It's a figure of speech. "We have X for days" is like "We have a lot of X."

from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged ep 6:
Alucard: Anyways, you need to whip out that third eye of yours.
Seras: But Master, I only have two eyes...
Alucard: No, you have three eyes . You're a vampire
Seras: Do...you have three eyes?
Alucard: Sweetheart, I've got so many eyes. Eyes for days
Seras: Eyes for days..?
Alucard: Eyes for days

PS: this took way longer than I probably should have spent on it, but considering what happened right after that joke on the video I didn't want to chance the mods.

Oooh. I thought you were actually asking, not playing into the joke.

You forgot the bayonets.

Wonder what's the condition of the Celestial Plains if Ammy is down on earth too..

"Mr. Barnes, is it?" Old Mr. Henrick interrupted. "Your voice carries, you know. Good for a courtroom. Not so good when you're threatening lawsuits with intent to bankrupt the other party. Do the words 'moral turpitude' mean anything to you?" Mr. Barnes' mouth snapped shut with a click. "And as for implying that Taylor here's not an upstanding student-- I have no idea what her grades are like. But I know what she's like. She does chores and yard work for the missus and I. She's out walking her dog, every day, rain or shine. She's out gardening an' planting trees in poorer sections of town, just because she can and because they need a bit of color." Old Mr. Henrick snorted. "You want to bluster and yell about slander and character defamation, you should get your own ducks in a row, first."
I looked up the definition of moral turpitude and I am satisfied.
Mhm. Some lawyer. Guess it's always good to have one on call, huh?"

"Alan Barnes?"

"Uh... yes?" Danny turned to face Velocity, and the speedster actually took a step back. "You... know him?"

"I know that less than an hour ago, he was accusing my daughter of being a drug-addicted gang member while covering for his own daughter's attacks on mine, then threatened to sue me into poverty when I protested. He only stopped when he was threatened with disbarment for dishonest conduct."

Velocity stopped chewing his granola bar. He swallowed, carefully. "...maybe we should go see Armsmaster. And the Director. They're going to want to hear this."

Danny did not smile-- he showed his teeth. "Gladly."
Well Sophia, it looks like you've just been cornered.

Armsmaster is gonna be spying on Lung as he does, and then at the weekly situation briefing after the eventual Lung at the Shrine meeting:

"We also have a lead on our suspected new Master, This girl Taylor Hebert many ABB gangmembers have been refering to her as Miko, has been seen having Tea with Lung and Oni Lee, and they act deferential to her, suspected Master Rating 11"

I don't see anything for Danny to be getting a yes for.............he pretty much hung Taylor out to dry until a stranger verified what she just said.
Danny is useless as a father, I bet he doesn't miss a thing at the job but can't be bothered to take care of his own kid. Danny is a deadbeat father.

His first action was to suspect Taylor first. Jesus Danny.:facepalm:

Danny, Danny, Danny.

For advice on how to talk to Talyor go to Hannah, not Colin. I don't care how efficient his advice is, social interaction he can not.

Actually, I think Dragon could give Danny advice on Taylor.

Great, I started this as a joke and now I realized just how bad Danny is handling his problems with Taylor. You would think he would ask some one (Ms. Yamada?) for help with Taylor instead of standing around until something blows up.

Now I want to know why the Protectorate and PRT were not keeping an eye on the only family member of one of their capes. A bad family life would be bad PR if it was discovered that a Protectorate member was ignoring their family. Especially one being bullied like Taylor. Someone dropped the ball and I can not fully blame Danny for it.

I enjoyed the smack down layed on Allen. However I was sorry of disappointed that it wasn't Taylor solving her problem, but her neighbour being the superintendent of the school. That part kinda came out of left field and felt like a deus ex machina.
Well it *is* a deus ex machina. There is literally a god machinating in order to help her out, which makes it in-universe and therefor reasonable.

Yamada is not originally stationed in Brockton Bay. She came to BB on demand in canon, I think.

The Protectorate can't help Danny's home life if he didn't tell them anything. I don't know the PRT will involve themselves even in their cape's home life without their permission, but seeing how Danny acts in this fic I doubt he will give the impression that he can't handle whatever his problem with Taylor is.

Not to mention that Amaterasu-Omikami, Sun Goddess of Unity in Wolf form. Is computer-literate and fully capable of ordering internationally online.

"The living room window was already open. Her father's computer was on, and Sunny was sitting in her father's office chair. As Taylor watched, her backpack slipping from suddenly-loose fingers, the wolf clicked the computer mouse a few times, tongue lolling. Sunny tilted her head towards Taylor, still grinning. Taylor did not endure.

"YOU ARE A DOG!"" - From part 7.

Deus Ex Machina is canon.

You know, I'm honestly surprised that the E88 hasn't done anything, yet. You'd think that they'd have heard of the white girl who's fixing up a shrine in the ABB territory, and being looked after by ABB members, on the orders of Oni Lee. Though, I suppose that school hasn't really been in long enough for any of the younger members to hear rumors, or anything like that.

Shard or not his code name is Chess something or the other and he missed all of the misery Taylor has been going through? We may have missed a lot but it looks like Danny has no clue about Taylor other than what she looks like. :o:p
You know, usually, when you show up, I get lots of Yandere vibes... but you've been incredibly reasonable, in this thread.

Looks like Ammy's magic works in the real world, too. :p

...That joke may have been in poor taste. Was it in poor taste? @Shadowcub can get very vocal about when she's upset with a character or situation, but I wasn't sure if it was okay to point it out...

As long as she's not stroking the hate boner, again, then its fine.

That doesn't really relate: Deus Ex Machina means God from the Machine, specifically because the god enters the scene of the play through the use of a machine and then solves the problem. A god using a machine doesn't match.

Probably also difficult to really intrude on ABB territory to that extent. Not without causing a major scene.

Yeah, poor taste. Just a bit.

I can see the Hebert martyr complex kicking in with Danny. Trying to protect Taylor by having the Protectorate keep away from her.

As for the PRT, knowing Taylor's luck, if they did anything, they sent the same lazy-ass SOB who would have been Sophia's probation officer. Did the minimum work, said Taylor was fine and hasn't check on Taylor since.

You know, this makes perfect sense for Danny. He loves his daughter, will do anything to protect her, will bring down the wrath of GOD HIMSELF on anyone that would cause her harm... but cannot talk to her if her life depended on it.

Great characterization.
