Okay so I really hope Ymnir exists. Using the Void's Winter creatures to avoid long-term global warming and living space problems by literally creating new habitable planets as needed is amazing and I love it.
No need for magitech geoengineering or extradimensional space urban planning when you can literally bash out new planets!

EDIT : I'm not saying that he's necessary or that those problems are inevitable, but using Winter's creatures to fix them is dope.

They do only create Skyrim Worlds, tho...

Edit: I guess we can do a little magical terraforming and geo-engineering.

Ymir being slain on Planetos eons ago would be a very neat explanation for the Land of Always Winter, with the resulting demiplane overlapping and spilling over into/on to the planet.

Since the one who deals the killing blow also gains significant control of the demiplane, it could also explain how the Others came about and they ended up Void-tainted. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch, if that bad apple is rotten with Voidstuff and in charge of your new section of reality.

Wouldn't be a bad explanation for why the seasons are so radically unstable on Planetos, either.

Oh, wouldn't that be a mindfuck, if the Others are descended from a one-time hero who turned to the Void for the power necessary to slay Ymir before Planetos could be turned into a lifeless frozen wasteland due to it's presence? I doubt the Void and Ymir would ever be allies, since one represents a force actively seeking the dissolution of existence, while the other might very well be one of the metaphysical underpinnings of reality.

Um no it does not, if he's killed in space it produces an Earth-like world, provided it's done somewhere it can go into orbit around a sun, his corpse only become a Skyrim world, if he's killed far enough from a sun that the planet can't go into orbit, in that case the lingering magic of his corpse ensure that life can still exist on the planet, but it only provide the minimum needed for life, which mean Skyrim conditions, if he's killed near enough to a sun however, he provide an Earth like world.

The thing honestly does look like something that might just have spawned the Lands of Eternal Winter:
But, ah, of course it is better not to make such assumptions.

Fucking awesome imagery, tho.
Very fitting to some Amon Amarth-y epics :V
Bones of a New World (Su)

The double frack!?
It's just some nice and harmless nordic mythology.
Didn't you know our world is formed from the corpse of a giant?

Say what happens if this guy dies off Plane? Like the plane of air? Flat Earthers get a win? Or the other Planes? I'm guessing the last one popped up between the Feywild and the Prime Material.

What happens if we pop one off where Elysium used to be after fixing the Good energy leak? Elysium 2 0 now with more Mead? Or one in Heavens Mount Celestia after fixing that hole? Viking Angels?

Joke so dead, you can make an Unraveling out of it.
Sadly it was its destiny to die.

Let's focus on the

Are you suggesting we commit deicide in what amounts to Heaven in this thrash heap of a world?
Eh kill a CE deity in broken heaven while fixing it. Sounds about right for making a new World Tree.

Elysium works too. We do need a new one altogether. Heaven atleast is still relatively in one piece if cracked through.

Pull a few bits of Elysium together and pop off a bit of deity murder on a Weirwood seed. Presto changeo Elysium 2.0 with a giant tree to match.

That's so fucking awesome that if I were the GM I'd allow it, despite it going against the whole "this is a huge problem that isn't fixable in a single eon" vibe that Hellven has.
Obviously we would have to fix the hole first. You cant plant a tree in a pot with a hole in it.

Besides Elysium fits better and it's the more pertinent problem too. Heaven we can sculpt it back in time. There isnt enough super glue in the Multiverse to stick Elysium back together. So might as well just order a new one.
