[X] Stay the 'night' and try to obtain more information
-[X] Try to figure out how aware they are of the present and of their current state
-[X] Is there anything they want?
-[X] Try to figure out what's dangerous in the area now (and back then)
-[X] Worst case, Boodwish True Seeing, Blink (to be a little etheral) and maybe Speak With Dead

I still think we should go back and ress someone from those scavengers, but that's not something to do now, that's something to do when we have a day we don't expect any trouble on.

If you are leaving it open might as well do the interlude
Not only would it break up the narrative, it would mess up the schedule. The people who were supposed to do the Night's Watch restoration earlier this month are off doing other important projects right now.
Not so far. Mind steel is a lot more likely to find by the side of the road than eggs.
Fair. Hopefully we're lucky enough to find the residence of one of the Forty, and we can find eggs that aren't too badly damaged.

Not gonna throw malarys a bone?
Alright.

[] Stay the night
-[] Have act the part of an overly curious child being tutored by malarys as a way to dig up information without being suspicious.
-[] Ask to see a map (in a non awkward way)
-[] Try to figure out more about what was going on in the city. Rituals? Divine festivals? Magical experiments?
-[] World politics would be nice too.
-[] Ask our codex Archon companion if he as any ideas for helping lay then to rest.
-[] Ask Dany if she can compel them to rest with turning if they get dangerous.

Bam boom.

Edit: Much improved.

Heads up, everyone who voted for me, I'm changing my vote. @TalonofAnathrax, there is no need for Viserys to Blood Wish True Seeing, as he is in the company of several people who can cast the spell on him, if needed. Greater Blink might also be unreliable, as we learned when the effects of the Doom on the local region were worked out. We can protect ourselves with Wings of Cover and Resilient Sphere, if necessary. Both are Force effects and should no-sell any incorporeal shenanigans.

If we end up fighting the ghosts I hope we can make them tell us where nearby loot is before we have to get rid of them.

Anyway, calling this now:
"The way I heard it three days before we reached the city gates the Aedil's young children and their tutor vanished clean away as though they had gone up in smoke, and no one was able to find any of them, not the priests of Balerion calling for justice, nor the mages with their silver glasses. I even heard told that the seers up in the tower wouldn't even talk about it. So they closed the gates so none could slip by 'em. Supposedly their mother went out looking for them with her dragon and the beast ate some folk, citizens even, I heard. Maybe the Aedil's as worried about his wife being tried as his missing children..." Throughout the conversation the words become more and more rushed, tumbling over each other. By the end they feel like far more than a recitation of gossip. Odd how much he would know from presumably talking to the gate guards.
We'll find the tutors and the children as recruitable people in some form. Maybe they're trapped in some kind of stasis.

Fingers crossed for recruitment.

@Duesal, those kids will be warped monsters or sad ghosts.

Pretty sure we shouldn't risk breaking the self-imposed illusion the souls are under or risk them acting violently.

We are better off playing the hunger dragon and move on, the less we have to directly deal with unquiet dead the better.

Hey, I can hope. I'm betting on them being wholly removed from Valyria before the Doom and/or protected from the Doom, and thus being preserved in their original state. It wouldn't be the only time stuff like that happened. The fiendish lords went on a recruitment spree right before and during the Doom. Abraxas tried to get that one prophet relative of ours. Siduri's father was recruited by the Dukes of Hell in an effort to avoid being consumed. So if the kids just vanished then we might be able to get them back, and not as warped monsters or sad ghosts.

Of course, this could just be wishful thinking, in which case I'll just redirect my efforts into stripping the place of all the loot.

OK Vote closed. I'm going to try and get another part up tonight, but no promises

Well, that's a bit shorter and a bit wider then a Liberty Ship. It should even out with the thing being armoured a bit.

So that's roundabout 4,000 metric tons of hell-iron.
A bit of overdue math on my part.

So we had 4,000 metric tons of Hell-Iron from the Devil Hulk. That translates to 8,818,490 lbs of Hell-Iron. We used 600 lbs to forge 300 lbs of Valyrian Steel, leaving us with 8,817,890 lbs of Hell-Iron.

We have enough for another 4,408,945 lbs of Valyrian Steel. :)

This is amazing on all levels, but that said I would never say no to robbing more devils. Devils are wonderful enemies.

~2200 tons then, huh...

So we actually can gear up all of legions in VS fullplate, then?
Yey.
Suck it, Euron.

Fungal Pods with devil blood can't come soon enough.

Also, am I the only one who noticed a particular absence of Azel?
Is it because it's another fetch-quest/adventure and he's sick of those?

We are an intelligent dragon. Unless you make it clear that we are a mage polymorphed as one, I would not recomend this to sell the ruse.

Intelligent dragons mean panic for Valyrians. It means that something has gone horribly wrong.

I didn't really mind that much. Either DP reasons that Viserys knows enough to keep his mouth shut and we get the info we need, or the spectres go insane when the dragon pipes up and talks and we get to murder them all over again and hopefully take all their loot, whatever they might have.

We win either way. :D

...saaaay, @DragonParadox, would it have been a reasonable in-character decision to bring those soul-nets of devils here with us, just in case?

Such small retcon would not hurt the narrative, but.... Just in case, yes.

I pity these guys enough to try to not make them insane. They already have a lot of suffering from reliving their collective memories before a world-spanning catastrophe.

But I can't fight against the looting tendencies.

Winning vote
