Not really the same vote, though with the same intent.

Instead of just trusting Teana's wards, which we have no mechanical understanding of at all, adding Mage's Private Sanctum adds that much more protection. The spell's function is specific and quite powerful, with a duration long enough that Lya need only cast it once per 24 hours.

With Minotaur guards, they are actually able to interfere with an escape attempt, whereas the Construct Ravens can only report on it once it has begun.
I'm convinced.

[X] Yes
-[X] Keep him in an area warded by Teana and protected by a Mage's Private Sanctum spell cast by Lya, with a pair of Minotaur guards watching him constantly.
-[X] Otherwise treatment as fitting for a noble prisoner, chance to wash, decent food, offer books, etc.
-[X] Daavos may only visit him under strict supervision and they are never to be left alone together.

[X] Maelor Level Up
-[X] Levels: +1 Eldritch Theurge
-[X] Attribute: +1 Charisma
-[X] Skills (4 skill points): +1 Use Magic Device, +3 Concentration
-[X] Invocations: Retrain Frightful Blast into Baleful Utterance
-[X] Spells:
--[X] Cantrip: Detect Poison
--[X] 1st: Retrain Serene Visage into Grease
--[X] 2nd: Blindness/Deafness

Here's my current level up plan for Maelor. I've got Serene Visage retrained to Mage Armor because the spell just isn't that useful right now, while Mage Armor is an excellent buff that Maelor can use on himself and others. Any other ideas for a different 1st level spell?

What about a 2nd level spell? I like Blindness/Deafness, but I don't have my heart set on it. I know TNE likes Fireburst, to use the Eldritch Theurge's Spellblast Invocation to make a ghetto Fireball.

Armor good. Shield good.

We still didnt get Ser Richard that shield ring. Or shield potion drinking hat.

We really need to get on that. Hes just so squishy!

Gotta work with his shit CL. Not the worst damage if you tally in an Eldritch Chain, which we can pick up next level.

Personally, I prefer serene visage to mage armour. But eh.

Caster level is a problem for Maelor right now and will be until he gets his next feat, when we can pick up Practiced Spellcaster. That'll help a lot.

Until then, Fireburst and Serene Visage are both pretty bad. He can always relearn Serene Visage and pick up Fireburst next level when Practiced Spellcaster will make them far more effective.

On the other hand, caster level doesn't affect Mage Armor at all, except in its duration, which will already be 4 hours when Maelor learns it. Blindness/Deafness hardly depends on caster level at all, and that's mostly in its range. It's just a great Save or Suck spell that relies on Maelor's Charisma attribute.

@Artemis1992 @Goldfish make him swear he won't try to escape.

I'm not sure if even Stannis would honor an oath made under duress, and we have no other way to compel him to swear one.

I forgot to mention, with sending the Dracolich to the Plane of Shadows, there are semi random naturally occurring portals between it and the material plane.

Theoretically if we get everyone Relath/Archons/.. and buff the gills out of them could we win a full on battle (I'm not really clear how which templates apply)?

Depending on the Dracolich's HD, destroying it might not be that great a hurdle to overcome. We could possibly take care of it with a 4 member party.

@Goldfish I agree Stannis might not swear to be on his best behavior if we let him out, but there's no way he doesn't keep his word once he gives it. I mean look at how he both punished and rewarded Davos in canon, I sincerely think "it's okay to lie and not follow my word in x circumstance" is something he would never thibk. Dude would probably ascend into an inevitable ala how Viserys os becoming a dragon if possible

Duty overrides honor. Stannis will break his word if duty demands it. He wont like it, but he'll do it. Ned is the honor, "never break my word" type. Stannis is the "everyone should do their duty, no matter the cost" type. Now, he tends towards straightforwardness, but we shouldn't rely on that alone.

By the way, at some point we should ask Yss:

1) How many Marid were contracted by the Lannisters
2) How many Marid are still in Prime Material
2) The terms of the contract between the Lannisters and the Marid
3) Where Gerion Lannister and his witch bride are

While I sincerely doubt DP will let us go hunting like we all so badly want to, I'm more concerned with the Marid helping the Lannisters run the show in Westeros itself. DP took pains to cast doubt over the number of Marid in the Lannisters, so it's probably a good idea to double-check how many Limited-Wishes they've still got.

Whether you're voting for my plan or Artemis', it would be nice if we could go ahead and get Maelor's levelup taken care of. The kid has been a level 8 stuck in a level 7's body for months now. If you don't like my proposed levelup plan, please suggest something else. If you like the levelup, but not how I handled dealing with Stannis, add the levelup to Artemis' Stannis plan.

It's a very very common oath and people have been executed, lost inheritance, been sent back to captors with gold by their family trying to restore the good name etc. for having broken it.

This was one of the backbones of the culture, being a good hostage was a Chivalrous act.

Man, they grow up so fast. In hindsight Dany seems like a straight up unnatural child of absurd talent, could probably qualify for that prophecy about the Prince That Was Promised (given that it's a gender neutral prophecy) though there's a chance Jon will also become pretty powerful later on with his special snowflake class.

And then you have Maelor, who by any measure is also hilariously talented, but more of a "diamond in the rough" type of talent, like Lya.
