Do we need the Seeker at this time? We do need the gold and it's not like we can't graft stuff to it later.

Well that is disappointing that the necromancer wasn't able to get any useful information.

So he says.

He may have already garnered more than enough information to reproduce the Seeker, but the process may be much faster or reliable with a living template to work from. He might have all he needs, but could desire more time to reverse engineer how the wings were grafted onto it.

He has pretty consistently shown bad social skills. That level of Bluff would be... unexpected.

We're about to do an expensive auction that should net us more than the 2500 of gravegoods is really worth. That, and rare magical reagents, and three Valyrian Steel artifacts. We can expect to walk away quite a bit richer.

That, and we're about to embark on missions that will be a HUGE money-maker for us. Specifically that Sellsword War.

I could totally see a duplicitous Necromancer figuring out a "Face of the Lifeless" spell, which causes the user to give no non-verbal cues and deaden's their voice. Not much to detect with Sense Motive if you're basically talking to a seemingly emotionless zombie.

Exept he is very expressive and has repeatedly shown enthusiasm about creepy stuff, even in this converation.

By the way, do you guys support doing the Sellsword War before we go north to the Narrow Sea Houses?

I was hoping to push Ser Richard to level 10 to get Mindblank. It would make him the perfect weapon against the Mindflayers.

[X] Take the Seeker back

@DragonParadox , are Shadow creatures inherently evil? I recall the Manual of the Planes saying generally not good, while Lords of Madness says usually Neutral Evil

I'm just saying it seems like it would be a lot more valuable to him than the seeker and so long as we (or Lya) supervise he probably can't release it or something. Plus he can probably tell us a lot more. That's gotta be worth a few thousand IM to him.

Hell if we sell it right, we can maybe even get him to relocate to TD and have him stay on our staff for the mage school in return for supervised access to the Dracolich.

Okay... This is way nicer. Mainly because we can kill him as soon as he proves too evil for our tastes.

How about we recruit him, bring him to TD, exploit the everliving shit out of him, and then kill him? If he has at least 1800 gold we can probably steal way more.

Of course, we include some stipulations in the contract. No using our citizens for experiments, no killing our citizens.... etc. But overall its a win-win, we get a new mage and he gets to research all the fascinating shit we kill. We can even sweeten the deal with a few of the blessed bones we have (he can probably find some use for them) a signing bonus if you will.

Now to sell this to Waymar.... :D

No Necromancers in Sorcerer's Deep, please? It sets a bad precedent and the place is already a hive of scum and villainy barely civilized through our influence.

I'd rather not let him into the Tower, either, which would be required to study the Dracolich. And there's always the off chance he'll be able to free it and gain its cooperation, if not its subservience for setting it loose.
