We wanted to send Maelor, Glyra and Aradia to Tyrosh for some invasion preparations.

We could switch out Maelor for Azema. It seems Aradia is level-headed enough to be the voice of reason in that group and those three together should leave quite a trainwreck for the magisters.

I think Maelor should still go because I don't think being outvoted 2-1 when it comes to common sense would be conductive to the mission. This way it's more or less balanced.

I was expecting more of a reaction to every one of the Children of the Forest being able to become PC Classeso_O. It's oddly mellow and calm for what I was expecting from the thread to go wild over. If not the Rangers then the Druids at least.

The lack of positive energy is my guess for her lack of connection to humanity. Very interesting. I'm glad we have Mercy to serve as a bridge for her, then. Sending Mercy and Azema hunting might be a good idea, though probably not to greenstone.
Why not to Greenstone? Hellspawn is always good prey, though we should ask them to bring any they can back alive, we have a godswood to grow.

I'm not sure they want a "gather information" mission. I think a hunt is what they are aiming for. If Azema could have a greater disguise ribbon to hide her demon nature, that might work for greenstone...

When I said "Invasion Preparation" I meant "Scouting and Sabotage". Especially causing trouble between Tyrosh itself and the Second Sons.

They can wreck as much stuff as they want as long as they are subtle about it.

Why exactly?
You think surviving devil-worshippers will be elieved that a demon attacked them?

The Seven and relations with Stannis. Sending proof of our relationship with a demon to our first demonstration of our intervention when the seven really don't want it and would love to foul it up seems to be inviting problems.

Also, more thoughts on the vote?

So I feel perfectly justified in my paranoia and want to give Leila an official position that binds her to the Royal Court.

I actually brought this up way back at Sallahdor, we enoble her and give her an order and the title Wisdom=Knight.

So, what do you guys think about a cermony where we ennoble Leila, and give her, her own order. Perhaps when she reaches level 5 and can take apprentices?

"Rise now as lady Leila [Insert house], Wisdom of the Scholarii Archivistae, first-keeper of the divine records, and mistress of the Unschackled Order."

  • Legitimized cadetbranch
  • Founding 'wisdom' of royal archivists.
  • Entrusted to record all known divine magics.
  • Her own knightly order dedicated to breaking slavecollars.

You keep pushing it back and further back to let Azema show herself for a bit.

By now she'd be fully justified to do something stupid about it.

Huh.

So I guess the level 8 feature to combine opposing elements is useless?
I would have though there's some kind of balance in the result. After all every human and other mortal has a good bit of every alignment in him or her.

Fire and Water sure, Earth and Air again fine. Positive and negative energy would be odd but functional.

Good and Evil however would be a bad idea to mix. These are not humans they are outsiders.

It's not really, more a characterization issue. I can't think of any way beyond some flavor of insanity to write someone who embodies conceptual good and evil at the same time.
Which is why the class explicitly rules them to balance out to Neutral. They might have stronger opinions on morals then most mortals, but they don't need to be insane.

Balance would be nice.

Make her true neutral? Like a normal human?

That's not both that's neither. They are not the same.

What would those 'strong opinions' be though?

Honest question, I'm struggling to conceive this.

I don't see it that way. A True Neutral being is capable of both great Good and great Evil. They're less bound by their alignment and more by their personal goals. I feel like that was a big part of the intent of combining opposing alignments in an Arcanum. We can avoid making someone too far Good or too far Evil. I don't get why making them insane is the only option here.
