@Azel @DragonParadox remember the undead Jazirian thing? What's that up to? Has it been ganked yet, or is it going strong?

He had a good run eating Efreeti until he was finally captured and brought to the Sultan who tried to use it as part of his apotheosis. It failed... prompting the killing of one final Efreeti, the one who lead the capture operations. The god-skin died well as close to content as something like that could ever be.

@Goldfish I think the air force can scout the area reasonably fine, they have state of the art machines of war. The thing I'm worried about more is false flag operations. Every pilot should be mind-blanked and preferably willing to die over engaging if escape isn't an option (with appropriate enticements).

Hmmm. What should be our strategy long term here?

Coordinate with Djinn more lightining strikes, to keep efreeti forces divided while the Shaitan slowly push to victory?

Be the wildcard, in the sense that we focus solely on a single battlefield to turn it in our favor, then let our allies capitalize on it?

Well...
The Salamander Realms - Ongoing Fighting
While clients of the Brazen Throne for a long time, the fiercly independent Salamanders are also a constant source of rebellions and infighting. The most recent uprising, spurred on by meddling of the Brazen Thrones enemies, seemed to threaten to unite all clans against the Efreeti, but infighting and a recent offense by the Brazen Throne has largely dashed that hope. Salamanders loyal to the Sultan of Brass traditionally gathered under the banner of the informal Brass Scale Clan, but due to some efforts, this clan has now formed in truth and immediately seen a large influx of members. Spurred on by the announcement that the Sultan would bestow the title "Bey of all Salamanders" on whoever managed to unite the clans under his banner, they have begun an assault on the clanholds of the Cobalt Scales and the Obsidian Spears, who are informally leading the remnants of the rebel faction. Meanwhile, the Hunters of the Last Light have been spotted to leave the Salamander Realms altogether with their fleet and rumor is that with the other clans unable to provide supplies for them, they will return to taking mercenary contracts in Paradise and Elysium.
I want one of our long-term goals for the Queen of the Cobold Scales clan to be the Duchess of all Salamanders under the banner of the Imperium. Ideally we give her relief whenever we can muster the troops.

One thing you guys might want to consider about the Mine vote that I have not seen much debate about is that the Dornish are rather touchy about their customs... and about their land, the land you would be leasing away.

how much support could we reasonably send the cobalt scale since they work well as a native resistance and those are always harder to root out?

If there is anyone who should be able to accept the imposition, it's Doran Martell. Dorne has been riding high for years now and is obviously favored by the Imperium.

I don't see this being a difficult situation to smooth over, if people get shirty.

I mean, if you went with the lease option, then the story would be about "the Imperator parceling out our homeland to just sell it to foreigners", which is not a nice narrative to defend. On the other hand, if you build the base yourself, it's just "the Imperator is digging a giant hole in the desert because he needs murder rocks", which is well within your customary rights and nobody bar profit seeking nobles sees terribly much value in a stone that makes your skin rot off if you touch it.

I now foresee an eventual market developing for Dornish Murder Rocks.

They're like Pet Rocks, but radioactive.

Less magical super-Thorium and more magical super-Asbestos. An Auran Mask protects from Viridium dust just fine, assuming you get a healer to fix your skin before the Leprosy sets in, and you can safely handle it with sturdy leather gloves.

RIP murder snek. :( I wish we could have fed you.

So, what is our strategy now that we know all these fronts. Where do we push? Where do we fortify? Do we go for the low hanging fruit? Do we focus on kicking the efreeti out of the other planes and focus totally on the PoF afterwards?

Fortify, build up our infrastructure and get as many wards as we can get, then push.

Goldfish was right, our air force is just barely enough to defend our own lands right now much less go on the offensive anywhere.
