*glances at notes*

Sorry guys, we aren't gonna have a second update today, everything moves just so much slower and I can't type that includes writing out my notes and plotting stuff out in detail. I don't really want to wing this, given everything that's at stake so we're just gonna have to stick to next update being tomorrow

S' fine, we have time.

The quest has been running at an incredible speed for years, I doubt anyone gts upset over a little slowdone now.

People who use reader mode to "catch up" can't even stay current with this quest.

It literally moves too fast for people capable of binging 4+ million words of updates to stay up to date, let alone follow 16-17,000~ pages of discussion following each update.

When was the last time we had a lurker become a regular? Early 2017? :V

Hey I try and be a regular voter! I may not talk much but thats just because the mechanics of this quest make my brain hurt...

i mean i did last summer, i also don't talk much but i'm here to

no wait, 2 summers ago now. time flies huh

... Only a few months and this quest will be five years old. o_O
It's also the quest with the highest word count... by a large margin. And with a similar (or shorter) timeframe of writing.

Though there's some who say that other long-running quests have writers who produce prose faster, that doesn't really matter much if they take a six month hiatus every couple of years. :V

Ehhh, you're still a lurker.

I think you have to at least have the presence to be known for shit-posting when no one is talking about the last update to really register around here.

Hell, @egoo could stop doing book keeping AND contributing to discussion and solely focus on shit-posts and that would be enough to be considered a regular.

that's fair. i am terrible at shitposting tho so a lurker i shall remain. unless i see something like the snakedog picture again at which point i will again advocate to make it imediately

From above the sounds of battle ring out, muffled by what sounds like a mere hundred feet of stone.
I know Viserys' hearing is superhuman, he's literally a True Red, but still... a mere hundred feet of stone and he can still hear the battle. How loud is it up there? I'm pretty sure we're walking into a divine war or something, like maybe when the Drowned God was shackled by the Deep Ones.

Since DP told me the rune circle is 100 feet above us, I think that passage is partially in error. More likely, it should have mentioned that the sounds of battle carried through the stone and a mere 100 feet of open air.

It's shitposting, if you go into thinking you have a good idea then you're doing it wrong. :V

I agree on the snake dog thing though; that shit is adorable, and would be fantastic ambassadors for Yss. Nothing eases you into blood sacrifice like starting off with a snake-puppy and reframing the whole thing as giving your dog treats.

Ah, the recognition.
Finally.

Is this the moment Lya finally breaks into that 9th Level Spell barrier?

With the ability to learn spells from no fewer than three fucking spell lists?!

Well, granted, only 8th Level for two of them, but that still opens up a lot of options. Being able to Wild Arcana some 9th level Sorcerer/Wizard options is notable, not only for combat, but also for utility and crafting reasons. @Goldfish has had to restrain himself a bunch of times in the past due to the lack.

  • [X] Thoroughly investigate the runes from a distance.
-[X] One of the Myrkdreki Twins uses their Ancestral Awakening spell to learn the Rune Trace and Greater Disrupt Undead spells. They will then use Rune Trace combined with Shadow Necromancy to duplicate a Spectral Hand spell to learn what they can from the rune circle, reporting it all back to the group before Lya investigates more closely to Aife Communes with the Ferryman.
-[X] Lya will use Wild Arcana to duplicate a Project Image spell. She will use the Illusion's senses to closely examine the rune circle.
-[X] While Lya is occupied, Qyburn will use the Psychic Bodyguard power, augmented not to end after assisting one Will save, on each of the Myrkdreki Twins, for a total of 16 Power Points (11 - 1 (Ring) - 2 (Ring) = 8 [x2]) while setting his Channel Vigor buff to the Mind aspect for a +6 Competence bonus to his Will saves (+31 Will save bonus w/+4 bonus vs Soul Trapping and Mind-Affecting effects).
-[X] Viserys, Richard, and the Twins will remain on guard against attack while watching over Lya's body while her senses occupy her Projected Image.
-[X] Aife will Commune with the Ferryman to learn all she can of events surrounding this situation, the rune circle, and what is happening on the other side of the stone barrier.
-[X] Only after Lya and Aife are finished will we decide on how to proceed.

@Crake, your criteria for "who's a regular" is too stringent IMO. I just browsed the "who replied" feature, and I could recognize everyone in the first 3 pages of usernames, and a bunch of poeple from page 4 if their profile pics are unchanging & unusual. Sure some people are significantly more essential than others (this quest would be a mess without egoo and Duesal to do all the bookkeeping, for example), but just because everyone hasn't made thousands of posts in this thread doesn't mean that everyone thinks they're a new lurker whenever they vote.
Even if you don't post much and don't match our dedicated shitposting, that doesn't mean that you're a full lurker either.
To find the real lurkers, check out the 10+ people who like every update but never seem to vote or comment. They exist! They're unrecognizable! I was surprised!

Although people like Jack vile Ripper who change their profile pic every 3 weeks are also confusing to me. Jack, the only reason I know who you are is your memorable sig - what's the point of an unrecognizable profile pic? Is it some sort of message about what you're currently feeling, or what fandom you just dove into? Is there some sort of overall pattern I'm missing?

@Goldfish has had to restrain himself a bunch of times in the past due to the lack.
Calling our crafting "restrained" is like calling the US bombing of North Korea "restrained" just because no nukes were used. Technically correct, if your sense of scale is completely insane

The leaf cares not from whence the wind blows, from the tallest peaks or violent streams.

Sorry, friend. I changed it because I followed my heart y'see. As long as it is insane, weird or just plain ol' beauty, I would change my pfp to it.

('sides, this is from Tsukihime Remake. Why wouldn't I change it to that?)
