Here's what I have so far for Teana's level up. This level in Shadowcraft Mage lets her use Silent Image + Heighten Spell to mimic the effects of the various Shadow Conjuration/Evocation spells, but better, because her version is much more effective if successfully disbelieved. That gives her an opportunity to retrain a couple spells in addition to learning new ones.

Heart of Earth is one of our go to spells for anyone capable of casting it, and one I'm sure Teana would appreciate given her desire to not die. Same goes for Celerity. Greater Invisibility would be great, too, but she already knows the regular Invisibility spell and can get by with scrolls should she need to.

Mirage Arcana is a neat utility spell, especially for Teana who has a sky high save DC for her Illusion spells. It's also a great training aid for her students, since she can use it to create virtually any scenario for them to practice within.

Friend to Foe is a pure combat spell, one that can really fuck up a lot of enemies in a nice sized area.

There are a ton of options for her new 6th level spell, from classics like Disintegrate to those more up her alley such as Permanent Image. I was thinking about something with a bit more utility, though, which would fit to her role as an instructor. Ruby Ray of Reversal, for example, is helpful for any number of situations and could get a lot of use in the Shadow Tower undoing student mistakes. Baleful Teleport's utility is unquestionable, but I can't get past the thought of Teana using it to send unruly students to time out.

I also thought about maybe having her learn Telethapy and retrain her Blood Warding feat to Mindsight. Not only is it an amazing combo in and out of combat, it would give her even more of an air of omniscience within the Shadow Tower.

Thoughts and suggestions?

@DragonParadox, I really hope the corpse doesn't dissolve on us. I was hoping to:

1. Make a trophy out of it, of course
2. Parade it in front of everyone important in Volantis as a "this is what the Imperium will protect you from" kind of thing, along with solidifying the unifying symbol of everyone seeing Viserys walk with Zherys and Benerro by his side
3. Preserve its corpse for study and insight into how to make powerful Fey given that we'll be checking on the Fey Forge soon, and more insight on how to make powerful Fire Outsiders

Ironically I believe CR 23 is the strongest thing we've killed so far.

Aspect of Mammon -- CR 21
Maharaja Rakshasa -- CR 20
Mythic Ancient Wight Lord -- CR 18
Oblivion -- CR 20
Mythic Cornugon -- CR 20
Asurendra Asura -- CR 20

Somehow a freaking Fey beat out all the Fiends and Void-tainted we've faced.

As a note I do want to hunt down and take the body of that Efreeti that we captured. I don't know if we can summon the damn thing to us but I am fairly certain that if we use the soul gem we could divine the bodies location via divination beacon and wreck his shit.

If it leaves any sort of remains, I'm expecting some sort of crystal core or something similar. Maybe a skull?
Not while she's with us but when she's using her body doubles it's not very difficult to just dump it on a powerful foe and wait.
Unfortunately, her Shadow-Traces cannot cast spells of their own. Also trying for more utility and punch from her limited spell selection. Teana won't be able to learn Blood Wish or Ancestral Awakening, so what spells she has need to be as useful as possible in as many situations as possible. She has plenty of offensive spells to work with, IMO.

I would have been happier if we had caught it but its remains will be an interesting study nonetheless. Also Rina for the win. We didn't get to do a "witness me" moment but that was cool enough.
Getting trophies out of high CR enemies has been a huge help in me making peace with not being able to turtle everything we fight. :V

And yeah, Rina was pure win in this. I wonder if she's earned a levelup.

Nah, she's more than 14,000 XP from leveling up. She actually just leveled up a few days ago.

Interlude DCV: A Secret Upon the Tongue
A Secret Upon the Tongue

Sixth Day of the Eleventh Month 293 AC

Amrelath glanced at the spell-script writ in his own blood, to remind himself of the needed arcane formula. It was a strange thing, this grimoire, closer than he would have ever have imagined bearing to the slow studied magics of men who needed to patch together their power from scraps. Yet he had learned much in the passing of the years in death and these brief frantic moonturns since he had returned to the skies whole and living. There was much use to be found in truly great mortals, though how to tell one from another he could not say with any surety yet. It was akin to wading through a stream-bed and trying to guess through the ripple of the waters which of the pebbles were in fact uncut jewels.

"What've you got?" the young flesh-smith asked as she cleaned the fetid corpse-blood off her pale god-forged staff. The bloated corpses that dragged themselves ashore in the night to attack them had not, of course, been a threat, but rather a clue that they had the right current beneath their wings, though it did beg the question of just what had driven the dead to rise from their rest, besides the paltry mortal lifespan that made the bones of men all too eager to jump to the call of even the most inept necromancer.

"Patience, young one, I am not reading tomorrow's weather in a handful of chicken bones," the Dragon proclaimed before intoning the spell to make the voices of the True Dreams grow louder. He snapped one of the corpses' bones with a swift twist of his wrist so that he might observe the fracture patterns. All magic was the imposition of order upon chaos, but it often left patterns beyond the intent of the power that birthed it, like wet footprints in the sand.

