A slight shift then. Does anyone know how our Lawmen are set up internally? I mean are there lawmen that are trained as investigators? Or is it more general? Do they have an Inquisition liaison to ensure there are no unintentional crossovers regarding investigations?

I think that that's it now.

[X] turnvote

...it's really jsut a formality at this point, it is ready by now, so don't bother compiling all the actions into the chapter again as you do every turnvote @DragonParadox

Sea of Fire: While some Salamander Clans remained focused on countering Efreeti forces in their domain, many have scattered hither and yon looking for easy plunder looking for easy pickings and likely to become that themselves if they do not organize again. Whether that is enemy action or simple greed your allies cannot say for certain .
After Westeros and Qohor we need to send some agents to help them organize.

@egoo, could you add this to the patrol action of the Type-C Wyverns?

-[] Use Serpentstone Recorders to take reconnaissance videos of Westeros. To get a good quality, try low altitude and low speed (500m, 200km/h) fly-overs during mid-day.
-[] Areas to cover:
--[] Coast near Parchments in the Stormlands
--[] Coast of Blackwater Bay, especially the estuary of the Blackwater.
--[] The Fingers in the Vale
--[] The Neck in the North
--[] Coast near White Harbor in the North.
--[] The Arbor in the Reach.
--[] Coast near Oldtown in the Reach.
--[] The Bay of Crabs in the Riverlands.

This will look like scouting for landing sites to prepare a naval invasion. Obviously, all of this is utter horse shit and a distraction. The sites were choosen to either give our loyalists a pre-text to raise their armies or to lure Lannister aligned forces into traps.

[X] Ibbenese and Northern Sea Rumors

One last place we need to hear from.
Eeeeeeeh.
I'm not enthused. Too small an area, too little of interest happened there before.
We can turn an eye/ear to it later, forcing DP into writing one too many plotlines had bitten us in the ass before.

Wind Ships: With the aid of his djinn guest, Sorrol Zo has succeeded in setting to water swan ships that can bend the very winds to their captain's will. Given your own efforts in forging the Moonchaser and other great vessels of the which can cross over land, sea and under it, in other Spheres and even the black heavens above, you would have little interest in this success save for one small and seemingly mundane detail. According to the Red Priest who is providing you information on the process it is extraordinarily cheap, much more so than enchantments and elemental bindings should be. Unfortunately your source has been less able to discern how well the process scales or how skilled the enchanters must be.
While it's mostly worthless for the air force, this is looking pretty great for mercantile interests. I'd like to eventually trade for this lore and spread the magitech to our companies.

Reports from the War of Three Spheres

Twenty Ninth Day of the Second Month 294 AC

Ashen Cysts: Through a massive investment of forces on the side of the Peerless Empire, including armies of oreads and mortals, Xorn infiltrators and engines of war wrought for the purpose, three of the great ashen fortresses came under heavy attack such as has not been seen in decades, perhaps centuries. Still, to commit such a force to a single attack would have been an act of folly bordering on madness were it not for the final ingredient of this bloody brew; treachery. The commanders of two of the Cyst Cities fell to coups organized by subordinates paid off in Shaitan glassteel, allowing many of the arcane defenses to be lowered just as the final assault began. A third coup failed when faced with a sufficiently paranoid malik, but when the final tally was taken none could doubt that the Opal Throne came out ahead of the gambit.

The fortresses are currently garrisoned by some of the same army elements that aided in their taking, but in the long term the Peerless Empire has no interest of expanding its influence to such an extemt. It is entirely possible the Sultana was sincere in offering the renegade efreeti rule of the cities. The caste of Pale Ones, who have been indoctrinated more than any azer slave or Ifrit janissary prove to be a unique challenge, however. Only time will tell what the Sultana and her council decides to do with them.

River of Tears: The River of Tears returns to a stalemate after the losses of the last few months, with most of the vital convoys getting through but at the cost of stronger escorts than the Brazen Throne might prefer.

Sea of Fire: While some Salamander Clans remained focused on countering Efreeti forces in their domain, many have scattered hither and yon, looking for easy pickings and likely to become that themselves if they do not organize again. Whether that is enemy action or simple greed, your allies cannot say for certain.

Div's Delight: More Div begin to appear in the realm that bears their name. Are they cursed spirits woken from slumber or the heralds of something worse? Spies and oracles alike are yet blind to the answer, though the front grows more uneasy with every new sighting. The Shaitan would welcome investigators who can look at the conundrum with new eyes if you can spare anyone capable of enduring the grinding war of that wretched realm.

Veil of Brimstone: The Djinn have withdrawn most mobile assets from the front for the moment following last month's loses, leaving behind light ships and infiltrators to shadow Efreeti operations. Plans are in the works for a surprise offensive on the front in two to four months after the enemy's vigilance has waned and his eye has been drawn to other quarters.

What next?

[] Write in

OOC: The way I'm handling these rolls is that I have one big 'does anything happen dice' at the beginning and only if and event triggers do I get into the details of the front shifting dramatically. That keeps things from looking too volatile. This is after all a war that has lasted for thousands of years. Not yet edited.
Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

It would be really hilarious if the Lannisters fall for the bait and send an army to the southern shore of the Bay of Crabs. From their perspective, it would even make a lot of sense. From there, it could support forces in the Crownlands, relieve a potential siege of Kings Landing or march to the Riverlands to try and attack our forces there from one side while another army marches from the Westerlands to make it an encirclement.

It's a really good move on paper. Except that the actual situation they would find themselves in would be almost comically bad for them.

We could sell that ruse by sending some ships that way, too, when the time is right. It wouldn't take much effort or resource investment in our part to make it seem like we are getting ready to set up a landing and fortified beachhead there.

Can we spare someone to look over this?

I don't mean a troop to make a difference in the war, just one or two mages to try looking from a fresh perspective, and a Herald for their Programmed Lore skill.
