Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

(Gaia shows up to troll us with a gigabeast)

:( The ride never ends.
Did you really expect it to?
...Rei is never going to let Nepgear out on her own again. In just thirteen days and three missions Nepgear has ran into Goddess Grey, Goddess Red and Gaia. Considering that we're almost certainly going to encounter Goddess White and quite possibility one or more of the Maidens of the Apocalypse....

Either Rei will be permanently joining Team GEAR or she'll be attached to Nepgear like a limpet.
Oh, definitely. Honestly, I'm worried that she'll try to kill the Commander once she finds out: not only was Nepgear in a situation way over her head, again, only without her around to protect her, he also cost her her best chance to see San in years.

She is going to need many, many cuddles.

Oh, @crystalwatcher, will we be calling back to base about Gaia being involved automatically? It's kinda important, and I think it bumps it up the priority list several dozen rungs.

Oh, and weren't we suppose to meet Rei outside after the meeting was done?

Yeahhh... That thing will Shred us.

Team GEAR or no.

Let's avoid it if we can.

Well we could actually take it on.

Human GEARs + Nepgear combined, assuming you can synchronize like this against one large foe instead of hundreds of regular sized ones, do 15,870 damage which drops Scops health down to 13,938. Gabrial can pull off two 8,000 damage attacks each of which drop it's health by 6,068 for a combined 12,136 which leaves it with just 1,802 health. Honestly Truth is the weak link here since unless she uses one of her [Sense] No Evil spells she can't even scratch the thing let alone do the 3,734 damage required to finish it off.

It's just a stupid move since it seems to be on our side and given what our likely opposition is...

Also, I'm going to campaign for getting Applied Teachings. Yes, I have read the efficiency posts, it's just that I want to get it so we don't have to bring it up anymore. That and for its effects.

Honestly despite my posts on it's inefficiency I don't particular object to getting Applied Teachings, which I somehow keep misremembering as Applied Techniques. It's just that right now Purifier Beam gives three times as much bang for your buck and is finally at the point where it starts rapidly growing.

Personally I recommend grabbing 3 more Levels of Purifier Beam (330 xp) before getting Applied Teachings since that brings Nepgear up to 2,553 Damage per attack which puts her in the upper end of Base Damage we've seen. That leaves her in a good position to then investigate any of the flashy techniques Applied Teachings might unlock.

@crystalwatcher - I think you, or worse Nepgear, forgot something really important:
For a moment, Rei's fury is almost palatable. And you believe she would actually strike the Commander, despite his reasonable argument. Then the moment is past, and she stalks from the tent in a fury.

"Nepgear, once you're done in here, meet me outside." And then she's out the door.

I just realized. We get similar abilities to the other Cores right? So if we get all 3 cores and all 3 of them get the Core Connection. Do they stack and boost everyone's stats by a factor of 25? Because that would be awesome.

[X] Leave the Scorpion be. So long as it's not attacking innocent people then you'd rather not fight it.

and

[X] Purchase Applied Teachings (200 XP)

If there is going to fighting, it will be a Urban CQC fest. Odds are that we will be forced into extended melee combat. Applied Teachings would give a significant increase in our "not dying" ability, primarily do to the parrying ability. We're not the DPS source in this case.

5x5x5 is 125, not 25. 25 would just be two cores.
more likely though, they's stack additively, so a max of x15 with three cores.

The orange bit just kinda has me scratching my head to try and figure out what you're trying to say.
I'm confused that your confused. I thought it was pretty straight forward.

Poor Nepgear was a little more focused on making out with her team.

You will/did. As it is, any significant backup won't get there in time to be useful.

Well are you saying that "Truth's glee and amusement meant she didn't worry too much about it", or that or that "Truth's glee and amusement didn't worry her too much"?
It seems like you originally intended to phrase it a different way, then changed it, but didn't get all of it, so I can't tell which one you're saying.

The latter.

Oh, and I suggest putting a "with" between "but" and "the".
That'd probably make it better.

...ouch. Rei is not going to be happy.

Seriously today is a very bad day for her. First off her little sister*, who has shown a habbit of getting in way over her head, is sent off without her. Then her little sister forgets about her. Said little sister then runs into Rei's long lost sister, the one she hasn't even seen in years, on that very same mission Rei wasn't allowed to attend. Finally when Rei does get there her long lost sister is already gone.

The only thing that could really make this worse for poor Rei would be if her little sister was seriously injured, or died but then we'd just reset so it would likely have minimal effects.

*Nepgear has basically become Rei's little sister.

If you do that, put a comma after "growing"
added.

Don't tempt me.

we're literally a plushy, we could totally survive some limb loss.

Actually....considering our body is literally made of magic, could we straight up make new limbs? I don't really want to test the idea out, just curious if it's possible.
