I wonder what its like to live in the most uninteresting part of the Stepstones. A place the bridges reach but its not the capital or even the two continents yet you are close to all three!

It'd be like living in New York state by never visiting the city. :p

[X] Teana Interlude, perhaps as she helps to organize the formation of Westerosi Scholarium branches

That's Saltcliff. They mine salt, and have fresh water. They used to have the best brothel between the continents, but they've since left for better opportunities.

Well, the Imperium is a big proponent of upward mobility, even if that means laying back and letting the success come to you.

Will our Dothraki Legionair woman participate again?

Also, what are the rules on magic equipment for the joust?

She was @Azel's character and has otherwise faded into the great unknown so I'll take a rain-check on answering that until he gives his thoughts on the matter
Same as for everything else, three categories, with all magic, just with blessings and self-cast spells and finally free for all.

I'd say that's less necessary for the joust, since active spells are not necessary (please don't let people cast True Strike).
And even beyond that, as long as the equipment stays at +2 armors and lances it's no big deal, no more than the difference between a lord in Fullplate and a Hedge Knight in chainmail in the old world. Though a saddle of riding +10 would be a heavy difference...

Better forbid all active magic and then either seperate into magic equipment/no magic equipment or don't seperate at all.

There are spells that grant rerolls too. Those would be very useful in the joust

Unless you have tons of spell slots, you won't be able to cast True Strike for every tilt. Also, it's a Divination effect, so it can be blocked.

Just let the people do their thing. We don't have to build a balanced jousting meta.

Mechanically, D&D doesn't do a good job of modeling it, but a horse with Horseshoes of Speed would be a significant advantage during a joust.

..... I have just discovered the Locate City Nuke combo and I am wondering why the heck we haven't abused it yet....

That combo alone could EASILY wipe put entire areas and act as our magical nuke stand in
It was a long time ago on both the wizard of the coast forums and the giant in the playground forums, but basically while the locate city bomb sounds impressive in theory it's actually illegal to perform because one of the feats can't be used the way it is, meaning the whole setting falls apart.

The best mass scale destruction spell that's legal and don't require a custom ritual or something is to use the spell Apocalypse from Sky which comes from the book of vile darkness (and consumes an actual Artifact as a spell component) combined with the Exploding metamagic, but it is still a 9th level spell at minimum so it's perfect for villains to threat the world with, and impractical enough that players are not going to use it anyway.

Oh so we're letting horses have magical items now? What's next, dogs? Cats? Rodents? Insects? Magical items themselves?!

Side note, having someone kitted out in gear that's made entirely of Mimics... something to look into.

Of course, did you forget that Balerion is also decked in full set magical bling? We had to nerf his equipment because he was quickly becoming a weapon to surpass metal gear.

Ah.... Still bit disappointed.

A magical death nuke to use against the mind flyers would have been awesome
