"Why should I who have endured the lean times by guile and cleverness become beholden once more to one whose only merit was winning a single gambit to bring that... trinket into your hands?" The night-black tongue darts out, clearly indicating Vee's belt.
Turns out he won big time with that gambit, while you got suckered into a trap by a off-brand vampire.

As far as cunning goes, I'm rather unimpressed by him.

"It matters not if the traveler upon the darkened path cannot see the end of it for still coils to the same end." A flash of ivory fangs as long as swords accompanies the words. "Though I suppose there is another way: offer me that belt as sacrifice and I shall come before him not as a supplicant but as an equal, and thus you shall be able to make use of both our powers in raising up the ancient pass and learning its secrets."
How about a nice cup of "go fuck yourself"?

No sooner had the thought crossed your mind that the the gem in the serpent's forehead flashes impossibly bright with power. "Ware..." you begin to call as a fan of deathly colors washes over the chamber.
Seems like we got a volunteer for Yss next dinner!

"I'll make a new belt out of your hide!" Vee shouts as she throws herself out of the path of another burst of flame, though not quite swiftly enough to
You are awesome Vee.

OOC: All those points you dropped into Viserys' safe motive paid off. This is not a nice snake and Yss would not be happy to see it... alive that is.
Not even with a spot of parsley and some good wine to go along with it?

Malarys contemptuously sheds a shower of cerulean light and calls out in an almost conversational tone, "I suspect the stone in its forehead is far more precious then its hide."

OOC: All those points you dropped into Viserys' sense motive paid off. This is not a nice snake and Yss would not be happy to see it... alive that is.

...
......
I love Malarys.

And I suspect Yss would love to see it alive... as a turtle.

i smell a really good sacrifice to yss- he might actually LIKE us if we give him this!
This isn't something we can drag all the way to Yss. BP and SC will probably be completely ineffective, and I'm not comfortable crippling ourselves with trying to capture it. We're safer just killing it.

If I'm wrong I'll be happy, he would make a fantastic sacrifice, but I will be very surprised.

Welp, that was an asshole snake. And a pretty dumb one. Mr-sees-the-future got ensalved by a discount sorcerer.

Yeah, useless as a minion. Not regretting this.

I'm pretty sure Yss will still be tickled pink with just the corpse. It sounds like they're competing half-starved deities.

Well, we have some options, and as soon as it is paralyzed, turned to stone, polymorphed, bound or in negative hit points I'd suggest getting it to Yss immediately.

This said, killing it is ok as well, but I would love us to present it to Yss.

I support this. Immunity to involuntary shape-shifting, be it to vermin, stone or smoke, is rather common for gods, even the very least.

I don't want to waste precious Bloodwishes on trying to bind it while it is spending those actions on trying to kill us.

Prismatic Spray is nothing to fuck with.

...I think I've gotten a bit too attached to sacrificing stuff.
I'll feel bad if we have to kill it instead of sacrificing it
:/
But damn, if this little medium-sized shit isn't the greatest of all thematically appropriate sacrifices to best snek.
+1 divine rank, anyone?

Yes.
This is why I really want to get it to Yss - it is so thematically fitting, Yss should be nearly guaranteed to get something very nifty out of it.

Can't we beat it down and have Vee stick the belt on it?

@Azel

@Goldfish

@Duesal

I summon the Loot squadron!

I'm not sure what the fuck this is, but I'm sure you guys can figure out the best way to chop him up both physically and spiritually to maximize our haul.

Got to say, Killing Tor, grabbing two new loot people, and killing a snake god thing for being a cunt has made this a very profitable little jaunt.

To everyone who wants to sacrifice him to Yss, Yss is still digesting the Clerics.

For anyone curious it's 1dX days where X is the number of HD it's sacrifice had if the creature's CR is less than 10. For CR 10-15 it's 1d2X and for CR 15-20 it's 1d4X.

So Lileath was 1d6: 3
And this is when both clerics were sacrificed.
Twentieth Day of the First Month 293 AC
It's only been 3 days, and Yss needs to burn off something along the line of 20 more HD that he ate. He is not going to have room for this. You will be sorely disappointed if you drag the snake back to him.

Edit: There is a reason Vee wanted to make a belt out of it instead of dragging it to Yss for sacrifice.

@Duesal , we have means to contain it. The Whip alone should be able to contain it. Plus curses and the like.

Also, we have a divination proof room.

[] Viserys: Assay Spell Resistance, Agonizing Searing Elemental Darts Fire
-[] Richard: Activate True Seeing and charge
-[] Malarys: Assay Spell Resistance, Sound Lance, Quickened Boneshatter (Spell Perfection)
-[] Vee: Flaywind Burst

Now - is it immune to "TURTLING POWER"?

@Artemis1992 - no smoky confinement (turtling, flesh to stone), just kill it?

If not Yss, I imagine the Old Gods will surely appreciate it.

Sacrificing a super old God is sure to be pretty strong, and it might synergies with their Domain of Time.

I just feel like it is a waste to not sacrifice it, and the fact that it tried to run away instead of lay a trap for us shows that it doesn't feel too confident on its ability to kill us.

I won't win any combat-vote while Goldfish is active, but I just want to say here, keep it concentrated.
We can't afford to throw Fireballs and such around, if the house breaks the snake goes free.

If you guys plan to drag this off to sacrifice keep in ind that it is huge sized.
Yep. Sacrificing—if we can pull it off—would be incredible, but I think you guys are being way too confident with this. It specializes in running away. One wrong move and it's gone. @Tomcost, why are you certain that the Bone-Whip will work on it? It's a god. I would not be surprised if it's immune to all compulsions.

Sacrifice the belt? Even the very notion :mad::mad:. You dun goofed Ol' snek, you dun goofed.

Lets Carry It bound a Broken to the temple of Yss.

It is by its own admission a super weak god that has had to survive in cleverness.

It is also weak enough to have been bound by Tor in the first place.

And if nothing else, doesn't the Belt allow us to Commune with Yss?
We might be able to just ask him what to do with it once we subdue it.
