Right, make that 6 days (they still need to eat and sleep)
Very nice. So that means between the Dawn Fruit and Banner of Swiftness our Legion soldiers are able to march 50 kilometers per day in full gear without suffering from fatigue or exhaustion.

This is marching over open plains, though, so what would it be if they were using our roads?

They are marching over the old Sarnori roads, which are still in pretty decent condition. Your roads would make it 55 miles a day. You start to hit diminishing returns when you give better roads to a literally untiring army

@Goldfish Are we really going to stick around? I'm not greatly opposed to that, but it is an interesting decision.
I would rather not stick around the whole time, since there are other things we can be doing, but I'm not opposed to it if y'all would prefer following along with the Legion. Either way works for me, especially since DP said we can see more of our other groups in action while Viserys is with the Legion.

I just figure if we don't diplomance Marid now, we aren't going to do it at all. There's just too many pressing needs.

I don't think we should leave our army without any companion level characters. If the wrong threat pops up they could be wiped out on the march.

Goal of this vote is to mitigate the consequences of a bad encounter roll, and lay more groundwork for getting Sathar to join the Imperium later.

[X] Viserys and Richard, along with those forces which are not assigned elsewhere, will accompany the Legions, vigilant for anymore unexpected threats. After all, our allies are but a Sending away.
-[X] Try to establish the beginnings of camaraderie between the legion and the undead troops marching with them, and have Viserys establish a better relationship with their leadership.
-[X] Viserys will walk among the troops, spend some time talking with them, and helping to keep morale high

@DragonParadox Omber joined the Imperium, and I plan on getting them onto the sheet soon, but any word back from Saath? Or are they doing as I suspect and waiting for this thing with the undead to blow over? AFAIK they haven't even mentioned it, unless they were delaying talking about anything of substance with our diplomats for some reason.

They still have a large number of OP-units.
The 3 moonchasers, all the Heralds, the Adamantine Golem, the Hadhayosh, etc...

Need some more votes, y'all. We've got two solid options, one to go and do various work that could use the ole Viserys touch, and the other to stay with the Legions and further develop ties with our new Undead allies.

  • [X] Everyone resumes activities as per normal, regrouping with Gerold when the enemy makes a serious attempt at giving battle. He will have a supply of Sending Stones to give you an update when anything significant happens. Small skirmishes which do not pose significant logistical issues that need to be solved with powerful magic can go unreported until the next significant event.
--[X] Viserys, Richard and Mereth will visit Elyria to meet with the ruling nobility there.
---[X] You tentatively plan on spending around 3-5 days in Water afterwards.

Viserys had nothing important to do this month, so he might as well accompany the army and kill the next attempt to harass them.
Also marching with our army is propably good for morale and stuff, this is pretty hostile, dead land.

This becomes very quickly impractical, because the usual White Walker method of "snuff out all the flames with my OP PLS NERF ice powahz" doesn't work.
I suspect they can still do it. A dispel against the fire affecting a large area, combined with a permanent aura that snuffs out the flames as soon as they are mundane fire works, for example.

I stand by what I said. This is a good shot at further improving relations with the Sarnori.

Yeah, but it's not a simple one-and-done kinda thing. Action economy. If you got powerful spellcasters wasting time bringing down screens of wildfire, you don't have them throwing death curses or large-scale AOE effects out. And since you're using regular munitions to start wildfire explosions, you aren't wasting your own actions on setting fires either.

These are going to be some amazing meetings. Would Spark of Life allow the undead to eat normal food and enjoy it? 🤔

True, true.

I guess it depends on how hard it is to dispel Wildfire.
If mook-casters can do it, then they can waste their actions with Wands of Dispel while Lord Frostfart Winterchief the Mythic only has to be near the fire to flex his aura-like effects and can spend his actions on other things.

Still a waste of caster even in that case though, since those mook-casters are busy and not counterspelling our Scholarium-Sorcerer's Fireballs.

@Archibald You should have Viserys walk among the troops, too. That'll get morale REALLY high.

I'd imagine so, considering this "It must breathe, eat, and sleep just like a normal living creature (though the last two aren't likely to come into play thanks to the spell's short duration)." If you can come up with a way of using it to effect a large number of undead, I'll add in offering to use it on our allies.
