It's been 2-3 months in quest time, so maybe...

The Shara vote refers to the last time they all leveled, hers was just never voted upon.
Just wanted to mention it since those two are still waffling around at level 4-5 or so.

On that note, could you add this?
-[] Let Dany do some Divination to figure out what weapons have been delivered to Kings Landing and what Tywin is holding back. Also try to Divine the location of their operators.

Unless they somehow figured out how to make the weapons fire themselves, they need crews trained in their use, which are a goldmine of information and there are just too many to ward them.

For all that we love poking fun at Tywin pretty sure his plans to fight us are more complex than that.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if using all his wealth to make tons of dangerous golems or something since he can easily afford it.
It would be even more helpful if they were investing in Golems. Those are generally very expensive and require higher level casters. If they're spending time in Golems, they aren't producing a lot of higher level stuff that could be more dangerous to more people.

Mia and Anya are both level 7 now, and coming along nicely. Their recent level ups were both quite good for expanding their capabilities.

We do need to handle Shara's level up, though.

EDIT: @TalonofAnathrax, remind me of what class you wanted Shara to level up in?

Could have layed a Lair Ward of Mindblank over the area these weapons (or other things) are worked on.

These are Westerosi. I would be shocked if they have the ability and funding to Mind Blanked an entire facility. They'd at most would cover the place with lead, but even then it would've been a much lower quality.

And each person working on the project needs to be granted a Mind Blank item, which considering their tech-level and general attitude of the Andal lords, would be laughable improbable.

Thanks for the reminder. So that's Sarell and Shara who need level ups votes on.

I'll make a note so I hopefully won't forget.

Sarell will get her 11th HD, so no feats or stats, just a few skillpoints.

What is relevant is that she gets Grace (major boost on all saves), Discern Lies as a SLA and a Healing Hand (or Deadly Touch, but I don't think we have any reason to pick that).

Grace will be especially nice for Sarell because of her high Charisma, which we can enhance further with a gear upgrade. It'll be easy to get her another +9 on her saving throws.

Now to be fair let's not fall into the same trap Robert's court seems to have and underestimate our opponents.

If there is such a facility all they need are servitors without a mind to read and/or a location that's unable/unlikely to be divined.

We know for a fact they also have access to extra planar resources, if not to the same level we do of course. They could simply outsource their murder machine manufacturing.

We've made a lot of friends, but money is money and there's plenty of unscrupulous beings who'd build weapons for the right price.

Part MMMDXV: Treading Water
Treading Water

Seventeenth Day of the First Month 294 AC

From the plots of King's Landing and the weapons that are supposed to guard it you move on to the Royal Fleet which should be guardian the capital's waters, but which you suspect holds more than a few loyalists of your House still by virtue of its association with the smallfolk and petty nobility of the Narrow Sea. Alas, you are not the only one with those suspicions.

"Guncer Sunglass purged the fleet of 'suspected traitors' of every stripe." Likely noticing your darkening expression Bloodraven hastens to add: "He only sent officers he did not count loyal or pious enough off, not that I do not suspect the man of wanting to, but Pycelle made himself useful getting the High Septon involved in curbing the worst of the fool's zeal. It would not do for 'the Spider' after all to come off as lacking in ruthlessness. Still, between the officers who were selected for the strength of their faith as much as their loyalty to the crown and the sailors who were inflicted with fiery sermons against the evils of sorcery daily it might be difficult to get many in the fleet to surrender."

"So there is nothing worse than ramming and bolts from the fleet?" Surely not even the Usurper would be so foolish as to fail to arm his ships with magic in the name of maintaining loyalty.

"They are all equipped with simple alchemical launchers and have one or more Golden Shield Wand Mages attached. Their available wands are such that they can do anything from allowing the boarders to cut through arcane protections, to offering mild boons to the ship's weaponry and dispelling enemy magics. All are limited by both range and the degree of arcane complexity that can be bound into wands made available to many."

  • 2 Great Galleons
  • 27 Large Galleons
  • 21 Small Galleons
  • 31 Sloops
Simple alchemical weapons designed for ship to ship fighting
Wand Mages on each ship larger than a sloop (Spell Level 1-4)

"How much of a strain is all this putting on the treasury, particularly given Baelish's meddling?" you ask, surprised and wary at hearing of that many sailors pressed to serve.

"Enough that I would worry about how the realm would be run after the conquest if I thought Baratheon's treasury would make much difference compared to what you have amassed," Bloodraven replied. "The royal coffers have perhaps on the order of two or three hundred thousand dragons left and debt is piling up with every noble House loyal enough to still lend the crown money, including of course the Lannisters, for the value of loyalty, that includes passing off their bastards as his heirs."

"I do not think Tywin Lannister knows about his children's doing," you point out in the interest of truthfulness, not fairness.

"Folly can be treason," he scoffs.

"And folly and treason together can be worse when a man does not know how to show loyalty," you muse, a decision hardening in your thoughts: "Get rid of Baelish, he has served his purpose and I do not want him interfering with the invasion."

"So no later than the end of the third month," he nods. "You do realize he might be replaced with someone competent..."

"Then perhaps I will have some task for that unfortunate soul when they no longer have to sift through the ashes of Robert Baratheon's domain," you wave the matter off. "I doubt they can do anything substantive to help the current holder of the Iron throne in so short a time."

"It will be done, Your Grace," Bloodraven nods firmly, the same gesture you imagine he must have given when commanded to kill by three other kings of your line.

"Good, then there is one other matter of concern in the Crownlands, this plot against Lord Velaryon..."

"Aims to kill him in a way that implicates neither the Golden Shields nor the crown directly, but hints at it strongly enough to cow other lords of his alliance," he replies smoothly. "That much I can see, but not the dagger being used nor the hand that bears it. Given the queen's involvement I would wager it is rash and vindictive, in a way that only someone who considers themselves brilliant without any cause can manage."

What next?

OOC: Doing a giant list of lords would have made this update much too cluttered so instead consider you have been told IC, and when a certain lord comes up you will know if they still have court connections.

*sigh*

Apologies, it's just that... it's Westeros y'know? It's hard not to get disgusted by their continued existence.
We know for a fact they also have access to extra planar resources, if not to the same level we do of course. They could simply outsource their murder machine manufacturing.

We've made a lot of friends, but money is money and there's plenty of unscrupulous beings who'd build weapons for the right price.

That reminds me...

Who do you think would be their trading partner? We've got the Goldcloaks sniffing their noses around the Opaline Vault and Tywin has his pact with Baator.

The Upper Realm is right and proper fucked. And no one, not even Andals (unfortunately) would use the backings of the Abyss or the Trumpets of Abaddon.

There are several guesses on which one will they bond their pacts.

A) Armun Kelisk

B) Vialesk

C) Feywyld

D) Court of Brass

The first two is improbable considering our Contract and Aid that we have provided them. The third is only applicable in the Reach, where not even the Squatting Stag is able to control their flighty minds.

Thus that lead to the last.

Now the question is this: "Is Fatty stupid enough to plunge his realm to that fiery cadaver the Heirs of Iblis called support?"

Even so, he and his court and the nobles that agreed to the notion would havr their PR punted down so hard, that Tiamat would wince.

Thats a bit of numbers for the ship mages. Hopefully they aren't all brainwashed enough to be integrated into the scholareum.
