Whew, pricey! Understandable, though.

What would y'all rather focus on from these three, if we put Anu on such a project? I think Commando Warforged would be the best choice for combat purposes, but Transforming Warforged could be really useful, too.

I am more interested at the Transforming template by sheer virtue of wide assortments of applications

This is what the Warcraft Forsaken should have been about

A pity that Blizzard degrading their plot quality over the years made them become what they are now
I'm not so sure.
THe first idea of the Forsaken was "Vengance against the Lich King and his goons", from their first appearance in Frozen Throne.

This here is no rebellion against the forces that made them undead, just kinda trying to live with it.

I've been looking through some plant creatures, and the kapre looks really interesting. A dire sorcerer creature kapre, would be able to cast up to 9th level spells at CL28, with a charisma score of 26, and still be a cr15 creature by forge standards. Only downside is that its really huge.

The plot degrading started once Arthas bit the bullet

They went full omnicidal-army raising psychopaths once the Lich King died. There would have been so many ways for them to grow once they had their vengeance. Yet now we know how they ended.

I swear I liked Sylvanas, until Cataclysm happened, at least.

Remember, 'HACKTUALLY, S(H)E IS YOUR PRESIDENT WARCHIEF' is inherently deceitful. Sylvanas is a war criminal and a stain upon the Horde. I didn't pick up that Blight Sprayer, and I saved Alliance AND Horde she tried to butcher! And anyone who did is a war criminal too!

Barring Divine intervention to elevate a servitor to Champion/Herald status, the Forges cap out at producing spellcasters capable of using 5th level spells at up to 15th caster level.

Kapres could be good base Plants for high level servitors, though.

@Goldfish those templates are nice, but making the warforged even more expensive and fancy before we have more than one of each type seems like putting the cart before the horse to me. I think using the warforged as cornerstones for mostly mindless units would be more effective for the immediate future. It'd also have the bonus of thematically connecting to their original state while still being a fairly unique style of warfare from the perspective of the prime material.

The action economy for one warforged supported by a cadre of clockwork background dancers alone is a compelling argument for deploying them in this way instead of as even more expensive elites.

We've got 500 Warforged on order this month, 100 of each type.

A +1 CR template won't increase the cost of a Warforged by very much, either. From 225 IM for a regular model to 300 IM with the template isn't that significant. +75 IM for a Warforged capable of flight or underwater combat would be well worth the expense, IMO.

That's months away, though, if we even go that route.

I was just checking the mechanics and realized my proposal wouldn't work with the creatures I was using. For some reason I assumed that the war forged would be more expensive than mindless stuff, but it only lists cost by CR so that doesn't apply.

For something like what I want to try to work we'd need to use creatures like Clockwork Drones and Clockwork Scouts. It could be viable with the right weapons, but it's not as straightforward as I thought.

The drones would make good supporting elements though, so that's something at least.

Diplomacy is not my forte, and it looks like we're going to have to use the soft sell rather than coming outright and saying we can give them new bodies and the like.

Sylvanas couldn't lead a horde of chickens. Or at leas the way she's currently written couldn't.

Have to admit in the trailer she was impressive, downright inspiring even, but goes to show you can't trust politicians.

Fair's fair, idiot ball is a heavy burden to bear.

But, ah, to paraphrase a certain Lordaeron King... "There must always be an Expansion-Driving Villain".
Starting Darkshore, Stupid Shit™ just kept piling up in the writing.

And, well, while I get why most players are driven off, I stand fast with the only remaining Horde-aligned char from W3.
...No, Green Jeezus doesn't count, shut up.

  • [X] While Tyene and Dany go to snoop under the guise of looking after horses, you will try to gain a sense of what drives the lord here, if that could be reconciled with some of your own ideas for the region.
-[X] Ultimately you are willing to tolerate autonomous city-states with the knowledge that they will fall under your direct sphere of influence in essentially all cases barring open warfare or isolationism. Your economic primacy and your military support being essential to remain independent states will render them into protectorates within a generation or two.
-[X] You hope they will willingly form a union with the Imperium but that can manifest itself over time. If this lord can convince many of his rusticating fellows to ally themselves with you for a campaign against Sarnath, with the assurance your attentions will soon fall upon the perfidious Gornath thereafter, you are willing to extend some trust to make it happen.
