Post Script: If she can't file in triplicate, she's little league.

*silver mirror cube drop*

She planned to bring the kid back to life, and more to the point not only is she not a vassal quite yet, she's also not in our lands, and thus isn't beholden to our laws.

EDIT: To illustrate this, it'd be like hiring Darleth and then getting mad if he doesn't obey our laws during a job where he's not in our lands.
It was the excitement that got me honestly.

Not sure what to tell you other than we're allowed to be excited. No permanent harm was done here, and Melisandre just got a vital key to ridding Harrenhal of Harren the Ghost King. And on top of that the kid qualifies as a potential PC when he's brought back to life.

Fair enough I suppose.

Death=bad is fairly hard wired and I guess I ha a reaction.

Hey, could someone lend me a hand and find that oooooold action to look for Blind God's temples?
I'm compiling something, but this piece of shit keeps evading me, as if I don't have enough to scour through already >_<

Sorry at work so not very active right now, but this just seems a bit too casual for child murder is all. I mean discounting all the age old discussions about deaths revolving door here.

There are two ways this works out assuming either Mel and the rest survive or if they don't we find out about the kid IC. She calls him and he either refuses to be brought back to life by the witch that manipulated him in the forest to sacrifice him or he does and the lvl 2 or 3 peasant boy gets a permanent level loss.

So perma-death or Crippled even with the resurrection rulings in this game. All in all was just expecting some other reaction to a hired hand performing a bit of child murder in the course of a job we hired them for.

Duesal actually addressed most of these concerns.

It's the ruthlessness.

It explains why she did it, not why we'd be fine with it or why there isnt atleast some in thread reaction. Kind feels a little jarring is all.

Also you guys saying if we send Darleth on a research action on the wall and he decides to see what would happen if he smears a couple child brains on the rocks we would be fine with it as long as he resurrected them afterwords?

Given that Mell plans to use him as a guide you can assume he establsihed it so that the boy is still well disposed to her as a ghost.

To be completely honest, yes, it does.
For me, though, not at all because she killed a kid with little explanation or preparation on-screen.

But rather, I am troubled by her clear fanaticism, and just how strong it is.
I am completely with @Artemis1992 here, she's R'hlor's PC, not ours... and may not ever be :/
I'm not sure we can trust her beyond "Go there, purge with fire"-kind of tasks, now.

Yes. If they knew what they were getting into and there was an intention of bringing them back to life after their services were complete, there would be nothing wrong with that.

She's a cleric. Not a concept cleric like the others we've got, an actual cleric. What do you expect?

@Duesal, or anyone else - some halp, please:
What sorts of targets on PoF do we have left as part of us acting in Alliance efforts? I can remember but two:
1) Char-serpent(s)
2) Reagents-gathering Convoy of Sultan's Visier.
..?
Were there more things to do with Salamanders..?

OK, headache's finally gone.
I'm readying a new one for ya :V

Trading one deeply concerning and upsetting attitude in for a different deeply concerning and upsetting attitude.

Classic.

I'm not upset with Mel, I'm actually impressed with her, but there is a reason I haven't tried to push for us to gear her up like we did Thoros. She is an ally, barely, and a resource we can exploit, but she is not a trusted associate and likely never will be.

But that's fine. Not every powerful individual has to be in our direct sphere of influence. We just can't hesitate to eliminate her if she steps out of bounds.

1. Char-serpents
2. The ship with reagents for the Grand Vizier of the Brazen Throne
3. Aiding the rebel Salamander Kingdoms by striking at their rivals
4. Negotiating with the Lich King Salamander and potentially allying with him against the Brazen Throne

afterworkds? Got the impression she didnt inform the kid she was gonna kill him though. She just diplo and bluffed some shepherd boy in the woods to follow her and then offed him to use his blood. Anyway forget it, I gotta get back to work.
