The devil replicant thing raises a lore question for me. Devils can lie, but are also bound by contracts and agreements right?

Do they get some sort of out on stuff they sign while undercover?

If we tried to get someone who was actually a devil in hiding to sign an agreement that conflicted with prior oaths, would they be physically incapable of doing so?

Would they be bound to the terms of a contract made under false pretenses that didn't contradict anything else they'd agreed to?

Let's say we had a diabolic spy pretending to be a merchant. If they were dumb enough to sign a contract on sourcing alchemical reagents without an escape clause, for example, would they be compelled to fulfill it even if their cover was broken?
That is probaply covered somewhere in the First Pact.
Good luck trying to get permission to read from the owner.

Such is the thing's will and skill at spellcraft that it is able to ground and dissipate your spell as you cast it, but alas for it, you are not alone. Lya's spell binds it in a prison of amber, almost as though it had itself become a mindless idol.

Okay, I'm a heppy man now.

Don't care whatever else happens now, this is one less threat to contend with during the Reconquest.

Although, I would like to question it for True Names, and any schemes it knows of before feeding it to Yss.
Would the best snek be okay with a bit of wait on thatm @DragonParadox?
or maybe telling us all that himself, after eating the thing?

He is fine with the latter, he can just drop the information in the flesh-crafters he will re-shape anyway, it's not actually greater effort on his part.

So, this is what Ymeri has specifically for senses:
Flamesense (Ex) Ymeri can sense the presence and movement of any fire—including creatures with the fire subtype, creatures on fire, and any creature touching the surface of the Plane of Fire—within 300 feet as if using blindsight. In addition, she can see through fire, fog, and smoke without penalty.

I expect we'd get a lesser version though.
That means Efreeti and most of their minions can't hide at all from our sight, which is nice.

We still need to pull as much of a Willsave as we can with that, and hopefully we'll get more than pre-set bonus DP decided here.
I wanna smash Ymeri in the face and grab her purse.

@Goldfish, you mind writing up a buff-plan with the stuff I posted in PMs?
I completely suck at action-economy :/

Yay!
We get all the weird shit the Advodaza knew too!
The day keeps getting better so far :V

@DragonParadox, last I checked, I think the Staff of Ages should still have 20 charges. We've only used it for a doubled major curse once since it was last recharged, IIRC.

We sort of have the senses already, if what Artemis posted is accurate. Can see through cloud-like obstructions, got blindsense. Yet worse if a lesser version is obtained. Perhaps 'Mind' might lead to better shenanigans, skill points or narrative bonii or such sundry.

Stuck on my phone at work, and don't really have time. Action economy doesn't really matter out of combat. Can you just link the list of spells and buffs?

@DragonParadox, can you give us a better idea of what each option does if we select it?

We are not hitting Ymeri herself here, merely a Herald invested with some power, as far as I understand.
It's like eating a Rakshasa Raksha, that wouldn't harm the Bloodstone Emperor either.

for he had filled the Snare with some strange alchmical concoction that blinded even your senses.
...Called it.
Like, literally, I asked before if we should install ventillation for gases in the Snare, as somethign agaisnt LoS-blocking effects.
--[X] Also make sure to be ready to act against any effects that may block line of sight - like a smoke bomb, for example.
---[X] Have the casting Companions circled around the Snare's summoning circle, so as to ensure more easily keeping her under fire even if she somehow leaves the circle; or puts up a LoS-blocking effect.

@DragonParadox, could you include all the summons I've PMs to you in the chapter, so that we can have seen them on-screen?

Thoughts on maximum possible Willsave, edition 2.0:

Viserys' 'base' Willsave = 24 + 5 (Dany's Persistomancy, Morale) + 6 (Channel Vigor - Spirit, Competence) +1d6 (Mythic Surge) = 35+1d6 'base' will save.

Surge of Fortune (discharged prematurely, allows nat 20) = +20.
Grand Destiny (consuming 1/4 charges)= +4.
Moment of Greatness (doubling bonus from Dany's Persistomancy) = +5.

Total momentarily avaliable Willsave: 64+1d6. (Nat 20 taken).

Additional effects:
> Nine Lives + Alter Fortune by an ally = 2 rerolls on a fail (changing the enemy's result more likely, since nat 20).
> Mindblank (Immunity to all mind-affecting spells and effects)
> Plant Body (Immunity to all mind-affecting spells and effects)

Further Willsave increase available via:
[] Ruin Delver's Fortune (equal to Charisma modifier) + 12 Luck - we can have Dany turn fate until we get good duration on this.
[] Item of Calm Mind, (ML 15) = +10 untyped
[] Moment of Prescience (equal to CL) = +23 Insight
Total possible Willsave: 109 99+1d6, 2 rerolls avaliable, Mindblank and Plant Body giving mind-affecting Immunity.

We got a chance at hitting her when we ate the tree - sp we should try it now as well, I say.
THe Herald is undeniably more connected to her than that tree.

The chance to get something great, and safety of over-buffing and Yss, makes it worth it imo.

5000 XP is enough to delevel Viserys, BTW, y'all. He is slightly less than 4000 XP into 18th level.

@DragonParadox, I don't recall XP being awarded for our fights in Vialisk.

Since DP is out and I don't have the foggiest about how he calculates XP rewards usually, I will just say that Viserys won't de-level from this.

Sweet.

Can you give us more of an idea of what each reward entails? Senses is some variant of Flamesense, of course, but what are the others?

... @Azel then, but just so we're clear - here we are having a guaranteed reward from the Herald, and whatever we get through rolls by striking at Ymeri herself, right?

This upgrade is better be fucking worth it, @everyone. We are essentialy spending a Miracle with all that XP, and we can ourselves a Feat like that already.

We could always avoid XP expenditure and go for a random reward from this, though there's a good shot at disappointment if we do that.

I won't disclose the details of what can be gotten here, but what I will confirm is that spending XP ensures that you get something rather shiny while just rolling the dice might indeed result in lesser rewards.

We are using up the remains of Mythic cr20+ Fey, while helped by a God to digest them safely enough.
I'm pretty sure it would be more-or-less worth the expidenture.

I just want to try striking at Ymeri again. Really much so.

Side note, I am actually thinking about going "Will" here.

Flamesense is all fine and well, but taking every opportunity at making Viserys stronger mentally is but common sense when we are going to butt heads with BS!Emperor eventually, and all the other bullshit entities in the meantime.

...I kinda really want to steal some 16-18 CR Rakshasa from under him, that Maharaja was a godsend in that regard.
It is too bad we went for the weakest possible one as a test... although he's proven quite loyal and useful so far.

It might not be something to improve the willsave.

Ymeri also has an ability that allows her to use Hold Monster (or if they fail a save high enough Dominate Monster) on any nearby fire type creatures.
That's a good candidate for Will in my guess.
