I don't think the Whales are CR 16, I don't remember their CR but that don't sound right.
That's the entry on them. I think we fluffed it as that being the ocassional Bull whale that grows up leads counter attacks the Pirate Captain talked about. You know the big Pod leaders.

Makes you wonder if hunting whalers would actually be CR appropriate now doesnt it?

@DragonParadox Can you tell us roughly what CR an average Fire Whale is, apparently their entry is CR16, and that sound way too high, and if that is the case for even the biggest Bull, then the average Pod leader should be CR12 or so, in which case spending the gems to acquire gear, might be more efficient for them than hiring guards.

If it turn out they are that high CR on average, or even CR10 or something, we might be able to get the Shaitan give them a loan without interest for buying gear, to be paid back with non harmful harvesting of their gems, and loot from Whalers, because if they are that strong without gear, then with gear to make them more effective fighters, they should be able to give the Whalers a great surprise, which would harm the Efreeti both in the short term with lost Whalers, and in the long term, with the Whales suddenly being a faction that matter and hate the Efreeti.

Our mission is to harm Efreeti interest, creating a new faction in the Plane of Fire that hates them certainly qualify.

Mmm. One hand snakes are not really group creatures. On the other hand they are not really against proximity either.

Gods I believe are different creatures. Generally against living together, well, none I remember ever lived with another god.

Depending on how strong Fire Whales are I have 2 plans for my harvesting scheme, plan 1 if they aren't that strong on average, is hiring guards and/or paying bounties on Whalers, if they are CR8-10 on average, then my plan, is to get them to use the projected profits from harvesting as collateral, and take a loan from either the Shaitan or Djinni, to gear up the best fighters in the pods, the Shaitan's will probably give them the loan because it will harm the Efreeti, and if the Shaitans think it's too public for their deniability desire, then the Djinni will probably give them the loan, because Whalers hunting sentients are abhorrent, and the harvesting is not a risky investment, it's near sure to pay out, there's also the possibility that the Shaitan's actually pay the loan, but pretend it's the Djinni paying it out of goodness, thereby making it seem like Djinni generosity, instead of a planned strike on the Efreeti, the Djinni are after all probably one of the easier places, to get a loan to defend yourself against evil, especially if you have proof you will be able to repay it.

No matter which of the plans we end up going with, the Shaitan should be very happy about this, because whether the Whales are paying mercenaries or buying gear, the Whales will be stern opponents of the Efreeti, which mean this is pretty much the equivalent, of getting multiple tribes in open rebellion against the Efreeti, seeing as while the Whales aren't working for the Efreeti, they are certainly being oppressed by them, and this market will allow them to rise up against the Efreeti, who are killing them for profit, so arranging this should get us a big bounty payout.

I propose that regardless of if they go with hiring mercenaries or kitting themselves out, we loan them half of the bounty money we get from arranging this, so they can startup things more effectively.

Since they are so thematically similar sure, we'll make an expedition to the general magic item creation rule
Ah, I wasn't asking for a price cut, just if it's generally feasible. Forgot about that rule entirely.
So awesome.

I want to make friends with it and make a habit of feeding Efreeti to it to make it multiply.
I'm pretty sure spreading a species of undead abominations and treating them like beloved pets is somewhere on the Evil Overlord List...

As one of those things you should do anyway, so the overlord-lifestyle doesn't get too boring.

Let's be honest, nobody who follows the whole list could enjoy his dark reign.

Daw, why are there two?

Because there is also a CR 16 version in another source book.

Is was almost certain Bhaella was this whale: Fire Whale – d20PFSRD

Because there was something in the description at first that made me certain she had the Flaming Body ability and more than that because she certainly has Planeshift, which the lesser whales don't have.

Edit: And also because her species seemed to be intelligent.

She is not the average whale.

She used that ability to essentially dig a huge trench or two for us, I think.

@DragonParadox
Would you consider to mix and match a bit?

I don't really care about the CR, but several of Bhaella's traits make it very obvious that she is the 16-variant, at least in terms of special abilities.
Also only the CR 16 variant has flight and burrow and only they have the gems in the stomach as fluff.

Pets, as long as they are so much weaker than you that they are not a terrible problem if turning against you, are in my eyes a forgivable vice.
I liked Glyra too.
Yeah, but self-replicating murderpets that can slaughter small towns of normies are a bit of a problem. Like alcoholism in wizards: owlbears are a fun idea until they depopulate small villages and breed in the sewers!

This is like the Dragon for Viserys: stupidly dangerous time sink.

That's just tacky though.
I dislike the "dragon on a dragon" mostly for stylistic reasons, secondary because they are rare and each one should go to rider using its fullest potential.
And because fucking timesink.
I'm personally not keen on it for the same reasons.

And I sincerely doubt that Varys will like it to be replaced by a full-blooded sibling.
