Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

So this is Siscolle now?
Let's see... there's our starter Big Sister Rei, then we got Carnage and Truth, followed by Gabriel. We got lucky with the quest choices and got San as our comrade in little-sisterhood and now we got the Event Only drop that is Sega.

Next we just need to get the Judgment sisters and we'll have all the Sisters available for now.

You personally had a less-than-pleasant conversation with Commander Mason about following orders and the importance of such regardless of anything else. You manage to get through the conversation without decking him in the face. Somehow.

I vote we start calling this guy Commander Ikari? Because he is that much of an asshole.

Seriously Team GEAR like saved Goddess White's life because going by this:
Turns out repeatedly giving birth to xenomorph was not conductive to one's stamina, which was why the poor girl was unconscious when you found her: the pain had knocked her out. But now that she no longer had to worry about one ripping its way out of her, she had reverted to her human form in order to conserve what was left of her strength
suggests she wouldn't have survived much longer. They also rescued Gabriel, you know that newbie Angel who was just assigned to the base today, from certain death if she got implanted with a Facehugger. Then they saved Solid Core from being captured, and almost certainly brainwashed, by the Unified Darkness which is really important given her Divine affinity.

Finally they captured and freed Solid Drive from enemy control which both deprived the Unified Darkness of a top ten tier soldier and gained them a top ten tier soldier. Oh and don't forget about the crazy PR boost from Solid Core emerging out of nowhere and joining Counter Force. Or that they now know resurrected soldiers can be freed of their brainwashing and returned to the side of light.

Basically Team GEAR's actions turned a potentially war ending clusterfuck into one of, if not the, greatest victories the Unified Light has had in a very long time. They should be getting medals not berated for disobeying stupid orders.

Well, unless we suddenly get an influx of money (hah) we've got nowhere to go, so we kind of have to stay at the base.

You remember we're getting paid a lot right?
2) Is Nepgear getting paid for all this? If so, how much?
Yes. And a lot.

Hmm.

Come to think of it though, I'm pretty sure Synchronize is going to be something we need to trigger the Progenitor Frame.

Whatever the fuck it is.
By now I'm half convinced the Progenitor Frame is a Giant Robot Super Mode for Anastasia. Or maybe just Super Armor, Infinite Stratos style.

Edit: Wait a minute, if it really does require Synchronize to activate, does this mean Nepgear will have to Gattai with someone to use it?

Yeah, I can't see Team GEAR not getting medals for all the shit they just pulled.

[X]Gabriel's going to have to wait on her armor. She'd be the least creepy to post on Nep-watch.

[X] Plan Across The Board

Honesty with what happened, I'm surprise there not much of a reaction to what they did. You would think PR and media would kill for all the detail, I mean what happened would hugely boost morale and free up opportunity. There will be leaks if commander being a ass.

Actually I'm really interested in seeing the interaction between Sega and this version of Nowa. Perhaps showing her sister how to defeat a Nep by fighting with the older sister of Gear.

And do we know that? Will they even give us that money, seeing as how we're underaged?
They went against orders and the commander seems to be a bit of a hardass so while they might not get punished due to what they did, I cant see him putting them up for medals.
No, everybody else puts them up for medals, including the angel commander. Especially him, in fact, because we saved Gabriel from certain death.

There's no good way to deny the awesomeness of James and co. without absolutely wrecking base moral.

Never even attempted to make a character sheet for a glass cannon before, so hopefully I did this correctly.
One of the spells has a blank on its Ability list at the moment, because I have no clue how to sum up a trait like "Can't use magic at all for 24 hours after casting this spell" in one or two words.

Well, Anastasia is an expy of a character who's a mecha otaku and would love to make her hometown transform into a giant robot

Eh, Lina Inverse is a young woman, not a teenager. I really figured her for more of a Sorceress with those three affinities (because she's absolutely awesome and deserves three affinities for being able to toss off nukes at will), instead of a magical girl.

There are non-magical girl awesome people too...

Yeah, honestly, while they went against orders, in doing so, they stopped the enemy from getting two-to-three new Greater Nightmares keyed off of Top Tier MGs, put down a Xenomorph Hive before it could hit critical mass, and successfully managed to flip a former Unaligned Front Top Tier and Most Definitely Not Solid Drive back onto our side.

And it was all very, very public. This was arguably one of the biggest wins in recent memory, especially since they had Definitely Not Solid Drive on reserve somewhere and she was spent without actually being a trap for us. Them shoveling it under the rug is extremely likely to cause problems.

Like, it's one thing if they try to minimize it for the sake of operational security. But them doing that and then throwing the book at Team GEAR after pulling victory out of a shitfest? That's a real good way to lose a powerful squad who can curbstomp Greater Nightmares and get them going Independent.

And the way things are going, if Nepgear goes independent, it won't be just Team Gear that follows, but also Sega and Rei. And where Rei goes, San will follow whether she wants to or not. That's a lot of firepower they'd be losing.

Actually, across the course of her adventures, Lina's age goes from 15 to 18 (without her appearance changing at all). This is true in both the anime and novel continuities (which are completely different after the second arc, when she's still 16)

And do we know that? Will they even give us that money, seeing as how we're underaged?

While technically they know Nepgear is underage because she's a new Magical Girl, have to be under 18 to get your powers, I just can't see them denying us pay for that. If only because lots of Magical Girls, who all start out underage, die within the first month. Not paying them would cause serious outrage. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason MGs get paid so much is because of their short life expectancy, remember the oldest a Magical Girl has lived to was 22.

As for Nepgear knowing....well she is a fluff ball so I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know. However it seems like something that would have came up in the various introductory stuff we learned in the first couple days. Besides odds are Nepgear would just groan about having no money only for a member of Team GEAR to point out that MGs actually get paid the big dollars.

Oh and on the vacation thing:
I'm going to probably do something like a beach mission or something after this so I can find any other events that might plothole-mosiac like this one.
we've got a confirmed Mandatory Beach Episode coming up.

On the other hand, following orders is important. Team GEAR could have easily been throwing themselves into a situation that they would have no hope of winning, getting themselves killed or captured, making the whole situation worse.

Remember, five of the most powerful MG's went it, and didn't come right back out.

I would make Giga Slave's third affinity ERROR because of it's other affects like Summoning an entity that could fucking own Cosmos.

Dropped that aspect as part of the process of melding together different settings.

Main parts I was trying to keep were holyshitwtfisthat and being an absolute last resort. That thing where Lina's hair loses its color for a while afterwards due to fully exhausting her magic provided a nice way to make it a last resort.

Also, if it wasn't obvious, the Magic Amplification ability is how I included the effect of the Demon Blood Talismans.

Odd to treat Ragna Blade as a basic attack though...
Well, that was more that I honestly just couldn't think of anything else to give her as a weapon. She does technically have a sword that she carries around sometimes, but its completely mundane and definitely not something she uses often. If I could think of a decent way to do it, I would have put all her regular elemental spells in the Weapon slot.
