I have been checking the D&D rules for poison and they are... insane.

People can apparently shake off deadly poisons more than half the time.

Then I looked a little farther into alchemcal stuff and discovered that the heart of a 15HD Chromatic Dragon is apparently worth 6 gold. Is someone farming the things?

A 15HD Dragon could burminate a small kingdom.

I'm going to have to do a lot of house ruling in the vein of "if a human drinks a cup full of hemlock s/he is dead barring divine intervention or other magic"

Ruling on poisons in this quest: Contact poisons (the sorts that are applied to weapons) are going to work like in the D&D source material. Ingested poisons however are going to be much more deadly with the caveat that they effects will take some time to manifest*. These poisons can still be saved against by things with inhuman constitutions. (Outsiders for instance do not require food or drink the contents of their stomach's teleporting back to their native planes)

*Guessing how much time that is requires skill in Alchemy of Craft (poison making)

[X] Get to know the regulars of the Windward society

I don't think we need to purchase the supplies until we've cleaned the attic, and I believe we can learn more about what is potentially up there from the patrons first.

[X] Get to know the regulars of the Windward society

Gotta get those quest-givers....

Part XLVIII: The Wind Blowing into the West
The Wind Blowing into the West

Twenty-First Day of the Tenth Month 289 AC

There are half-a-dozen regulars of the Windward Society that still take their lunch or dinner at the club, sometimes both. They are polite and cause no problems for the servants. Generally they are very set in their desires for food and drink though sometimes one of them will wish to relive some culinary adventure and require more effort of the staff.

These are the regulars:

Aubert Flowers: A bastard of the Reach that has been banished since the Fourth Blackfyre Rebelinon better than fifty years ago. It seems to you his eyes follow you a bit too closely for comfort, though it could just as easily be your imagination. Even if he does suspect something aproaching him may confirm his suspicions.

Grazdan the Grim: A former slave in Mereen that manged to rise up in bloody rebellion seize the ship that was transporting him and, along with his fellow former slaves, bring the newly renamed Blood Price to port in Bravos. So impressed were the Braavosi at his act that mirrored the very founding of their city that he was given many honors and no small amount of coin. He administered his funds wisely if not brilliantly and along with Koron was once a scourge upon the slavers out of Volantis, occasionally making the longer trip to prowl the waters near the remaining Gyscari cities.

Koron Redmane: A man who's wide shoulders hint at great strength in his youth. His features would not seem odd in the more Andal dominated parts of Westeros but he is a native Braavosi. He made his fortune hunting slavers for bounties put up by the government. Sadly he was every bit as good at spending money as he was at making it off the backs of slavers so that fortune does not currently amount to much. His ship the Seeker has been sold to his former first mate because in Koron's words she would miss the sea.

Lohos Saan: A member of the far flung Saan clan most well known for never having quite managed to figure out that the saying: "the first king was a lucky pirate" implies that the kings should give up piracy. Lohos is the odd one out in that he always was more interested in seeing what is beyond the horizon than plundering it, which is not to say he did not done enough plundering to keep him comfortable in his old age.

Menel Goldentooth: A slim aristocratic looking Lorathi with a passion for charts and maps of all types. He supposedly once traveled as far as Yi TI. He has quite a bit of wealth from his days as a Merchant Venturer. In temperament he is generously absent-minded having once handed Dany a full Volentine Honor for fetching a book from the library for him. Seeing the chargined look on the face of the nearest maid Dany turned around and handed the coin to her.

Tor Longstrider: The oldest of the remaining Windwalkers for all his eyes still glitter alertly beneath thick silver eyebrows Perhaps the most dangerous of your guests Tor has always had an interest in the arcane gaining the mostly ironically used name of "the magician." As an actual sorcerer you are not inclined to so easily dismiss this reputation. On the other had with the danger as even comes potential gain...

Do you strike up a conversation with any of them:

[] No
[] Yes (write-in which)

OOC: You can talk to as many as you want.

[X] Yes
-[X] Tor Longstrider: Talk about your interest in magical items and where to buy/sell them. Has he heard any interesting rumors about magic lately?
-[X] Menel Goldentooth: Ask about his travels in far-off lands. Maybe he will show you some of his maps?
-[X] Grazdan the Grim: Does he still hunt slaves? If not, why?

It would be useful if you guys wrote what is the general purpose of the conversations too.

For almost everyone : Small talk.
For the Blackfyre dude : Wanna revolt again ?
For the Mage : Do you want to look at my .. magic ? *wink, wink* :V

[X] Yes
-[X] Tor Longstrider
--[X] Subject : Interesting place (desert, valyria, ... (for knowledge of where to go search for our prestige class))
-[X] Menel Goldentooth

--[X] SUbject : Place where there is magic (once again for our prestige class).

Now I want to buy a boat to go corsairing against the slavers.

How much would a boat cost ? (Who need an equipage when we have a mage and 2 sorcerers ? They can magic all over that bitch to make it work).

[X] Plan Merchant expedition for Old Valyria and Volantis.

[X] Yes
-[X] Everyone, present yourself and your sister as bastard from Lysani or Westeros if we cant pull off the Lysani one. Mention how you look forward to host so much wisdom, and that if they think of anything you should know you will listen keenly. Especially look towards Aubert Flowers.

-[X] Menel Goldentooth; talk about maps and exploits, and trade. Try to near the subject of Volantis and old Valyria. Then proceed to lead the subject towards magic.

-[X] Tor Longstrider; Ask him about his title of 'the magician' and ask if he perhaps could show your sister a few tricks. Also mention how she is quite handy with a deck of cards.

-[X] Aubert Flowers, Whenever feels appropriate strike up a conversation between only the two of you on your shared plight of being bastards far from home. Probe on how he came to be banished and if he have any tales from the Blackfyre rebellion.

[X] Plan Pirate

[]Grazdan the Grim Interested in his past and if he still goes out hunting slavers, or knows people who do. How much does a expedition cost? How are they Financed?

[]Koron Redmane also interested in learning about his pirate hunting past. If he knows people who still go out. How much does a expedition cost? How are they Financed?

[]Menel Goldentooth interested in maps and the best routes to the other great cities. How does one finance a trading expedition? Also prevent someone form cheating you and get back your part of the profits?

[]Lohos Saan ask about the cities he has seen and which he liked the most, which had the best ships, the most merchants, and the ones.

ok tentative plan on setting up contacts to one day go on a liberation journey of the free cities. I am avoiding the crazy Magician and the Reach bastard, because they are the most dangerous to us. Since one might turn us in to go back home and the other sounds like he kills people with poison.

Ok editing since new information that taking Dany on the Sea can be bad for her at such a young age.
