Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Looking at the XP math, if we wipe out the right flank, we would get at least 1200 XP even if we split it with Judgement Core. Honestly, she needs it more, but we would be able to get Lesser Gods and buff out Celestial Severance and Starshine. Factoring the Hell Beast and other nasties, we will likely have enough to also pump up Omnicaster at the same time.

So I haven't caught up with the thread yet but WHAT THE FUCK STARSHINE?! I WANT TO GET THAT TO LEVEL 15! I REALLY REALLY DO!

Oh I Can Not WAIT for us to use that at Hope.

More hilariously, if Nepgear once again solos the entire army of Reavers, she'll gain enough xp to get all of these goodies and more!
  • Lesser Gods: 550 xp
  • Segarite Core: 2000 xp
  • Celestial Severance Level 10: 170 xp
  • Starshine Level 10: 350 xp
  • Purifier Beam Level 20: 850 xp
  • Flight Level 16: 650 xp
1550 Soul Reavers @3xp each = 4650 xp
That plan above uses 4570 xp

So....Lesser Gods next? Depends on what kind of super powered badass shows up next I imagine but the anticipation is killing me.

Definitely a good idea for us to try feeding Judgement Core some XP too though, which is why the Synchonize idea is a good one.

So... how about that Starshine people?

:V:V:V:V
You're far too nice. I don't think anyone was expecting to hit all the attacking forces and the flying enemies in one swell foop.

Also that damage reduction math is fuzzy as hell, it looks like each of the 188 target Reavers is applying it's resilience and getting the penalties. Breaking that up to an individual that's 150 base, -10 weak to purity, -500 divinity, for a total of -360 extra damage. Multiplying that by 188 makes 67,680 extra damage, with is different from 16,920 absorbed in a way that leaves me perplexed how that number showed up.

It's also strange that Hostile Divinity Effect works on offense and defence. Are there Hostile [EXISTENCE] Effect for other Magical Girls?

Thoughts: If we bring Starshine to level 7 a single casting will hit for 1,318 damage, which would be enough to splat a reaver and allow us to hit a different pile with each cast. On the other hand, Divinity effects are effectively adding ~625 damage each shot -- meaning that even a single point will then let The Insurmountable Gap splatter the 1,200 Health reavers.

How does Starshine level anyway? Does it add even more lasers or does each laser get more powerful? Do higher levels strike a wider area?

Something is about to happen, if the summoners can call up 1,600 beasties they can call 8,000 beasties. That they're attack now means there's a plan we don't know about. (If the plan was "drown them in bodies" they'd need at least 6,400 to withstand an Anti-Army hit , I suppose it might be plan b: ten times as many demons.) I'm betting that Nepgear gets to show off the unkillable trait she's gotten from IC.

Starshine is definitely MVP here.

[X] Plan Desperation
-[X] The Drives are to not engage the Soul Reavers, and keep searching for the Summoners and Hell Beasts. The Summoners take priority. Once they have done so, they may engage at will.
--[X] If the Hell Beasts are protecting the summoners, they are to call for back-up.
-[X] Solid Core and Judgement Core will cast Starshine and End Game on the Right side group, attempt to thin the herd.
--[X] Solid Core will attempt to cast Starshine as much as possible, while Judgement Core will cast End Game every time Burst Stream of Oblivion becomes available, attacking the rest of the time. They will attack the side with the largest numbers every turn.
---[X] After Starshine and End Game synchronized, they will attempt to synchronize Celestial Severance and End Game immediately afterwards. They will then use whichever combination is better from then on every time Burst Stream procs. Or every turn, if they believe the combo doesn't benefit/need it. If the combinations are bad, they obviously won't use it.
-----[X] Solid Core is to keep casting Starshine outside of the Synchronized spell.
-[X] Gabriel is to be prepared for if and when the Hell Beasts appear.
--[X] If they appear on the battlefield, she is to engage and stop them from interfering with Judgement and Solid Core.
--[X] If Solid or Judgement Drive calls for back-up, she is to render assistance.
---[X] Priority is Judgement Drive > Solid Drive > Solid Core and Judgement Core.
-[X] Make sure the Commander of the local forces is calling this shit in to Command.

