But then what happened to that whole line of the Ship being attracted to Lohos in that interlude. She blushed if I recall. And he was gathering a crew too from another. It never got tied together maybe, but there was another interlude with Lohos Asha and Theon on Queen Rhaella doing something. Raising old ships maybe?
Where our various vassals are assigned each month has little to no regard for distance because we abuse Teleport.

People could be sailing with the Great Expedition Fleet to Yi Ti one month and the next be taking care of a barrow Beyond the Wall.

Also yes, I wouldn't be surprised if they were assigned to raising ships. @Crake in particular is very fond of the practice of reclaiming old assets like that.

I'm not asking where they are assigned, as obviously that's chaotic. But more so what they are doing. Adventurer, Captain of X, Favors Exploring, etc. Flowers joined the legion. Menel was working for SSE last I heard. Like that. Apparently Lohos and Koron are low key B Team?

More comprehensive write-ups on their activities would be nice, but we have a lot of people to keep up with now. Generally, on top of whatever regular duties they have taken on since being Reincarnated, we have started to use them as troubleshooters. They aren't amazingly powerful PCs by any means, but they are very experienced, which goes a long way toward making them useful.

I AM HEREEEE! FINALLY!

Took me close to a month to read everything. And I mean, every.single.page.

And what a journey it has been! Between the saltsplosions, inter-planar warfare and horrors from beyond, the thread's done well for itself.

Looking forward for more DP!

In the end the lord is convinced to the utility of breathing hoods which the shaitan themselves use for harvesting blood crystals, you suspect it is more the utility of keeping skilled workers alive than any great concern for their own sake, but whatever the cause the results are the same. On the matter of protection against wild magic he is more resistant. "You want me to pay a wizard to check them over every moonturn for who knows what strange warping?" He shakes his head. "Coughing up blood they understand, hells, dying they understand, but spread that take around and I'd not have one man in ten willing to go under the hill."
His greed greatly appeals to me. I like this guy.

Does he think the peasants would be more amiable to being checked over by a wizard if they think it means a chance of gaining magic powers?
Maybe. I think he's being a bit too cautious. His peasants are clearly willing to risk freaky shit happening to them for the promise of good pay, so they're way less superstitious or at the very least more willing to ignore their superstitions than the average Westerosi smallfolk.

Does he think the peasants would be more amiable to being checked over by a wizard if they think it means a chance of gaining magic powers?

Nah, most peasants are scared when someone looks a little weird. Like even just having green skin, not doing anything strange. "Must be a demon" or something, or "cursed" I guess if they are acting too normal to justify their hatred of the unknown any other way.

You really got to smack them in the face with their ignorance to get them to behave. They aren't incapable of learning but the worst part of dealing with the small folk in Westeros is that they like the status quo just the way it is, and having a doctor's checkup with a wizard is just too different for them to ever be comfortable with.

It's different than living in a city, out in the country you probably won't ever leave your little podunk village and meet people from different parts of the world, but at least on the coast you have lots of merchants from far off lands, foreign influences, etc.

Sorcerer's Deep has a reputation of being inured to magical stuff, but the reason they adapt so well is because everyone going there has heard the stories, so they're all the people most willing to put up with weirdness out of every demographic group who hears about them and decides to move there.

What's with this sudden influx of newcomers?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see more of people participating. But, this day of all day?

Bah, it's Monday. Nothing makes sense in Mondays.

I have been reading for years man, slowly catching up while reading all the discussions, chapters, interludes, plans and votes. It was a glorious journy seeing mc grow from a poor low-level character to a true dragon in his own right, managing an epic empire that grows every day. Today just happened to be the day I caught up, indeed nothing makes sense on Mondays.

Well, welcome aboard on our glorious Vessel then :D. Hope that you'll have fun as much as we do in this madfest.

Nature of the Drunken God: From the accounts of his servants Zagreus is a very generous god and one little concerned with games of power. He seeks above all else to encourage self-reflection and understanding through the removal of social constraints that 'blind' one to the truth of the world and of the self. Thus both murder and the enthrallment of others are abhorrent to Him. 'Do as Thee Will, Bind Thee None' appears to be the creed of the Drunken God himself. Alas many of his gifts, ecstasy and freedom also make one more easily bound, just as one might be slaved to the bottle from seeking within only a dulling of pain or loss, or more pertinently for this report, as one might be driven into unwise deeds while intoxicated.
Alright...

