Will the ground shake? All I want to know is if an earthquake (a minor one) will occur?
Mostly joking.Viserys does not strike me as someone who fights devils for fun
@Snowfire, are you intending to show us sacrifice directly?. If so, um, max social buffs? Also, @DragonParadox, for reasoning/story-consistency, if we are showing this, you might need to edit this line in the preceding chapter somewhat:
"guests you had called here to see a part of the festival you do not wish to share directly with the whole of your lands. It would not do to spread too widely the sheer power of blood magic."
SF: Potentially make mention of the Daemons in Tyrosh also? (Unless you have already decided not to).
[but the sense is a vague one at most] <- This has exciting implications to me.
It's why I viewed the pointy chair as a chain way back when.Mostly joking.
But would he really be content to just conquer the world with no Outsider opposition?
Or to rule it once conquered without the knowledge that there are great threats our there?
Sounds boring to me.

Huh...We're about to grow a tree the size of Nodrassil.

If that doesn't do it the Old God's massive, spite fueled, schadenfreude-tastic Viagra boner certainly will.
There's getting a present and then there's getting shot up with a mixture of crystal meth, crack, ground up Chaos Emeralds, and two hundred gallons of Old School cocaine filled Coca Cola.
While it's a Zomok I'm tempted to take it hunting every now and then. I'm hoping that everything it eats counts as a sacrifice to the Old Gods.Well we have incentive to turn the Zomok into a full green dragon later. Though a bit redundant considering, you know, the companions but hey the Old Gods can use a green dragon to... fuck someone's day up when we can't? It is a guardian but I am sure they will use it for other purposes.

Right now, as a Zomok it will be location bound, if I understood that right.
@Snowfire
I really like most of that.
Just doubling down with Tree Stride and Master Earth for someone who already has both Teleports seems questionable.
Replace one if them maybe?
Also I think given what we are creating here a Call of the Twilight Defender would be very thematic, though not overly impressive next to Vee's other summons.
Of the two, keep the Tree Stride. It's far too thematic to let go, and it'll be useful in the Long Night.Ah, right. Suggestions to replace it? I could just go with Commune with Nature like Viserys' staff has, but I'm not sure that fits.

Blasts Aberration with good damage and blocks all their SUs and SLAs from use.
Blasts Outsiders with less damage and blocks some of their abilities.
Has various lesser effects against other unnatural targets.
I wonder how many Septons, Lannisters, or just plain "Loyalists" in Westeros are going to have a heart attack when they see a goddamn tree rising over the horizon.
I'm actually having a hard time fighting down the giggles.
Nine months past, I stood before those that were then my only people, and told them that we would stand amongst the strife of broken houses and failed kings as a beacon of unity.
Also Notre-Dame Cathedral is on fire in Paris - the roof is utterly fucked (just fell in as I wrote this post!),
"That clearly means somebody else."And then they get the transcript of the speech we made before raising it. Please note the following with care:

That's fine, it just means that our attack will be even more of a surprise."That clearly means somebody else."
Never underestimate the human capacity for self-delusion.

How that can be possible when we're controlling about half of the upper echelons of government while also keeping the head of state alive and fighting regular attempts of said state from imploding in on itself in an incestuous orgy of violence and anarchy is hard to imagine, but I'll be damned if we won't pull it off anyway.
