Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

(And isn't bothered by the fact that Grey's ambulatory corpse is basically a puppet, she still has her /beloved sisteru/ back alive),
To be fair to Red, she did bring Grey back literally perfectly, except for the mind control rune. That's really Gray. She's really alive. She's just very mistaken about what's going on right now. Speaking of, that's omake material right there.

The weakness to this rant is that it assumes White and the Maidens are out to help humanity.

No, believe me, I was aware of that. As much as I'd like to assume that Goddess White is benevolent, and is really just that much of an idiot, it's a bit of a stretch. My actual conclusion was that she's probably just trying to kill a lot of stuff, all at once, potentially to empower her lord, because mass death empowering certain deities is a tried and true plot device.

I'm really not sure why they thought we might help them, though.

Except that "Mind Control Rune" kind of makes Grey little more than a puppet for her. Even if it's one that can run autonomously.

And she could probably remove it at this point without destroying everything--but she doesn't, because she probably thinks that Grey'll just get killed again if she does, so she keeps the Mind Control Rune on for "Her own good"

Speaking of Grey, if we could hold her down for a few rounds, we might actually be able to get rid of the mind control rune through Core Purge. It damaged Candy Heart's after all. Or at least, we're pretty certain it did. Of course, we'd have to actually stay alive long enough for the rune to be destroyed, but hey. One step at a time.

I count "knowing she's going to have to" as "planning".

Unless she's planning on holding back the next couple of times?
She's trying to buy White as much time as she can to get them back. Thing is, sooner or later she'll have to do something about them or the Unified Light's front is going to implode and Earth is going to get invaded. She doesn't have much a choice in the matter, but at the rate things are going it looks to her like she'll have to kill her sisters in order to save everything else.

She's trying to be idealistic, but the rest of the setting isn't letting her get away with it.

Except White is trying to do the same thing, making her Rei's enemy as well...

...Can we call Rei, and have her try and convince San not to go through with this?

Unless I'm miss comprehending the winning plan is entirely based on limited character sheets for white and co's leading to the obvious outcome of nepgear getting killed from their abilities? Or it's depending on them acting like fools in regards to target selection? Needless to say the last a similar plan was proposed it ended with the black knight killing us.

I'm super excited to see where this next update goes. As it stands, we can't possibly not help because is San-loss gets her way everyone is dead, and Angel WEAPON can't win alone. Looking at the numbers, though, I'm not sure how we can actually help no matter what clever plans Reaper and everyone came up with. Ysarsid is pretty much right in that regard. I think it will be super-duper cool and interesting seeing what Team GEAR actually manages.

Or it might just be an instant TPK, but the GM wouldn't... put us in a situation we... couldn't handle. Uh.

No, it's based on knowledge of our and our allies capabilities, logic, hope, and the knowledge that a second WEAPON is coming. We don't have to win, we just have to make sure we don't lose. Plus we're not using Core Purge this time and one-shotting or heavily damaging anyone, which was the main reason we died during our first Bad End.

We died because we couldn't Dodge and James was busy fighting zombies instead of blocking for us. The Ultimate Tanktm won't be so distracted this time.

Probably. It's a level of mental commitment. As long as she holds out hope that she can reunite her sisters, then she's not going to kill them. But she's got to weight the lives of a lot of other people against that.

My theory is that she made a deal with some deity (Shiva) to get her family back together, who's then proceeding to manipulate her for it's own ends. We obviously haven't seen much of her, but in my head I saw her as rather stressed, getting pushed and pushed, doing rather questionable things for The Right Reasons. Exceedingly powerful, but in over her head and digging herself into a hole. IIRC, one of the defining character traits of the Goddess's is that they are Idealistic, so she may be doing lot's of questionable things if she thinks it's for The Greater Good.

She would want other people to fight on her side to make herself feel like she's not doing something wrong, that other people would help her because she's doing something good.

And she wouldn't have come straight for us in the first place if we hadn't drawn more aggro than the rest of the group combined.

Generate enough threat, and the enemy will go straight for you. Core Purge happens to do that nicely.

You can yes. But she's not close enough to join in on the fight when it blows.
Wouldn't we have called in backup the moment we saw Gaia or did we actually have to do a write-in? I would imagine any wiff of a divine entity would justify for immediate Rei backup. (Even more so when White was revealed to be there later)