In theory... In theory!!!
If the Drunken God can help us empower the Well of Eternity further... we may just talk to Maenades.
In spite of them having been sitting in a dark corner for over a month, waiting for us to meet them, apparently.
:V

Question is, should we?

Because honestly, the thing inspires even less trust in me than R'hlor, even if it's "freedom"-themed aspects would clash with Timmie's.

That, and he apparently despises murder, and we would have that aplenty when dealing with GC.
No such thing as redemption for most of them, I say.

@everyone, speaking to Drunken God and trying to have him join the Well-of-Eternity-gang - Yay or Nay?

Pros:
[] We have more weight to throw at Timmie.
[] Probably won't inform her of our plan even if refuses, given the info we got from Maenads about him abhoring her kind of Tyranny is true.

Cons:
[] May refuse or attempt to sabotage, we don't really know him well enough.
[] Abhors killing so will be hard to work that angle with.

A bit better than Blind God at least, that guy we probably shouldn't even try.

OTOH we are mostly erring on the "Save" side of "Slay" in regards to Aegon because he got played by Tiamat and we know how that feel be.

And pissing in Tia-chan's cereal to the maximum overkill smug trollish degree of "I just stole TWO of your high priests, bitch!" is totally us.

But the rest of the Golden Company? Tiamat deliberately fostered the most back-stabbing-est bunch of treacherous fucktards she could and that is apparently her whole modus operandi, because she's been snorting Abyssal Cocaine since prehistory. Even one of her Dreamer priestesses realized she was a goddamn demon coke-fiend.

I'm sure a lot of them are genuinely loyal to Aegon, but it has to be a minority. Tiamat has the guy on a short leash I'd imagine and is the jealous sort. Probably made that aspect of their relationship, "I rule, not you, you just get to say the words" pretty fucking obvious, which might have been around the time Aegon realized he bought a bad bargain.

re: Drunken Doofus, say thee NAY.

The other Gods we have some standing relationship with, have traded favors with, or even have some transactions with. We have basically gotten them hitched to our wagon before bothering them with our rather insane and yet cunning plan. They're invested in it working.

I don't know Dionysus in this setting. We haven't done anything with him except murder some of his hijacked minions.

That's the extent of our relationship--your sole play on the Prime Material was to get suborned by a madman and we had to clean up your mess. It's going to take a little more effort on both our parts before we have anything resembling a working relationship.

Side note, we are at over 1900 HD in sacrifices we can freely throw at OGs to empower WoE, and that's without any Research/Recruitment-worthy subjects.

With some ultra-rapid summoning on motorcycles, we can outdo the 1.000ft-tall tree we have in SD, for this tiny trinket.
It had 2187.95 HD

Would be worth it too, as OGs would face Timmie in most categories, and would have to hold off all on their own in several including Magic.

IC, Viserys expressed it'd be a bit sad if F!Aegon does, but Timmie being hurt is more of a priority.

Yes, saving them would be preferable...
But also a huge hassle of diplomancing around, what with us likely killing their True Father (like fuck is Illyrio getting alive out of this, I say), and most of the people they know (because GC, duh).
Anu is alive tho. Yey?

I don't hold much hope for us succeeding in turning them, and if they get all the power we tear from Timmie and keep a grudge against us...
Suboptimal doesn't even begin to describe that.

Fair enough, but if we aren't doing that, then I have no interest in going back to Maenads now, having forgotten them for over a month IC. They are quite irrelevant at this point.

I'm not saying no Drunken God period, but yeah he's not a priority. We do need to deal with him to avoid a repeat of our last situation where we didn't keep an eye on what was going on with him until we threw people at the problem to make it go away.

I wonder if Syrax is fuming right now.

In spite of our "gotta get all the Gods on this"-attitude, we haven't resurrected her via a Fleshcrafted body yet.

I bet she'd "planned" for us to drop her at Timmie with this God-ball.
:V

Shit, how do we placate her then? Make her a body and be done with it?

I don't want a god to go full-on Tzeentch on us.

We haven't because she said to take care of #15 value meal first. To not stoke the Doom.

Make her a level 1 body with a lot of templates and massive level adjust. That should do it. If we need to at all in the first place.
