[X] Goldfish

am sort of worried about the possibility of dragon slaying gear being present , cause from what I've managed to understand the Lanisters assumed our whole build was goanna be like Dragons Dragon Dragons so the but all there R&D dice in anti dragon stuff only to find out we build massive flying ships many times stronger than dragons and invested in a professional army
It's possible, but unlikely. This isn't exactly a high value target, not one that would attract Viserys, at least, and most of those sorts of items are going to be positioned to deal with exterior threats, such as a Dragon attacking the keep from outside rather than two people, or one person and a person-shaped Dragon, moving about the halls.
Should we cast Sleep mote? I am curious to see if that would work here.
Maybe, depends on the internal layout of the structure and what kind of combat we find ourselves in.

Maybe something from the long list of remaining interludes instead?

I don't really want to break up the story thread just before combat. I used to have a bat habit of doing that years ago and I think it really imapcted the reading experience of the thread so have things jammed in like that. I think it is best to just run this thread until the end then move on to the westerlands before wrapping up with King's Landing.

Kings Landing must come before the Westerlands, since we are going to fly the Dauntless there for the Casterly Rock assault.

The only other troops we have in the vicinity of the Westerlands are Legions and those will need hours before they reach the first keep. They are mostly there to mop up.

Ah, OK that actually makes things better. I was concerned the interlude chain would be even longer than it is. In any case I feel tired enough right now that it would probably be best not to keep writing and leave this for the morning when I can focus.

Well, we got the rest of the Riverlands, the remaining Marcher Lords and the Reach, namely House Roxton and Greyshield island. Then we should be done.

So I have been looking at this map - which is excellent I must say - and I noticed that City/Region of Kosrak is a different colour to Hesh and Lhazoth, I don't know if the canon/plot has diverged, but the wiki mention that Kosrak is one of the three cities of Lhazareen.

I just wondering seeing that they will likely soon be our vassals

Hesh and Lazosh are also of different colors, though I picked two that are so close to each other that it's hard to notice. Since the Lhazareen were never depicted as having a unified state, either here or in canon, I assumed that all three cities are independent and de facto divide control over the region among each other.

Oh okay, that you for informing me.

Yep. I've mentioned that right after the Warlocks made us that nice offer and I'm definitely not looking forward to have a border with the clown show.

At the very least we've got a much better avenue for slowly absorbing places like Vahar and Great Moraq the Cinnamon Straits. It's one thing if the Imperium's closest presence is a port city in Sothoryos and the Basilisk Isles. It's a whole different story when its banners fly above Qarth itself and control the Jade Gates, presumably advertising a far more reasonable toll.

Do we need prohibitive tolls when we want to encourage more widespread exchange of goods?

I say cut it down to regular port duties.

Thumbs up. Freedom of movement is the best policy within the Imperium.

Hell, I'm not sure we ever bothered with a toll on the Stepstones either.
We do have a toll in the Stepstones, although it's not anything like prohibitive to trade like the one in Qarth is, to the point where only huge trade consortiums have a chance of taking advantage of the relatively safe passage the Jade Gates provides east-west.

IIRC we advertised our toll as modest for our friends (and significantly less modest for slavers).

The Stepstones Toll won't exist anymore after tonight anyway. No more non-Imperial harbors anywhere in the area, so we are getting taxes from those ships anyway and don't need to bother with a toll anymore. Same would apply to Qarth once the Lhazareen are integrated.

That toll was useful when we controlled an important waterway and little else, but now we control one and a half continents, so it's no longer useful.

Edit: I should sleep. These sentences are complete garbage. Leaving them as they are for shaming purposes.

At this point we can ditch that toll entirely, tbh. Even if we had the toll I don't think it was ever tracked, and the boost in trade would more than make up for any lost revenue.

We literally own every land that would use that toll anyway. Except for Ib. Ib is just kind of hanging out in the Shivering Sea.

EDIT: Faceless'd.
