Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

If she was not one of the scariest things in the entire LDC, I could totally see people mocking Rei for no longer having the strongest firepower.
Heck, there are probably some people who will do it anyway.

Rei still has a lot of unused experience. She can grow stronger than she is now from my understanding.

So if she is upset her pet has a bigger boomstick then she can make herself have an even bigger one.

Red Rose is not "most people", though :V

Doesn't echo basically make it a double tap so she can survive one hit but taken out in an instant with the next?

-edit-

And I quoted the wrong person there.

Are we discounting Dodge and assuming the attack actually hits? If so off the top of my head maybe... five? people could facetank that.

this enter scene was narrative pointless, and I am genuinely surprised anyone would vote for it. Nothing was resolved, no new information was given to the players, no quest lines or anything opened up. Just a knife into an old wound that nep all of a sudden cared about again.
I think this is something that needs talking about completely unrelated to the Trauma Train. What was/is the point of voting for "Visit The Magical Girls On Base" when it's all just a quick "Hi I'm Anna" "Hi I'm X" "Bye!" interaction? We learned pretty much nothing about any of the four characters we visited and honestly the whole exchange felt boring.

To provide some perspective here are the word counts for each character's individual sections:
Thorn Warden: 301
Warped Mirror: 391
Hero WEAPON: 428
Fable Heart: 762
So the Fable Heart bit got double the words of the rest but half of that was more about Candy Heart. Actually this was a recurring problem; Hero WEAPON's scene was amost entirely gobbled up by Gaia with Hero only getting (very generously) 137 words out of the 428 or about a third of her segment. Similarly Warped Mirror was 260/391 (66%) about her assigned soldier Tony not Warped Mirror.

Thorn Warden's segment was admittedly 100% about them but it both had the shortest word count and probably felt the most like nothing happened.

So my question is; why should we ever vote to meet new girls again if it ends up like this? Especially when it's competing with directly interacting with the people we already know and care about.

If nep had fucking said something about how candy heart died
I'll admit I spent pretty much the entire scene waiting for Nepgear to admit what happened to Fable Heart from the second Candy Heart was mentioned. That she was unwilling to even mention Candy Heart's heroic sacrifice for her, I could understand leaving the "I killed her rezed corpse even though I could have saved her" bit out, was really disappointing both from a story perspective and for my opinion of Nepgear as a person.

In fact, this was one of my more prominent thoughts also.

By moving out of the way. Obviously.
Say, does it count as dodging if the attack does not hit you, but destroys the world you stand on; with the resulting cataclysm killing you instead? :V

So we are finally getting a very big nuke them all attack and you people are saying it's worthless.

I don't know what to say besides what is the point of having the big nuke them all attack in the first place if it can be rendered pointless by a simple thing as "dodging".

It's far from worthless... It's just not the end all, everyone else loses.

That wouldn't make a fun quest anyway.

She can nuke everyone on the list now with PEACE. Most people can't survive over 1bil unstoppable damage.
So breaking down Symphony of Peace we get:
Base Damage: 3,276,800 = Celestial Severance Base Damage
+1,638,400 Supremacy Zone*
+22,937,600 Prime Evil Slayer**
x 10 Core Boost***

*This is exactly 50% half SoP's Base Damage which is weird because SZ only gives +50% against aerial opponents but I guess firing up counts?

**This triggering is really freaking weird because we had no target so an Ability that only triggers on enemies who are both Evil Affinity and have a second negative affinity. Seeing as we had no target...

***This is legit cool. If it triggers whenever we have Core Purge active then it's amazing. If it only works when we're around Uni or the Drives it's less so but still cool.

By the way Core Purge + Starshine is the ultimate Army Killer. Forget Judgement Core's weak shit behold this:

(Starshine Symphony of Peace: 3,508 Base Damage, +0 Dice, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +5,000 Divine Power, 10x Core Boost = 435,880 Total Damage
Starshine Symphony of Peace: 3,508 Base Damage, +0 Dice, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +3,508 Rain of Light, +5,000 Divine Power, 10x Core Boost = 435,880 Total Damage

x500 Spread the Love (Target - Army)

871,760,000 Total Damage)

If The Insurmountable Gap triggers, which it will in almost all cases, that doubles up to 1.7 billion damage. That is enough to obliterate two million of Hell's Foot Soldiers per casting. Unfortunately it seems tiring enough that we probably can't spam it.

Honestly unless I'm missing something Symphony of Peace is pretty damn situational. Sure it gives 10x damage but unless there is something else it does, like triggering all relevant abilities regardless of target applicability, it doesn't change much. We'll have 5 APT once we level up Purifier Beam, which we can afford to now with Mode Change, which means we can match the output of Symphony of Peace every two Turns. Meanwhile from the level of exhaustion described I would be surprised if we can cast it more then once per battle let alone more then once every two Turns.

It would have meant that Nepgear finally got a freakin' break for once and a good finisher. But it can be dodge even when it's unstoppable and is basically a nuke of pure light.

I would understand people can come back to life after being hit by something or hax like that, but dodging a fucking nuke does not work unless you are the Flash.

That's why I'm kind off miffed about this. I'm going to take sometime off from the thread to cool down because it doesn't make any sense to me.

To give you all a heads up, that training section with the attacks is a simulation of "best scenario fire". As in how strong they'd be if the required conditions for all applicable abilities have been met.

(Except Echo, that rolled on it's own.)

Outside of the training ground, don't expect it's damage to reach that high.

I'm guessing that the Main Gun and Secondary Cannon have some form of Ability Sync like ability in one of their slots, copying the abilities of the spells that trigger them.

The exhaustion could also be since we're doing an improper use of it.

Remember that it's actually one of the attacks of the Progenitor Frame, which isn't manifested. Could be that it's much less exhausting when the Frame is manifested.

In that case why no The Insurmountable Gap? It's far more likely to trigger then Prime Evil Slayer after all.

Didn't think to include it at the time.
I think it would make the scene funnier/cooler if you did because it means Nepgear would go from just edging out JC in raw damage, her area of expertise, by ~174 mill:
1,005,734,520 Total End Damage
1,179,861,320 Total End Damage
to flat out doubling her damage at 2,359,722,640.

Would be a nice nod to the continuing trend of Nepgear hilariously outperforming JC due to JC living a fairly "normal" life as a Magical Girl while Nepgear lives and breathes insanity.

JC can go higher, she just didn't go beyond getting enough Rain of Light activation for her other abilities.
