Wait a minute... Shouldn't Vee be able to speak to dragons, then? Serious question: scalykind should include all reptilians, right?

If its generic reptiles ya want... then ya gotta include birds. Theyre closer than lizards to crocs. :p

"Reptiles are tetrapod (four-limbed vertebrate) animals in the class Reptilia, comprising today's turtles, crocodilians, snakes, amphisbaenians, lizards, tuatara, and their extinct relatives."

Dragon templated snakes by the way.

They'd have to be in communion with Bloodraven for weeks at a time, and we'd have to pick the most loyal candidates, but yes.
Neat, sure we can find a couple people willing to learn the deeper ways of nature among the population. After all we working for the chance of minotaur druids.

With the decisions on how to set up our government being quite a bit in the past and the new additions fleshing them out some more, I was thinking about drawing a org chart and compiling everything into a single write-up.

Is there a general interest for something like that?

Edit: Including a hypothetical chart where we own Volantis, Braavos and maybe the Three Daughters so that I can examine and propose ways to scale the system to different locals later.
Or maybe Westeros, through that one is rather cut and dry conpared to the intricacies of the Free Cities.

You actually beat me to it. I was going to hunt down every big lawmaking post later this week and put it in a single doc. (mainly for my own benefit)

I won't complain if you do it, though. :p

These are your lawmaking posts, btw.

Here's Artemis' proposal for how to regulate magic:

Here's your proposal on how to structure the guild:

And here's Redium's proposal on how to structure the guild which you based your vote off of:

That should be it for lawmaking.

I have some ideas and proposals I would like to add to that, like how a knightly order might look or how a hypothetical integration of the Mysterium and different faiths might work.

Clear cut between what was voted into law and what I would like to add through so that we can use part as the as-is overview and maybe squabble over the rest end of turn to plug any holes left in there.
I think a general overview of what and why couldn't hurt for those big law votes and we might more easily see issues that don't become apparent in single-issue debates.

Go for it. Also, heads up that I just gathered all the links for you.

Also, @TotallyNotEvil, heads up that we're supposed to be voting on Vee's levelup but we ended up getting distracted.

Can we get Panacea for her or is there something better?

I believe Goldfish has a few ideas on spells to retrain. He wanted to get Panacea, then retrain Remove Disease into something more useful.

Seen it. Thanks a whole lot.

Not sure when I will find the time to do everything, but I should have a few hours tomorrow.

A few things I want to propose:
- formal structure of a small council (mostly Westeros style, maybe one or two additions)
- a large council that gathers less frequently, but has members from the more influential factions in the state (highly important guilds, major faiths, etc.)
- a system for enobling mages
- army / levie structure
- organisation of knights
- etc.

The whole shebang.

Slight suggestion: We might want to give an option for ennobling mages that doesn't require "stunning feats of bravery in service of the realm" because that either bottlenecks our mageknights or encourages them to look for danger so they can be knighted.

Maybe we should set up a series of rigorous trials in mind, body, soul, and magic as a default and have the "stunning feats of bravery" as more of an option for wars when there's less time for trials?

Let them pass Dany.
Endure a PW: Pain. And then fight her in melee. and then save vs. intimate.
xD

I'm still all for "service to the realm", but that can take entirely different shapes.

And it's important to remember: A knight doesn't need to be landed and neither would a noble Wizard need to. A cosy office and a title is its own reward.
So we can dish out titles for less epic deeds just fine. It just needs to be hard enough to not devalue the title.

Actually.... that has a lot of merit. For the upper-tiers of knighthood, whatever we decide that to be, if you manage not to piss your pants against Dany then you deserve your status.

The way I see it is that it's like the Kingsguard. Sure, you could pull off an epic feat and get selected... Or the king can just throw a tourney (read: trials) and select the winner.

I don't see any super urgent level 3 optics that would require such.

And I really want Prononcement of Fate.

I do like Healing Lorecall, tho.

But Vee's build is so awesome she could pick anything, really.

Lots of spells would be much better than Remove Disease, even if we don't pick up Panacea.

Blindness/Deafness would be a good offensive option, as would Dispel Magic.

There are not very many living creatures that can shrug off being blinded. Look how poorly that went for the Mallor.

And even though Tyene learned Dispel Magic just a couple days ago, it wouldn't be strange or out of character for another of our caster's to pick it up. Up until now, we've only had Viserys for dispels, and there's been several times when we've had to choose between casting a combat spell and dispelling an effect. With the party being split up into smaller groups now, we should always have someone capable of casting Dispel Magic in each group, as we're more and more likely to encounter enemy spellcasters.

It's better to let Lya and Dany prepare specialty or situational spells and leave utility spells we might need to cast repeatedly in a short period of time to our spontaneous casters.

We don't have to reach too far afield to find good options.

We got Remove Disease for IC reasons.

Admitedly, it came in handy back in Lys, still, wasn't our first choice.

Hm, Healing Lorecall, Dispel Magic, Pronouncement of Fate, Augment Summoning, Concentration, Heal, Nature, Spellcraft +1, Handle Animal +5?

I'm not a fan of getting rid of Remove Disease if we don't get Panacea to replace it.
