Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

I see no issue with attempting diplomacy first, before resorting to fighting.

Talking is boring, I want to hit people.
Bad! *whaps*
In my case, I simply don't think that we'll be able to call the base, get Rei, and put her on speakerphone before everything goes straight to hell in a flaming handbasket. I'd prefer not to waste time.
You'll never know if you don't try. Also, if it does fail, we're going to plan Stall anyway, only we might have give us more time for another WEAPON to appear.

Perhaps I should have been clearer. I don't trust White or either of the Maidens to try ganking us while we're trying to call Rei, since we wouldn't be giving them our undivided attention. Let's face it, if they're willing to unleash a plague that will kill over half of humanity, killing someone while they're trying to call someone for a conversation is not that out of the picture.

[X] Plan Try and End this Peacefully

Diplomancy, goooooooooooo.

If I saw talking our way out of this as a viable option, I'd probably pick it. However, tensions are high in that room. Goddess White, Maiden East, & Maiden West are part of Shiva's group and Angel WEAPON is there to make sure their goal is foiled. Both sides are a) willing to kill one another and b) are solely focused on their goal. In the Shiva group's case, it's "get that virus and haul ass outta there before enemy reinforcements arrive." Trying to get San in contact with Rei will just contradict their objectives, thus it will fail.

With that being the case, I'll throw my hat into the ring and back up Reaper's plan as well.

[X] Help Angel WEAPON. That Virus is too dangerous to let go! It needs to be destroyed before any lives are lost.
-[X] Plan Stall like Crazy

[X] Purchase Interceptor Fire (50 XP)

So here's something I can't quite figure out: are there two WEAPONs counting Angel? Or three? I seem to recall reading that the WEAPONs take up three places on the Top 10 Magical Girls list, but for some reason I can't quite shake the feeling that there are only two WEAPONs.

@crystalwatcher, could we get a quick confirmation of how many WEAPONs there are? And if there are three, if both of the not-here WEAPONs are on their way, or only one?

They're 5-7. The maidens are 8 and 9.

While Goddess White was perfectly happy to let Angel WEAPON monologue about how stupid her plan is that was when she thought she had the advantage. The moment Angel WEAPON said this line:
My sister will be here shortly to help me: so time to make a choice, little lights.
she would have realized she's facing off against a ticking clock. There isn't any time for talking now.

@ReaperofInterest - I noticed a potential flaw in your calcs that could actually be quite beneficial to us.
West's base damage is pitiful, only a measly 500. Unfortunately, she gets 5 attacks per turn, so she'll be able to attack us twice without us intercepting her. Intercepting her attacks will reduce the incoming damage by 257 before the resilience, armored core, and no longer human damage reductions. Therefore, with her magic modifier rolling a 1, West's damage will be reduced from 501 to 244, which will be reduced to 14 by base resilience, which will be negated by Armored Core If her Magic Modifier rolls a 1000, then the incoming damage of 1500 will be reduced to 1243 by the Intercept, 1013 by the base resilience, 253 by the Armored Core, and finally to 127 by No Longer Human.

This doesn't take into account that Judgement negates Magic Modifies, including those of attacks:
Judgement: Alright, this one's my own and I'm only working off what I can tell about it here since apparently it doesn't come up that often. Seriously, no one knows what exactly it's supposed to do. As far as I can tell, it not only negates any extra backing someone gives their attack or defense, but totally negates it if certain conditions are met. I'm lucky I got such a thing for my basic attack...
now presumably this only applies to interceptions but it still means for those 3 attacks per turn we intercept they'll be completely negated thanks to:
Base Damage = 500
Less Intercept (257) = 243
Less Base Resilience (230) = 13
Less then 75% Health (337) = Attack Negated

which means that each turn we'll only be taking a maximum damage of 254 per turn, remember she has two more attacks then us, 200 of which should be healed by Gabrial's Presence of Light leaving just 54 damage per turn.

Of course it bares noting that I'm pretty sure the No-Sell threshold depends upon our current Health rather then our maximum Health. So with every bit of lost health our defense (kinda) gets weaker but since the only thing we No-Sell is so low it shouldn't matter.

I have just checked the database myself...and you're right. I didn't take Judgement into account.

I'll edit my original plan post with the calculations accounting for this in a few minutes. Thanks for pointing that out.

Here is a reference for three:
5, 6, & 7 are the three WEAPONs. They follow Gaia and are working towards her goal in their own way.
However I suspect only one is coming since Angel WEAPON says sister not sisters.
My sister will be here shortly to help me: so time to make a choice, little lights.

Oh and incidentally:
top ten list:
  1. Goddess Gold (Check)
  2. Goddess Grey (Check)
  3. Goddess White (Check)
  4. Goddess Red (Check)
  5. WEAPON
  6. WEAPON
  7. WEAPON
  8. Maiden of the East (Check)
  9. Maiden of the West (Check)
  10. Red Rose (Check)
So far we are at 7/10 and most impressively have met all of the Top 4. Odds are we'll be running into at least one more this mission, the WEAPON deployed, hopefully Number Five so we can have the full Top 5 checked off.

