Can a Brainstealer dragon be a Ulitharid? I mean it's just the body the larvae attached to is a dragon right? So what if it was a Ulitharid Larvae?
I greatly look forward to an Ulitharid Brainstealer Dragon.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the Deep Ones will capture one of the three Valyrian Dragons the Lannisters have.

I think that the deep ones probably wouldn't stop at just taking the dragons if they got that far into the Lannisters' defenses. It'd probably be pretty awful for that whole region if the Lannisters got replaced with illithid muppets.

However, they probably had plenty of opportunities to try Ulitharid-ing brine dragons before the fled the PoW. Some of them might have made it to the plane of balance.

...the dumb bitch basically did this with the artifacts she stole from Relath, didn't she?

Is that stupidity tax in motion?
Pretty much what I was assuming yeah. Either that or she did the Dragon thing of adding the shiny to the pile and sleeping on it. I always figures that's where more Brainstealer Dragons came from than the idea Illithids caught them alive for it.

Dragons be derp when it comes to dangerous shinies basically.

That said it is pretty likely there is a Brainstealer here now. That reject spawn had to come form somewhere. My guess is the thing doesnt have any contact with the Deep Ones and its spawned a bunch off the other deep one types. Relath might honestly be a bit relieved he lost that treasure by the end of this. Well if he isnt an idiot anyway.

No see, the sheer irony of all of this is that the she-dragon was absolutely correct in that it was way too dangerous for the likes of Relath who had problems with nearly getting mind-controlled and body-jacked by Deep Ones himself, and SHE GETS FUCKING BODY-JACKED BY DEEP ONES after claiming she was "more responsible than the foolish youngling".

Talk about dropping the idiot ball.

So what do you guys wanna do after this one? Anything else in the Plane of Water? Still wanna see if the other cities are taking magic item orders. But if you wanna fluff the order we already gave as coming from everywhere maybe move on? How many days has it been in the Plane anyway?

We need to visit the Githzerai next. We have a big commissioned order to pick up, more psionic stuff to commission, and we need to talk with them about arranging further alliances with more monasteries.

Would be neat if we could arrange some training/light adventuring for Jeyne with them, too.

EDIT: We arrived here on the 5th of the month, so two weeks ago. IRL, we headed to Vialisk two weeks ago as of Tuesday, IIRC.

We are pretty done with PoW.
We have some important Minor Actions we haven't done yet, and ~10 days isn't all that much.

We still have to visit Gith, Djinn and Shaitan though, yes.
We'll be visiting PoW for a short visit next month anyway, probably.

@DragonParadox, here's my proposal for an upgraded Umbral Spy Construct, with nine additional HD, the Advanced template, and a slightly modified Enlightened Construct template.

For the modified template, I removed the Phrenic Stone feature since it's Incorporeal, and swapped the Telekinesis and Dimensional Lock SLAs for Invisibility and Greater Invisibility, which are lower level, but more appropriate to the Construct's role. The remaining SLAs are quite thematic and fitting, IMO. Justification for Lya being able to use the template without casting Wish or Awaken Construct would be here familiarity with soul-crafting and the Lifespark Gem's bonus, plus those requirements are from Pathfinder, which doesn't require XP for either spell. From my calculations, adding 9 HD and the Enlightened Construct template should raise the price to 8,850 IM. With the Advanced template added, would a round 10,000 IM be sufficient?

@Deliste, @Everyone, this is my take on a much more advanced version of the
Umbral Spy Construct. We're already using six of the baseline models in the field. The Umbral Stalker isn't just a much better spy, able to go more places with much greater ability to hide and gather information, but it also makes a pretty damned good assassin in a pinch. I was thinking about assigning it to Bloodraven to use as he sees fit, or maybe to Malarys or whoever we have running ops in Slaver's Bay.

It would also make a very good bodyguard, since it can bond to a friendly target just as easily as an enemy, then provide them with the full benefit of it's various abilities.

Artificial Soul (Su): Though not the true soul of a living creature, the Enlightened Construct's artificial soul provides it with a unique personality and a spark of sentience. Unlike most Constructs, the Enlightened Construct is not immune to necromantic effects. Enlightened Constructs are still immune to Death Effects and they cannot be Raised or Resurrected.

Succeptible to Mind-Affecting Effects (Ex): An Enlightened Construct is susceptible to Mind-Affecting effects, even though it is a Construct. Although they can be magically charmed or compelled, Enlightened Constructs are particularly resistant to enchantments and receive a +4 bonus on Will saves to resist these effects.

Telepathy (Su): Umbral Stalkers can communicate Telepathically with any creature who speaks one of its known languages, provided they are within 100 feet. The Umbral Stalker also detects the presence of any creature with an Intelligence attribute of 1 or more, as if using Blindsense, and perceives several observable characteristics about each detected being, including the being's type and Intelligence score.

