Also worth keeping in mind, the fight Richard had with him specifically notes that if he hadn't been holding back due to tourney rules, he probably would have killed him in the second exchange.

Granted, being able to survive to two exchanges with Ser Richard is basically like saying you are a certified badass.

You're just not a Richard.

We may want to also see into the Masters main tower in the old town and copy all of their books. Just in case they get any silly ideas.

So will we not be fighting fey. Because if we are my point stands.

I am not saying that we won't fight fey. I am saying that for the most part, Westeros will be a cakewalk. For the most part. As for dead Forge creatures...well there is a reason why we have mass-produced as we have. Losing two, three even 10 Drakenbeasts isn't really worth the tears..

Edit: We could probably make creatures in the forge that can fight most fey.

Admittedly, so long as we don't directly do anything to threaten the library, they will be extremely reluctant to burn it all out of spite. It very well might mark the end of their entire organization, regardless of how the cards fall.

Granted I bet there is at least one spiteful madman in the The Conspiracy who would do it because he hates dragons and losing his power and influence that much, but I imagine 90% of the people in that faction do not want to destroy the Citadel or its knowledge.

The Fey knight is strong, no doubt. But he's also expensive, and his like don't even have the decency to accept money. We won't be fighting a lot of them.

I mean I'd rather not have that 1% do anything foolish and deprive us of that knowledge. I mean they are an order that has been collecting knowledge for thousands of years, there might be some goodies to help prop up our mundane knowledge along with more lost lore.

The organization ends either way. Either they burn it to the ground or we dismantle it. Also we should probably have the Inquisition spy on these assholes. Just to see what they are capable of.

Supposing we prevent them from destroying the building itself, that is a lot of DNA samples we can collect for scrying materials... try escaping when your enemy knows where you'll be sleeping within 24 hours, even if you try running to Bloodstone Emps or Dis.

If we can identify the members of the Conspiracy, have their genetic material taken and Scry-Die, then the Citadel as a faction is basically over. They would actually be the easier faction to take out.

I mean, if they play their cards right there's no reason why the least politically inclined of the Maesters can't just remain in the University of Oldtown and basically have everything they actually give a damn about. It's the ones who care about their power over the continent who actually lose out.

Alas, that those guys are the ones in charge of things, and they may well have the fanatical underlings and magical artifacts to make a good go at denying us the library if they feel like it.

The institution isn't just the Citadel. These men have the monopoly of knowledge all over the kingdoms. Our very existence threatens this monopoly and we aren't going to let the monopoly stand. As it is, when we take over that monopoly is dead and the institution will be so changed that it won't be the same. Basically it is destroyed.

Edit: TLDR for intents and purposes the Citadel without the monopoly is different enough from the original that it is a different organization.

The loss of knowledge, while sad, would be something we could move past. I just want to ensure they won't be a persistent little vermin always scraping up our walls and poking their noses around to bother us.

I would happily trade every single book in the Citadel for the complete, total and utter destruction of the Conspiracy.

Just feed Yss a fuck ton of sacrifices in exchange for the restoration of the Citadel and all its research. There. Done.

@Crake, please lend Ashford one of our Shadowforged Mind Blank rings rather than a standard ring?
