While an amusing thought, I wouldn't allow that and I doubt DP would either. It makes an already very powerful technique a bit too OP. Limiting it to the base arrow and whatever magic it has been imbued with by the bow or whatever special properties it may have (Cold Iron, Adamantine, etc) is more than enough, IMO.

Even if it was possible, however, it would still require 10 specialty arrows to work, since each arrow fired only splits once.
She could still fire 10 specialty arrows... :o

Once Mereth and Richard start dating she would be very much like a companion. The first of the Steel Furies
On one hand I don't think they like each other that way, on the other their dates would probably involve assassinating our enemies or something.

Watching Richard deal with fatherhood would be great too, if it ever got that far.

— In a Distant Future —
Micro-Erinyes: "one more story daddy"

Richard: " it really is time for you to go to sleep, I think one is enough "
Micro-Erinyes: * Big watery puppy dog eyes *
Richard: "Nice try, but you have a busy day tomorrow "
Micro-Erinyes: * pathetically shuffles wings a little* *stare intensifies*

Richard: *Fails will save. Badly*
...

Richard: " I suppose one more wouldn't hurt"

Micro-Erinyes: * fist pump * " tell me about that time you and mommy street raced on Bebilith across Heaven's Shore again!"

She could still fire 10 specialty arrows... :o
Maybe some of these kinds of special arrows, but nothing with Alchemical payloads or additional enchantments.

I'm especially interested in these. On their own, they're not very impressive, but ten of them hitting a target simultaneously could do 3d10 damage in a 5ft radius. That's not trivial damage.

Part MMMDV: Secrets of the Trade
Secrets of the Trade

Sixteenth Day of the First Month 294 AC

"Are we? I'm afraid we are mostly here to have a chat with you and see what we can learn about your esteemed colleagues." The last two words are said with the same inflection Qyburn would use, or at least a fair approximation thereof. A lifetime's scorn is not an easy thing to copy. "Should this be your worry, then let me assure you that the Dragon is perfectly content to leave people be, if they afford him the same courtesy. However, you do not strike me as a person who would be content to watch things unfold from a manse in Armun Kelisk, even though you likely could secure one for yourself."

The archmaester's eyes gleam with more than the light of the flickering lantern. Ambition has as familiar light all of its own and so does greed. "Armun Kelisk," he muses. "How far the Dragon King reaches beyond even his swift grasp to count the whole world his, from the burning sands of the Red Waste to the forests of Mossovy."

"However, I will admit, there are plenty who found his bribes quite tempting. Access to the finest laboratories. Ample funds for whatever research they fancy. A library that knows few if any equals on this plane. All things that have tempted many and all he expected in return is for them to share their knowledge freely with him." You pause and lower your voice ever so slightly. "The question is what you want to do with your future."

To your surprise the archmaester replies in draconic, low and hissing, guessing perhaps that Corlys Waters would either know the common trade tongue of the Inner Spheres or have some magic to translate it. "I want what should be mine by right of the ring, rod and mask I bear, the contents of the deep vaults." Returning to Common he adds: "Instead of fools doing more harm than good with all that is hoarded there against the threat of the world's darkening."

"What manner of tomes?" Kira asked, her 'mother's' curiosity shinning through clear as day.

"I do not know for certain, for Perestan and his ilk do not ordinarily bring them out. The one time I managed to smuggle one out..."

"I managed to smuggle one out," Sari points out loudly, though without any bite to her words.

"Regardless, now is not the time to be reminiscing of such things," Vargo interjects so quickly you suspect there is rather more than theft behind it all. "Certainly no time to bend the knee, Marwyn, no matter how sweet you find the words for there is no king to bow to here."

If only he knew. "You mentioned something about the Lannisters?" you prompt.

"Lore for lore I would trade," the archmaester of magic replied. "Tell me Braavosi, how was the House of Black and White brought to heel and by what pacts did they retain their arts through the long waning? Surely the Dragon King must have informed your lord."

What do you reply?

[] Offer him an account of how the House of Black and White operated and what agreement it has reached with the realm

[] Trade some other piece of lore
-[] Write in

[] Write in

OOC: And here we are, a bit short but hopefully with an engaging enough vote.

I am very interested in what these could be.

Maybe bygone lore from the Dawn Age, or something important about the Sundering.