Lifesense (Su): Umbral Stalkers notice and locate living creatures within 60 feet, just as if it possessed the Blindsight ability.

Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): 12th Caster Level: 7/Day: Mind thrust V (DC 20), 3/Day: Dimension Door, Greater Invisibility, Invisibility, Mindlink, Mind probe (DC 20), 1/Day: Mental block (DC 17)

Hide in Plain Sight (Ex): In any area darker than bright illumination, an Umbral Stalker can use the Hide skill even when being observed.

Thought Link (Su): An Umbral Stalker can trasmit any of its memories telepathically to any creature that has an Intelligence of 3 or more within 10 feet that has the bone left over from its creation. It cannot use this ability while bonded with its Shadow Bond ability.

Shadow Bond (Su): As a Standard Action, the Umbral Stalker can attempt to bind with the shadow of a Small-size or larger corporeal creature. In order to do so, the creature must be within an area of normal or bright light and the Umbral Stalker must in the adjacent square to the creature, opposite from the source of light. The targeted creature then makes a DC 25 Will save (DC = 10 + 1/2 HD + CHA). If the creature fails, the Umbral Stalker is now bound to the creature's shadow. It is no longer considered a separate creature. It follows the target creature wherever it goes, senses anything target creature senses, and understands anything said within earshot, provided that the Umbral Stalker, not the targeted creature, knows the language.

The target creature never realizes it has been targeted, even if it makes its saving throw. The target creature gets a new saving throw every 24 hours to make the Umbral Stalker leave his shadow, although the Umbral Stalker can leave on its own as a Free Action, materializing in an adjacent square, opposite of a light source. While an Umbral Stalker is attached to a creature's shadow, it cannot be detected without a thorough examination via True Seeing or a similar effect. Since True Seeing does not see through clothing, the Umbral Stalker is often safely hidden from a casual examination with True Seeing. An Umbral Stalker cannot attack, be attacked, or otherwise be targeted separately from the targeted creature in a physical manner while bonded. The Umbral Stalker is considered incoporeal and in the same square as the targeted creature.

I like it but the loss of immunities makes discovery quite a bit more likely, Umbral Spies rely on denying line of sight by hiding under clothing etc and that worked great against even True Sight but now detect thoughts will show they exist.

You would have to make everything ghost touch. So a +3 equivalent ability to weapons and armor.

So this is out?

@Goldfish
From Savage Species

GHOST TOUCH EQUIPMENT Just as magic armor, shields, and weapons can be imbued with the ghost touch special ability, so can rings, rods, staffs, wands, wondrous items, and any permanent magic items. Once specially enchanted, these items can be picked up, moved, carried, or worn by incorporeal creatures at any time. However, this process does not grant these magic items the ability to affect corporeal or incorporeal targets, other than whatever effect the item normally provides. Caster Level: 9th; Prerequisites: Appropriate item creation feat for item type, plane shift; Market Price: Increase item cost by 10%.

I will very happily pay a 10% markup to kit these things out properly.

Edit:

So:
Hide Bonii - To Hide
Cha Bonii - For better Save DC
Comprehend Languages - Because they can only report what they understand.
Bugout Option - Because they do in fact need to report, capture is a threat to our information as well as our little buddies.

Nope, that's not a concern. Detect Thoughts is a Divination spell, not a Mind-Affecting one. The Umbral Stalker will be just as immune as an Umbral Spy, once it is bonded to a target.

Acute Senses (Ex)
Plant-imbued creatures can instantly sense anything within 60 feet; they cannot be flanked or surprised and gain Improved Uncanny Dodge as if they possessed rogue levels equal to their Hit Dice. They can also detect invisible foes or opponents in heavy fog or other obscuring conditions allowing them to strike without any miss chance.

Woodland Stride (Ex)
Plant-imbued creatures can move through any sort of undergrowth at their full movement rate without taking any penalties or suffering any damage. Magical enchantments designed to impede movement still affect them.

Shadow Blend (Su)
In any conditions other than full daylight, a shadow creature can disappear into the shadows, giving it total concealment. Artificial illumination, even a light or continual flame spell, does not negate this ability, but a daylight spell will.

Evasion (Ex)
As the class feature of the Rogue class.
Different focus though, more a low-level helper for the Inquisition and Lawmen.

Actually, for what I was thinking, the single +1800 IM tax might be preferable. I want to take a Mind Blank ring and add several effects to it, mainly some attribute boosts, Resistance and Hide bonuses, and some limited spell abilities. Better to do that all at once and pay 1800 IM.

Aww, damn, I wish I had remembered those when we were making our huge Forge order last week.

Gotta remember these for next month. Kitties!
