Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Spawn Rate: 20/hour (10 if Overseer present)
Spawn Rate: 30/hour (15 if Overseer present)
Spawn Rate: 40/hour (20 if Overseer present)
I like how you've subtly included the bit where fortress stability often dictates offing half your migrants. :p
How smart are Dorfs when not supervised?
If it's anything like the game, "suicidally dumb". But it looks like an unattended fortress here can continue growing up to the point where it digs Too Deep and gets wiped out, so maybe these Dorfs are a little bit smarter than usual?

Well, if you want to read Headshoots, I have a link to the archive here.
Dwarf Fortress - Headshoots

And if you want to read the equally awesome sequel Syrupleaf, then you can look here
Dwarf Fortress - Syrupleaf

(feel free to use the demonic spans of Holistic and possibly the Demoness herself as an inspiration for a new faction of the unified darkness)

huh, so it takes a fortress 34 days to reach max level assuming the overseer spends the whole time watching it and has somone stronger than her deal with the happy fun stuff. At that point assuming continued managment it would produce 1200 dwarven warriors and 240 "tamed" monsters a day. That's absolutely terrifying, from some back of the napkin math a dwarf could kill a hellbeast in one turn easily, and one shot 6 soul reavers a turn.

so she can with a month of say goddess golds time start mass producing what are effectively level 3 demons en mass, sure every so often a hostile level 4 demon spawns but at that point the pile of dwarves can mob it to death given there production center is essentially a massive overly elaborate and death trap infested fortress they will probably lose less than 1200 of them doing it.

screw hidden fun stuff surprise, she can set up an army to rival Rei's with enofgh startup investment. If the dwarves can march out of there fortress she could eventually build up enofgh of them to threaten entire demonic legions, If not then she can set up near untakeable strong points.

hell if she sends out say 10,000 level 5 dwarven warriors and has them guard a new fortress it would proably make it to level 5 without issue, and at that point it either starts going exponential or the UD started desperately throwing level 5 demons at her fortress until they are reduced to rubble. Which has the pleasant side effect of the UD expending high tire assets against massive fortresses manned by non sapient magical drones.

And it becomes even more terrifying if her backup is instead someone capable of mind controlling or Befriending the giant monsters that get spawned.

Pretty much. The only true bottle neck are those said Class 4 demons. If one of those things spawn at a bad time the whole thing goes belly up. If the Unified Light knows that a location is going to become strategically important within those 34 days they would more than willing to invest in finding a spare Magical Girl strong enough to take on those said Class 4 demons in order to ensure it reaches that Level 5 status.

And it becomes even more terrifying if her backup is instead someone capable of mind controlling or Befriending the giant monsters that get spawned.
You are really obsessed with this idea for some reason.

I'm sure our QM is more disciplined than that.................
At the moment eyes are hurting a bit, but I don't think that'll stop it. Yet anyway.

And on that note, my virus scan is over, and I'm not in risk of freezing halfway through.

Give me a bit to have your receipt out and I'll get started on the update.

fuck man, we aren't the exponentially growing threat to the UD, Dwarven overseer is. Drop her and anything strong enofgh to deal with the hidden fun stuff for the first fortress and she'll be able to start growing exponentially. The first fortress takes 34 days to set up, lets say a month later she sends out 10,000 dwarves to setup a new fortress on there own, it will take them 70 days to reach level 5 assuming the 10,000 guards kill the hidden fun stuff, then that fortress starts pumping out another 600 dwarves a day, and at that point it goes exponential and a year or two later the UD is overrun by an endless horde of angry beards with axes.

Overseer has to personally spawn new fortresses on her own. And without her direct imput they're not intelligent enough to dogpile Happy Fun Stuff with numbers on their own.

Anyway, if I remember everything correctly, you guys are going to be talking to Uni before you go on the next mission.

This is going to be so much fun~

You all get to meet the current #12!

Huh. I just remembered that picture I gave Crystalwatcher featuring a Balrog standing in a burning city and getting shot at by tanks and riflemen. That's going to be used a lot sooner then I thought.

awwww, I was having the most wondrous vision of dwarven tunnels spanning the entirety of worlds, of dwarves swarming in countless trillions, of pointless death traps the size of mountains, and an endless bearded tide sweeping away hell to the disbelieving cries of its legions.

Still probably the most broken story Mg out there though. Does anyone else really want to do a quest playing overseer now?
