[X] Challenge the leader with fang and claw.

"I'm in charge now!"
"Why should you be in charge?"
*grabs the objecting guy and lights him up with firebreath*
"Scary dragon man in charge now. Got it."

Then add fire to the vote, you are just talking about fang and claw now.

"I know he my cousin, but cooked Carl smell good."
"Carl always asshole."
"Wonder if he tasty, too?"

And Viserys became the Lord of the Cowpeople by feeding them their leader, forever confirming the rumor that Minotaurs were bloodthirsty cannibals.

"No eating sentients!"
"But Carl smelling good ..."
"Carl attacked me. He wasn't sentient."

I'm leery of splitting the vote. Here is what I would like to do:

-[] Take out the Mallors longspear and pose atop a roof in view of the minotaurs.
-[] "Rejoice. Your new master has arrived."
-[] After the inevitable challenge by their leader, start flying above him, taunting him and stab with the spear while staying out of reach.
-[] Once the opportunity pops up, disarm him, grab him and fly up with him.
// LHD has enough strength to do this.
-[] Set him on fire with your breath weapon and let the burning guy drop.
-[] Calmly land and start barking orders at them.

Edit: By the way. The demon blade we had was known to eat something from it's kills and level up. The longspear and the flaming sword lack this rather unique feature, so they are most likely just bog standard weapons.

That seems a bit cow-ardly.

I agree with the Sword, but we haven't identified the SPear yet, just assumed it's the standard-Anarchic.

I agree that, given what we know about Minotaurs, 'challenge with fang and claw and breath weapon' is the most advantageous choice. But Viserys just defeated a major demon, interrupted a demonic ritual, tasted divinity - a minotaur captain just isn't - worthwile.

@Fehu - would you consider adding 'and breath weapon' to your vote?

I'm just speaking the language of my audience.

That pun was terrible.

Also: I wasn't aware that we did this "fighting fair" thingy anymore.
We do when trying to convince some people to join us by defeating their leader, some cultures take well to treachery and cunning, some dont, im guessing minotaurs are stupid enough for the later.

Also yes, the pun was udderly terrible.

Using the spear, even as a prop, is just needlessly dramatic and exposes Viserys to the minor risk of an unknown enchantment on the weapon have deleterious side-effects. Sure, it might be a +1 Anarchic spear, but it could also be cursed in some way that is hard to easily define or identity. LHD form is scary enough, never mind the fire breath and magic.

I don't support opening with violence, though it should remain an option if the Minotaurs prove intractable. We just don't need the spear.

[X] Cow them with magic

I feel a bit bad bullying these peoples, but strength, though probably more respected, can be overcome, especially by minotaurs. Magic is the realm of power. Basically, do we dominate them where they are strong (and we are weak, compared to our other other abilities), or terrify them in the field they are weak (magic)?

We have a fair amount of level 3 spells, and we can always change to physical combat.

Cold as it is to say, if these minotaurs force us to kill them all, well, opportunity lost, but the headache of trying to set up a socialisation system of some kind goes with it.
Note: I have no idea as to minotaur numbers. 20, 100, 300, 1000?

Edit: if we ever meet someone clever we can "[] Explain our recent achievements in simple terms." to intimidate, I wonder if we would, for one brief, glorious moment, out-intimidate our 7 year old sister.

I'm fairly ambivalent about how we go about this. Just, don't want to go in with a killing mindset, don't want to use the spear at all tbh. Hope we end up talking with some Minotaur Teresa type :)

I think that will never happen. Even if we manage it, Dany will just turn around and start intimidating Mindflayers left and right to not be outdone.
Dany is the scariest thing in a room. No exceptions.
