Poor hapless mercenaries must be really out of their element.

Except they've been dealing with similar bullshit from Illyrio's mages and Tia-chan's priests for months now, so... not really?

It's understandable... sellswords only swing their swords when they're paid. Ask Bronn. :V

... didn't someone propose that any and all sellswords here are to be fed to the OG for working with grandma?

I'm going to ask this just one before I start writing up a plan.

I understand why ya'll changed the vote after I went to sleep. It seems to happen a lot.

But whyin all that is effin holy did you take out all of the buffs, @Artemis1992? It would not have delayed us AT ALL to put Mage Armor on Maelor, or for Vee's Tyche's Touch to be put on everyone, which would have been a +4 saving throw bonus for 24 hours. Waymar's Resist Energy(Cold) would have lasted for 2 hours.

It just doesn't make any sense.

There's a problem of logistics with that. I also somehow doubt we'll be able to find everyone since they'll be running around like chickens after we've decapitated or captured their leadership.

I honestly am more curious about interrogating the officers for anything and everything relevant to the conspiracy.

@Goldfish

And it was taken out because it was a single point of contention, as per usual, which made people determine what their priorities were.

I get the frustration, and it would be nice if the whole buff thing was something everyone was on top of, but I'm not going to tell you it won't happen again. I've been falling asleep not that long after delegating a vote, and sometimes the only thing that determines who I delegate it to is who cottons onto the thing I want most.

Sorry, I was just barely awake and then only focussed on the issue with the mercs, not the rest of the plan.

Yup. Single point issues makes voters snowblind to the point of abandoning otherwise reasonable plans. Little chance it won't happen again.

@DragonParadox Did Richard ever get around to activating his Holy Aura? I know I tried to include it in about three plans, but I can't remember what one and what didn't.

@Goldfish, I think the problem is that your buff plans tend to be long and incomprehensible for most.

The first is a necessity at our level and the second a result of few players here understanding D&D well enough.

Then comes the occasional bout of simply forgetting to copy your work when making new plans.

Theres a reason I tend to tack on "Buffs as Goldfish says" to my plans.

My mechanical aptitude begins and ends with the SRD. My play experience is scattered and pitiful in comparison. I generally feel like I've learned more about D&D from you, Azel and TotallyNotEvil than I have actually playing the game.

No need to be creative here, but I think we might want to avoid being loud. Just because she failed to get the Undead to obey doesn't mean they're not aware and listening. Let's not disturb them overmuch while most of our more powerful magic is depleted. That's my reasoning for Aradia not using Great Thunderclap. If ya'll think differently, I add it in.

I would prefer to toss out at least a Freezing Glance or Baleful Polymorph, but Viserys is so low on spells we might still need those if the Undead awaken.

Not going to assume we actually have a minute either, so buffing adequately now risks ceding the initiative even further.

[X] Plan "Another Sleeper bites the dust."
-[X] Viserys assumes LHD form, casts Mirror Image and uses his Earring to gain True Seeing as a Swift Action, Maelor casts Child of the Dark, Malarys casts Greater Stunning Barrier or True Seeing if he hasn't already used it, Richard uses his amulet to gain 12 Temp HP and uses his Earring to gain True Sight as a Swift Action, Waymar casts Diamonsteel on himself, Aradia casts Heroics on herself to regain Rapid Shot if the previous casting has worn off, and Vee summons a Leskylor.
-[X] Door Removal:
--[X] Aradia checks the door for traps.
--[X] Viserys and Malarys use Detect Magic to examine the door for wards or magic of any kind.
--[X] If the door is warded or otherwise enchanted, Vee and Viserys both hit it with a Targeted Dispel Magic and Maelor uses his Voracious Dispelling invocation against it.
--[X] Once stripped of magic, or if none was present, Viserys rips the door from its hinges.
-[X] Move to confront the Cleric before she can awaken the Undead. Give her no time for talking or threats.
--[X] Aradia uses a Full Attack Action, with Rapid Shot, against the Cleric.
--[X] Richard charges the Cleric using Shock Trooper to Power Attack as he sees fit.
--[X] Malarys casts a Targeted Greater Dispel Magic at the Cleric. If she attempts to cast a spell, he immediately uses Stifle Spell to interrupt her.
--[X] Maelor uses Nerveskitter on Viserys, then targets the Cleric with his Eldritch Blast, using one charge from his scepter (+1d6) and his Mortalbane ability (+2d6), as well as Maximizing it.
--[X] Vee orders her Leskylor to Pounce upon the Cleric, then targets her with Pronouncement of Fate (using two 3rd level spell slots). The evil bitch works for the Queen Bitch and is trying to awaken Undead monstrosities to kill us all. She uses Alter Fortune if the Cleric resists.
--[X] Viserys targets the Cleric with a Quickened Searing, Agonizing Elemental Fire Darts spell, then follows it up with Baleful Polymorph to turn her into a turtle.

It's quite delicious that mages flat-out need spell immunity if they want to avoid the burnination of Viserys anymore.

That's like serial escalation of pyromancy. There is no "not burning" just "less burning" and "had to reality warp so that burning never happened in the first place".

@Goldfish Door is probably trapped, make sure to check it.

The funny thing is that all of my D&D knowledge was acquired in this thread, mostly from TNE.

@Goldfish, unloading that many spells into the room seems more likely to rile up the dead then quickly turtling her. Besides, we are nearly dry. If the dead wake up, we need to leg it anyway and can use Vees summons as chaff to get a headstart.

Also, seconding to have Aradia check the door for traps while everyone else buffs.
