Holy shit, I had to speed home to comment when I saw how many of you were voting for Dany or Rhaella. First ya'll got rid of Invisibility and now you're trying to give away an amazing sword to Rhaella of all people? She's useless. DP said she literally has a BAB of 0, despite being level 6, since she's never had any sort of combat training AT ALL. And Dany's bonus is just lackluster in the extreme. Dragonbane? Thematic, but extremely situational and a lot of wasted magic, just like the 30 points of Fire Resistance Richard's armor gives him.

Viserys can actually use this thing. The Spell Combat feature is pretty damned good.

Any do you all keep assuming we can always fight in Draconic form? There have been plenty of times where even LHD form was impractical, not to mention HHD or full on Dragon.

Also, Arcane Spellsurge is on the horizon. That spell lets us cast everything as a Swift Action. We could cast a spell and still have a Full Attack Action, while affected by any number of Blood Wish cast buffs, from Bite of the Weretiger to Divine Power.

AND, if Dark Sister is like Oathkeeper in that it is potentially sentient and can communicate with its wielder Telepathically, we'll have a whole new aspect to the quest, in that Viserys can have a buddy to mentally converse with.

EDIT: And now DP has graciously given us the full info of the enchantments. We know it's even better for Viserys, all but useless for Dany (she can prepare and cast, or Dreamcast, the Antidragon Aura spell at need) and Rhaella herself is useless for combat, so nothing much changes there.

We don't ever want Daenerys to be getting so up close, Viserys will actually make more use out of it than anyone else, especially in tight places where turning into a dragon is impossible (like the last few updates).
 
I gotta say, I'm not really liking the running theme of people in thread bullying DP into doing what they want through gratuitous salt.

I have no real opinions on the sword, and I'm not going to touch any of the discussion with a 10 foot pole, but I thought I would get that off my chest.

Constant Antidragon Aura

All targets gain a +2 luck bonus to Armor Class and on saving throws against the attacks, spells, and special attacks (extraordinary, supernatural, and spell-like) of dragons. This bonus increases by +1 for every four caster levels above 7th (to +3 at 11th, +4 at 15th, and a maximum of +5 at 19th).

Constant +3 to all saves against dragons?
No offence everyone, but I consider this vote having even more sense in Danny's favor now.

And for all goodness of this sword, it still won't be good for Viserys due to not stacking with natural attacks.
 
Well, at least I can go to sleep now.

Better a battle lost, than going even more beyond my time to put the phone away.

Well, fuck, that antidragon aura was really underwhelming for Dany.

And I'm sure as hell I'm not going to give our mother a melee weapon from all things.

Yeah, it was all fun and damages calculating carrying capacity and suddenly the deluge of Super Dragon Bane sword on a character that has yet to melee once, and then Rhaella.

Ironically, while it's enormously better for Viserys, it not bad for Rhaella. Very neat sword in her hands.

Totally agree.

I wish we could even abolish the word "salt" in this thread. I know that's somewhat hypocritical, considering I am personally responsible for 3 of the sub-basements and an entire wing of the salt cave, but I think it's time for the word to go.

From now on, we can actually use our words to express our frustrations or concerns, rather than just throwing out a SALT! at the drop of a hat.

Anyone else agree?

It's a 4th level spell Dany can prepare at need or Dreamcast at will. Lya could learn it, too. Viserys could Blood Wish it. And there are better spells of an equal level to accomplish roughly the same effect, without being Dragon specific.

Fuck it, I'll put a vote out.
Still don't think Viserys needs a sword, as I think of him either as the staff wielding Sorcerer or the Huge dragon man.
Same with Dany, since while she gets close relatively often I never really imagine her with a sword.

We could totally get mom to join up and become some sort of battle sorcerer or something though, which I think sounds pretty cool.
Plus, the sword could start encouraging her to become a PC class finally, which would be really cool personally.

And before anyone asks, yes I know it's probably more optimal to put it on Viserys, and Rhaella is currently an NPC class and thus a useless waste of space or whatever, but I just personally like the idea.