The more I hear from Marwyn, the more I'm tempted to call Qyburn over and start plotting a... let's call it a spirited academic disagreement.

[X] "It wasn't any whole part who retained their services for the betterment of state and the doom of ancient evils. Better said a House divided, apt as the turn of phrase is."
-[X] Offer him and account of how the House of Black and White operated and what agreement it has reached with the realm.
--[X] Hear what he has to say of Lannisters and their doings.
---[X] "You are not the only one interested in what secrets rest in the deepest parts of the Citadel, lore squandered and moldering in the dark where none could put it toward any tangible use or benefit toward the many."
----[X] Make a serious offer: "It is said that those high up in the esteem of the King can find themselves onto the road of favor after favor, with access to restricted lore and works of artifice which would be hard sought after even in the Inner Spheres, where vast marketplaces stretch, being the least of such."
-----[X] "Rather than trade on tales, why not see first the fruits of trust borne at their source? Not only would he likely happily share the wealth of knowledge the Citadel would rather lie buried once he turns his full attention toward them, with the trust garnered cooperating on other such matters, one could likely change the world."
------[X] Viserys and Marwyn split or share the spoils within the Vaults of the Citadel, depending on their nature, and Marwyn makes serious progress towards becoming a trusted agent, the particulars of which are left up to the two of them to discuss, with his friends of course offered similar consideration.

"Tell me Braavosi, how was the House of Black and White brought to heel "

We asked. Nicely.

M:"Tell me, then, how is that the Dark Lady of Naath was brought under your heel"

V: "She came and offered to join our real in exchange for a Scholarum branch there"

M: "Then how it was that you managed to secure the alliance of Volantis, and the dreadfully exaggerated egos of their magisters?"

V: "By helping a coup to murder all the political opposition there"

M: "Right, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm in"

[X] Plan What We Can Say
-[X] Tell him that the House of Black and White splintered. The larger part willingly bent the knee, while some others broke away and left the Imperium to parts unknown.
-[X] Where they went and what they are doing now is being investigated by the Inquisition, due to concerns what a rogue death-cult might turn into.
-[X] You are assuming that the Dragon didn't accept their oaths without more detailed knowledge of their inner workings, but this information is above your pay-grade.
-[X] However, you consider it likely that the relevant knowledge would be on the table, if Marwyn were to ask the Dragon personally for it. Especially if he is willing to share the knowledge of the Citadel in return. Especially the tomes that some are trying to bury in it's vaults.
-[X] Suggest a formal meeting between Marwyn and Viserys Targaryen in the coming days on neutral ground and off the books. Ask Marwyn what he is willing to offer in regards to cooperation and what he would ask in return.

V: "Oh! And that one time, in Lys, I've staged a coup that murdered one half of the opposition, then started an attack on me during which I could kill the other half. I'm still holding their entire possessions in trust for the heirs, who are being carefully indo--... educated by my people."

"...and how did you secure the allegiance of the Sea Dragon of Tolos?"

"I dueled him over a mountain and sliced his throat open, then sealed his oath of fealty in his own blood, mortal wound healed by mine own hand."

"And how is it that to you secured the allegiance of a Red Dragon of elder blood?"

"He was a dracolich who I restored to life through a ritual, bound in flesh to a Dragon Egg I recovered inside of a Valyrian ruin."

"And how is it you managed to gain the allegiance of a long-lost Valyrian Mage-Priest?"

"Slew an avatar of Tiamat and some of his fellows turned traitor to her machinations, and grew bonds of blood and battle while gazing over the literal ruins of his entire life while promising him glory and wealth."

"And how is it that you managed to gain the loyalty of..."

"Used impromptu wishcraft to leash her to life, then sacrificed a fortune in artifice to steal her and her power from the Void."

"Helped slay an accursed genie sorcerer-lord and broke the curse on what amounts to a Djinn princess, then used that favor to form an amicable business partnership with the Grand Vizier of the Shaitan, then used several successful jobs to arrange a conclave between two planar powers and a military alliance against a shared foe."

"Okay. One last question. How'd you get a fucking Living Avatar of a God who could outmuscle most divine Aspects?"

"I bought a belt in a market for a pouch of silver and made sure to feed it well."

Marwyn: "Now I know you're fucking with me."

Viserys: "..."

Marwyn: :wtf:
