seemed a bit unfased.
"Would you consent to make this a daily ritual?" It was an order your shining bright eye could see the results.
"I would." you give the champion one final nod, a gesture he returns before exiting the car.
Your fair lady allowed this to continue, and you could admit that this time traveling has resulted in successful training sessions, High Programing truly was turning out to be enjoyable to test and even if your wards progress alongside Lady Ardat was slower than yours... it was just proof that the wisdom gained in your experiments grafted a foundation for this.
But this raised an important issue.
You can't call the spell that you used to deceive Wolfmon 'Frame Reinforce', the modifications made the enhancement of defensive aspects become more like a paper Greymon instead of your original idea and plans to abandon more of the substance for the sake of appearance of bulking body. It wasn't truly the same spell that you learned from the Mystimon that you learned from, the Trickster Frame - as you decided to call it- was a whole different branch that you discovered accidentally.
Now if you could focus on those aspects and separate them from Frame Reinforcement the cast would turn easier and last more to allow you to get the first hit by striking your opponent in the unprotected stomach.
Your form changed and your body turned unbalanced... You returned immediately to Gladimon. Your lady and wards clapped at your almost successful attempt but you only feel disgusted at yourself. It wasn't a failure, you just broke it at a middle point to fail at purpose once the previous mindset began to bleed into your mind.
"Yes, yes, yes! We've got it!" Ardat shouts in triumph, leaping off your bed with one arm held high in victory. "Watch this Verge!-Yes servant this will be spectacular!-We'll become a Witchmon again! Then it'll all be back and we'll be so cool!" The LadyDevimon drops her manual to the padded floor, spins around once in place and flashes you a breathtaking smile.
"Congratulations, my lady I knew you'd be able to learn it quickly." Your failures at least served for something like teaching her what she shouldn't do.
"Why of course we did! We're going to be this world's leading lady! Master of all and the fairest of all lands! AHa!!"
The giggle sends a rush down your armor, the cold odd sense of wrong was impacting.
"Now watch as we attain mastery over our body!" The wommon's sparkling lavender eyes close, her clawed hand clenches tightly and Ardat's chest swells with an intake of breath.
Seconds pass with the compartments jostling being only sound being heard.
And then, her body begins to glow white. Your eye widens in wonder as her entire body begins to shine, transitioning into the malleable form of data-a blinding flash of purple pours out from her core searing your gaze with solid pain. Something that your wards shared as the three of you held your heads in pain for an instant.
Erk, that! What is that?!
"Wh-what?" Your eye flashes open up in curiosity, then widen in surprise. Standing in front of you is...
A LadyDevimon garbed in crimson clothing. It was a failure, did she despise her previous self too? No! She adored High Programming, she breath it and took it like flower needed water to truly florish.
"That was-we weren't ready! Let's try again!-We won't let simple failure deter us." It was bravado, she failed.
Again and again, she only managed to fail. You began to chant numbers and use the original version of a particular spell.
"It doesn't work. Why? Why can't we..."
You stay silent for a moment and let the end spell enhance your durability, a hand on her shoulder a firm squeeze that she feel, and a nod you allow her to hug your armor her strength once again made you feel like she was going to crush you into past as your insides break.
But your lady was still in pain.
"It was too weak, I will search for another method if it is necessary." You gave your opinion her previous form can't handle her might. "My Lady, I'm your Knightmon if you decided to be a champion I will make it happen, and if you decided to relearn the embrace of magic I will be there digit by digit."
"We are here for you, Scourge and I will also support you two." Warren promised while Scourge gave a few positive hisses.
"Experiences, forms, and feelings will vary but our oaths persist." You didn't cared about her shape since your evolution, the only thing that you care was to make sure that the promise to Sir Scratch persisted.
Your demonic companion sniffs once, rubbing her face against your cracked armor to wipe away the tears and very clearly calms herself down. She pulls away, cutting off the embrace and you let her go.
"You have our thanks servants.-It really means a lot and... we're sorry for always doing this. We'll try to be-we shall act more regal as our destiny demands-Mhm." She pauses to look at you and your wards, lavender eyes flashing with sudden intent. "And if we can't slide digivolve, then we have to to dour best to make sure you can!-you're our trusted servant after all and- important to us like... almost like Scratch." Her head bobs down for a second at the reminder of her mentor, before shaking in resolution.
You allowed yourself to smile, Sir Scratch gave his life to you just like Agunimon and many others. If you could truly own your oath like this it means that your path of Knighthood truly will be filled with difficulties with this troublesome lady.
"My thanks, I know the subject must hurt but you're choosing to trust my words and counsel." You bow your head to the LadyDevimon in gratitude but you wouldn't have it in another different way. "I too hold you in high regard, I will not allow laziness from you." Sir Scratch was a firm teacher.
"AHaHa!-Good! Then let us not suffer any further delays servant. we shall make sure you understand our superior teaching skills!" Her gold claw flashes, scooping up Frigimon's manual once more. "Now come! Let us battle this foe of ignorance together!"
The next day, you finally managed to find time to spend with your most trustworthy comrade, words were exchanged and sadly your lady has truly consumed much of the time that you had with him. Normally this would mean that you had to organize better your time but it seems that he was more interested in the progress of the mutual revenge, you didn't believe that was there a better method to give more strength to your mutual friendship than plotting over the future deletion of our enemies.
Inspiration matched and our wits meshed together as multiple plans were exchanged, the newest use of your affinity towards Light and modification to Holy Light Strike was brought to your attention just like Trickster Frame it could be possible to create the basis of a new spell.
But the fact was that they need to work into obtaining a better teamwork on mix their talents and specialities if you two wanted to get revenge, the count had a long time as Ultimate and that time was used to become stronger, alone it would take an eternity but together was possible to press the advantage and discover new was to defeat newest and stronger enemies... enemies that will be the same tier as the Count and Repulsa.
But at the end of the travel, you had tsk in disgust as Pit... Pid dislike of your lady. But was still impossible to show your displeasure, he was necessary as some of the advanced versions of the Holy and Healing spells had their core in the religion of the Host.
But what could you do, if it will make you stronger then learn from this and then twist it for your lady to use will make the headaches of dealing with the Pidmon worth it.
Such is the sacrifices that a Knightmon must do.
Finished the train arc! 2.4K now I can sleep! All to Fortitude to keep the train going. 80K will be reached before the loading of Megas and fight with Angemon.