[X] Plan It's Always A Trap
-[X] James and Michael swap positions, Judgement Core defend the rear Messenger, Gabriel and the Gunship in the air.
-[X] If any heavy hitters try and take out the Messengers in the confusion Judgement Core, James, Michael, and Lucky are to take them down.
-[X] The Gunship is to provide crowd control if needed while Gabriel is to stay alert for Hell Beasts or other aerial attackers.
-[X] The Drives are to continue searching the area. Report back anything you find but your priority is stopping those Summoners from drowning us in numbers.
-[X] Solid Core will engage the right side. You'll try and use Starshine as fast as possible to take down as many enemies as possible. While waiting between castings you'll attack with your Purifier Beam; hopefully all that new power will let you thin the herd even more.
--[X] Once the right side is cleared with engage the left side if it hasn't reached the Messengers, same tactics as the right, or help defend the Messengers if it has, hopefully Starshine will be just as effective as last time.

--[X] Synchronize spells with Judgement Core, Starshine with The End. Judgement Core activates Burst Stream of Obliteration once the spells are synchronized and no friendlies are anywhere NEAR your firing arc. Scour as big an area as you can cover with Starshine of The End to one side of the convoy, while Omni-Casting regular Starshine in between. Judgement Core will recharge her Burst Stream of Obliteration at the same time. Synchronize again when Burst Stream has recharged.

Can thosw who voted for Starpocalypse be poersuaded to change to Despereation? I would like for any plan that does spell synchronization to win. Or, if Plan Trap can edit in synchroing spells with Judgement core, I'll switch my vote to that

So did anyone ever notice that Judgement Drive has her own version of Drive Synchronization that increases Solid Drive's Base Resilience? Man, once we figure out how to get Sega to upgrade to her IC equivalent and get Juggernaut back on the Unified Light, she's going to be nigh-unkillable, isn't she?

So while looking at the character sheets, I noticed something odd. Lucky, and only Lucky, now has (Divinity) in the Affinity section of her Stats tab (including the parenthesis), written the same way that Core Connection stats are written. @crystalwatcher is this intentional (able to sync with Divinity spells?) or a typo?
Definitely a good idea for us to try feeding Judgement Core some XP too though, which is why the Synchonize idea is a good one.
Speaking of Synchronize, is Samael's Library affinity, Libras spell, and Affinity Override ability enough to let him help Lucky cast the full (synchronized) version of War Book: METEOR?

Edit:

I noticed, which is why I want to corner the Drives after the battle to find out when and how they got that ability, preferably while JC is around too.

crystalwatcher already told you Sega can't go any higher then Adamantium Frame:
Are Judgement Core and Drive stuck at the Mythril Armor level?

The highest those two can get is Adamantium. The Highest Juggernaught can get is Mythril.

If you add in the Apocalypse effect of the Purifier Beam (since this time the enemies are actually far away from the Messengers) and the 30 Anti-Army attacks per turn of Supremacy Zone, we can almost certainly kill most if not all of the Reavers in 3 turns.
We cannot do that, because that requires making army actions. Which we are not doing.

Huh? Casting Starshine at the Reavers was an army action, wasn't it? It triggered the Target: Army effect.

Is there a difference between what triggers Target: Army and what's considered an army action? I assumed that army action just means any action which is targeting an army.
Target: Army triggers when it targets an "army". An army action is an action by an army.
So no, casting Starshine was not an army action.

............how does that even make sense?

How does an individual get extra attacks with their unique weapon when acting as part of an army, considering that acting as an army implies that everyone is doing the same thing?

Or is it when Nepgear is fighting alongside an army? If that's the case, there has to be a better way to word that!

It has to do with the scale of the operation. Wave 1 was a platoon/company level skirmish. Army Scale is when we have regiments or divisions duking it out on the battlefield. Target: Army lets Starshine target an entire individual mass combat unit at once. The current wave is split into separate units for the explicit purpose of getting around that.

No, Target: Army still applies to the current situation.

Lost was saying that the "get 30 attacks per turn during an army action" effect of Supremacy Zone has a completely different activation condition than Target: Army. The confusion is what that trigger condition is.

Umm... lemme work through this real quick.

Starshine is definitely MVP here.
I calculated the Reavers and Hell Beasts total damage absorption to see how much damage from the Starshine attack was soaked up by the collective mass of enemies. It's why I just didn't bother writing out the health.

Also, all Mook enemies loose Resilience equal to a high-order existence's existence bonus and take extra damage because of that.

Starshine's Anti-Army ability activates if there are more than 150 enemies backed together in an area. Then it tries splattering everything.

An army action is a massive event that has special background rules that you have to take into account during voting periods. More on that later.