Be really cool though if all three WEAPONs were deployed here since that would finish off the list. Scary as fuck sure but definitely cool.

We are now at 8/10. Here is an updated list factoring in:
Angel WEAPON. Sixth strongest Magical Girl in existence. Second of the WEAPONs and Gaia's chosen hitwoman.

  1. Goddess Gold (Check)
  2. Goddess Grey (Check)
  3. Goddess White (Check)
  4. Goddess Red (Check)
  5. ??? WEAPON
  6. Angel WEAPON (Check)
  7. ??? WEAPON
  8. Maiden of the East (Check)
  9. Maiden of the West (Check)
  10. Red Rose (Check)
and best of all one of the remaining WEAPONs is going to show up soon! That will put Nepgear at 9/10 of the Top Ten List.

Pretty sure we're not even top 20 yet.
We're not there yet, but we're at the point where exponential growth is really starting to kick in.

If my quick and dirty math is roughly correct, level 10 Core Containment and one or two upgrades to the Purifier Beam should make us powerful enough to pose a decently serious challenge to Red Rose in a spar. And that's just our solo abilities, it doesn't take into account Core Connection.

Are you taking Rose Red's 'To Stand Amongst Gods' Ability into account? It reduces any damage she receives that's greater than 1000 by 99%. crystalwatcher wasn't kidding when he said it was bullshit.

That's final damage, so after applying Resilience, right?

Right now the Purifier Beam does 3 hits of 757 damage and her Resilience is 750, which means that final damage is 7. One upgrade should still leave the damage below 1000, and 2 or 3 upgrades should still leave the final damage below 1000.

On the other hand, just a bit more passive damage resistance will make us be capable of surviving Red Rose's attacks.

Food for thought:

It's Nepgear's third mission and she's already met all four Goddesses at this point! By the time it's the fourth mission, what's gonna come next on Watcher's Wild Ride!?

While this is a valid interpretation, there's two other things to consider:
1) When we first met with White, she said that'd she wants "to get out of this without a fight", indicating that she would prefer not to fight.
2) When Angel started revealing the truth, White got nervous. Combined with the fact that she tried to get us to help her, despite outnumbering and presumably out-gunning Angel, it's entirely possible she thinks we could be a threat.

These two things suggest that White will be willing to give us an opportunity to talk, if only to try and convince us not to interfere.

If we manage to survive this encounter with no casualties, we'll probably wind up pretty damn close to the bottom of that top 10 ourselves too.
I asked about Nepgear's rank a while ago — it seems like we have a fair bit more to go.
But on the bright side, we're hitting the exponential part of our growth and we already know some of our future abilities are just bullshit. (Segarite core)
What's a rough estimate of Nepgear's ranking among Magical Girls?
Roughly within the top 500 right now. As in, she registers, but isn't a heavy hitter.

Rankings are given based on a mixture of raw output, durability, and magical skill. The Top 50 are considered the peak of the totem pole, but once you hit the top 20 the difference becomes defined by leagues.

#21 would be no match at all against #20. Red Rose's abilities are par for the course when it comes to them.

From what we know of the big leagues so far, and it's very likely they have important trump cards hidden, I figure we need, bare minimum, the following to qualify:

Purifier Beam Level 15: This gets us up to a Base Damage 5,743 which is around the range big names seem to have. Also unlocks something new which, going by previous cases, is likely to big a pretty big power jump.

Celestial Severance Level 10: This gets us up to 51,200 damage, along with another unlock, which is good since most the top girls seem to have some kind of OP "Kill Everything" spell.

Indestructible Core: All the big players have either WTF big HP pools, some kinda of ability to make their smaller HP go the same distance, or in some cases like Goddess Gold's both. This should (hopefully) be ours since it's rather far* down the upgrade tree.

*Iron + Steel + Mythril + Adamantium Cores, Core Amplifier to unlock Core Containment, and 10 levels of Core Containment come to a total of 1,225. Throw in Indestructible Core's cost of 850xp and you get a total of 2,075 aka just more then Segarite Core.

We've also gotten quite a few major upgrades since then, such as Core Connection. We also don't know if indirect things such as Core Connection even factor into those rankings.

I specifically brought up Red Rose, because she has unusually low stats for her ranking, but has a completely bullshit ability that makes it so that a tank who can just barely get past her Resilience is probably a much tougher matchup for her than someone with can deal massive amounts of damage.

So on our third mission, we met Gaia, Goddess White, the Maiden of the East, the Maiden of the West and WEAPON Angel.

Rei is never going to let us out of her sight ever again.

Considering how much xp we're gaining from this mission, we'll probably curbstomp Judgement Core again in our rematch. I wonder if seeing our absurd growth rate, even compared to herself, will convince her to join the party for a while just to see how the hell we train so effectively.
