That'd be very convenient. And then Lya can teach it normally to Dany so she doesn't have to use a template at all. :p

I also want Malarys to start teach Lya and Dany all his powerful Lawful cleric spells.

I think we would only want to use Dany's Hallow SLA, if at all possible. It will be at a higher caster level, and most importantly, it will be free. Hallow is expensive, and that only increases if you add another spell effect to it.

[X] Goldfish

So, with all these talks about nerfing and tier 1 classes, I just remembered a thought I had when reading suggestions for bringing Viserys closer in power to his prepared casters companions. While Blood Wish™ is good and all, why has nobody suggested to use a classic solution from Pathfinder, as we already use so much from there? Make reskinned and maybe rebalanced version of Paragon Surge (preferably pre-errata), just refluff it for human and dragon ancestry instead of human and elf. If you think it's too OP, then just upping its level to 4+ can compound on already existing issues of action economy and spell slot losses.

Any thoughts?

So, some feedback would be nice.

Ohhh. Areys comes back as some sort of undead wanker then! :D

Quick contextual lore check: Does it count as kinslaying if said person is undead? :p

According to Viserys killing Aerys no matter his condition counts as one thing: catharsis.

Also no it's not that.

  • [X] Wait for the foe to show itself
-[X] Dany casts Chained Resist Energy (Cold) and Chained Death Ward on herself, Viserys, Richard, Rhaella, and as many Children as possible. She then casts True Seeing and uses her Holy Aura SLA, casts Life's Grace and Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, casts Moment of Greatness, then Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, and Sign, in that order. She places herself in front to the redoubt's entrance so her Holy Aura presents an additional barrier to anything targeting those inside.
-[X] Viserys assumes HHD form, uses his Earring to gain True Seeing as a Swift Action, casts Searing Agonizing Mass Fire Shield on everyone, Mirror Image using two 1st level spell slots, Shield, Starmantle, Haste using two 2nd level spell slots, then Freezing Glance, in that order.
-[X] Richard uses his amulet to gain 12 Temp HP as a Swift Action and activates his Earring to gain True Seeing. As soon as the enemy presents itself, he activates his armor's Holy Aura as a Swift Action. He places himself between Dany and whatever the threat may be.
-[X]Starmantel on Rhaella for light and protection against anything that bypasses the sphere (teleportation effects level 4 and lower still works btw).
-[X] Dany casts chained life's grace on Rhaella and party and as many CotF as possible
-[X]Searing Agonising Mass fireshield on Rhaella, Party and the remainder on any Children that are best suited for melee in the group
-[X]Resilent Sephere on the group in the cave
-[X] Turn HHD, Dany casts Truesight and Viserys casts Mirror Image.
-[X] Viserys stands near the cave entrance, ready to cast (or activate his earing on Dany's or Richards's word)
-[X] Richard near Viserys, ready to react via sword, or earring depending in case any get past while Viserys casts
-[X] Dany a little bit above for a vantage point, but ready to drop down to Richard if (hevily) targeted by melee attackers.
-[X] Prepare for Fury, Fire and Fear. Possibly turtles, also.
[X] Fly out and face the foe
-[X] Leave the Children, Rhaella and Richard in the cave, Richard guarding the entrance
-[X] Turn HHD, Dany casts Resist Elements (Cold) on herself and Viserys (dreamcast second), casts Truesight and Chains Life's Grace, Viserys casts Starmantle, Mirror Image and Mass Fireshield
-[X] Dany activates Holy Aura only after the enemy is close and in sight

It never hurts to have it in reserve. The more Good and Lawful cleric spells Dany gets around to learning the better.

@Azel @DragonParadox

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the temp hp of Richard's amulet not take a free action to activate as opposed to a swift action?

Also, as TNE said, resillent sphere please :)

@DragonParadox would Lya & Viserys be able to research soul splitting like with the Orphne Cloak, perhaps item creation ritual able to be learned by any scholar / caster?

'Split soul, add intent (magic school themed after character), and shape (item slot).'

As a ritual doesnt seem OP considering it is directly using XP and IM for the ritual. Such a thing could be taught to NPCs who doesnt have enough for creation feats.

@DragonParadox - interludes allow us to experience how others see/feel/react to the actions of our alter ego (ie, Viserys). As such they strengthen the main character point-of-view by giving context.

Heck even if it had dead flesh albeit unlikely unless it was completely frozen then we can likely use that as some kind of regent I assume.

Part MDCXLVIII: Inexorable Ice
Inexorable Ice

Twentieth Day of the Twelfth Month 292 AC

Though your instincts rage against staying pinned to the ground like a mouse before a hawk you realize Ser Richard speaks sense. How could you hope to even see in the swirling snow-cloud, thicker than any mist? At best you might guide yourself by touch and hearing, by the taste of the air. But your blood turns to ice thinking how easily it would be for a silent foe to slip past you in the cover of the clouds. And so you take on winged shape but do not fly and instead wait as Dany whispers her blessings upon as many of those present as she can: against the cold and against death, the weapons of the Others while you drape yourself in fire.

"How clever, little maggot, who does not dare the sky" the voice is one with the cutting wind and it speaks the dragon tongue of old. Within it you hear the pride and arrogance all wyrms share, but also loathing that goes beyond mere hate, beyond what the mortal heart can contain, least it burst with venom. "I have time... all the time in the world, the void is patient for it knows it is at the end of all things. Savor these last breaths of fetid warm air then, trembling upon the ground as you try to guard she whom you freed from death's embrace, only to lead her into a chasm darker by far."

"You speak much for one who hides behind the veil of masters as a cur that has not even a hunting hound's courage!" you shut back in the same tongue, pushing back the cold dread at its words, the confirmation that it had come for your mother. "That you would call cowardice wisdom shows that the long ages have stolen what few wits you may once have had!" From dreams of times long past you know that the white wyrms of the north were the least of Tiamat's brood in wits and power and ever have they been easily baited by that fact.

Yet your foe does not answer your taunt and for a long moment there is silence save for the cutting wind.

"What did the damn frozen lizard say?" Ser Richard calls to Dany, showing that he had heard the tongue of wyrms enough times to recognize it at least.

"It said it's not coming down here while we're ready." Then almost as an afterthought. "It made threats too, they all make threats." Though another might not know it you hear the tightly leashed rage in her voice.

The moments continue to slip by then at last the frozen voice from the sky speaks again. "Your destruction will tip the scales as much as hers, half-breed. Come forth and I will spare her."

"Tis sad to see thine wits having gone wandering so far as to propose something with that would favor only you on the strength of mercy. Thinkest thou I have not looked upon the face of your masters?" Something is not right here. White wyrms were the most savage, least clever of all the children of Tiamat the Many-hued. This one should be enraged by your insults, not trading barbs at its leisure

What do you do?

OOC: Whoever guessed dragon first, congratulations, though it may not be quite what you expected.