The marrow is still fresh... interesting. Moistening a finger with the red liquid, he brought it to the tip of his tongue. Bitter of course, faintly poisonous as most things involving the living dead were, though nothing to threaten his constitution, but there was something else there, metallic, but also not something precious, something rare.

As the answer came to him the Dragon looked around for the local chief, king, or whatever else his kindred were calling him. He looked more wary than usual for some reason. "Are there any stony vales near this place, where large zargh..." He bit his tongue on the draconic word that would mean nothing to the man. How did one even say 'metamorphic stone' in the tongue of these lands? Did they even have any notion of how stone would transform over time by the workings of fire currents or simply the titanic pressures of the deep earth? "Are there any deep and stony vales near this place were your folk may once have prospected for precious stones?"

"As the songs of the Crab Men go there were all sorts of things traded through Hardhome—furs, timber, wine, and copper, to hear some tales there was practically honey and wine flowing through the gutters, but precious stones..." He trailed off, tapping a rhythm with his foot to some song only he knew. "Eyes like jade, brighter than emeralds, from the sunrise lands..."

"Yes, that," the dragon hissed somewhat impressed. Perhaps this man did have the wisdom to rule his fellows, under a suitable overlord at least. "The bones of the dead carried an echo of jade likely wrought of sympathetic magic."

"I know can seek the substance with my magic," the voice of the two-headed serpent sorcerer echoed through Amrelath's mind, subtle and sure as ever.

Alas that there were no easy answers. There was no jade, polished or raw, within the ruins of Hardhome though they searched through every crevice and ruin, so they decided instead to follow the source. Though finding a lost mine that had not been in use for centuries would be no easy task, Amrelath was certain that his keen eyes could pick it out.

OOC: Not a very long update, but I think worthwhile to show Amrelath putting more than his combat skills to use. The undead they destroyed were ghouls, nothing special, just another 16 HD for the Forge.

I have a question. My only dnd knowledge comes from this quest so I don't know much of the mechanics, how much CR does Viserys have?

First, understand that CR is a rough abstraction, something that any halfway decent DM quickly learns to use as guideline in support of intuition and nothing more.

Second, consider that action economy is a bitch; Viserys, alone, can be disabled and killed off in a fairly large number of ways against foes that are prepared enough - simply because such have a rather larger pool of actions to pull off shenanigans.

Third, the actual question; While I'd have to run the numbers (there's a formula for it), off the cuff I'd place such at around CR 25 or so.

Post Script: Challenge Rating also adresses raw combat capability and not say, tactical/strategic thinking, ability to call on allies, Viserys simply running away if outmatched and so many other options available. Further complicating the issue, his possession of 'I do anything I want' magic, that does in fact, does most everything he wants. Hard to math that.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

Ah, Amrelath, you're truly a strange wyrm in a strange land, surrounded by hairless talking apes. Fantasy land Dragon problems... :p

I've been looking through Pathfinder's alchemical stuff and I found one that might be of use for Legions.
Vapors of easy breath
Source Alchemy Manual pg. 25
Price 75 gp; Weight 3 lbs.
Category Alchemical Remedies
Description
This waxy ball of resin and herbs is stored in a large glass jar or other airtight container. When the jar is opened, it instantly evaporates into a soothing vapor that renders the lungs of any adjacent creatures resistant to inhaled poisons, diseases, and irritants such as choking smoke. Each creature within 5 feet of the jar when it is opened gains a +5 alchemical bonus on saving throws against such effects for the next 10 minutes. If already affected by an airborne affliction, an affected creature can immediately attempt another saving throw against the effect (with the +5 bonus); a creature can attempt only one such additional saving throw in a 24-hour period.
Alchemical Recipe
Recipe (60 myrrh + 50 salt + 60 ginger extract)/congelation; Craft 25
Time 10 minutes; Tools alchemist's lab; Type alchemical remedy
Why?

Because I resised that apparently we don't even have anything resembling gasmasks for Legions.

Fighting Daemons? Instant fail with them breathing all sorts of nasty shite on em.
Same for many nature-related things with spores, Illithids with nasty stuff...

And even plain smoke of a burning land/city.

@DragonParadox, does our engeneering understanding as a state yet achieve heights needed to make something like these en-mass?
Gas Mask
This is mask that covers the mouth and nose, with two small protruding cylinders on the chin line, lateral of mouth. It has the capacity for attachments as noted below. When worn, the subject becomes immune to all alchemical items, diseases, and poison's that require inhalation. It takes a full round action to don and remove.
Filters must be replaced after three days of exposure. After the three days, divide all negative inhalation effect DCs by two. A pair of filters cost 25gp.
Gas Masks are not sturdy devices. They have a hardness of 2 and 5 hit points. Additionally gas masks are weak to acid, cold, and fire.
Source.
More to the point, @Goldfish, would we be able to set up production of at least "1 per Legioner", economically?
Maybe adding the filtres as a basis to all helmets?

CR 16? As an 18th level human Sorcerer with two Mythic Tiers and his gear, I would peg him at CR 19 myself.
Honestly, all the gear is about 1-2 CR all by itself, and 2 MRs translate to 1 CR iirc.
I'd say Viserys is clean CR20 even before his "Dragonness" is taken into account.
