We happen to have dirt on him, and he's already a prince in the Court of Stars which inherently makes him valuable.
Wait? The Court doesn't know we have him?
I thought the Court knows his deeds (and so I expected the Court to exile him/ give him to the Tyrells at some point).

If he can keep operating good point, but I still have doubts about his competence/character.

Ok, what exactly is your issue with him?
He's a fairy version of all the worst Westerosi lords we want to expunge.

I mean sure. But why this guy?? We could grab any random fairy and get it to swear on us on pain of death/"opportunity to raise". I don't see what makes him valuable.
It's pretty clear that your objection purely stems from not liking the guy, and yeah - that's fair. He's an asshole. Doesn't make him any less useful, or the worst being we've inducted to our service.

I'm honestly not sure where you drew that conclusion, or why you're tossing around 'we.'

@DragonParadox, can we put in an order to have Relath buy a few hundred Hippocampi for us? They're CR 1, so they'd cost 450 IM each, but at the same time they'd be very useful for our Tritons and all our undersea operations (like our upcoming war with the Deep Ones).

He's a useful pile of meat.
Ok. Well now that I can live with.

Let's go down the rabbit hole.

I mean it also lights all my paranoia sensors, if I were a GM that guy would be prime opportunity to fuck with the players, like having to rescue him from the depths of Baator ..or getting immediately arrested by Tyrells. ..or executed by the Court.

I'm honestly not sure where you drew that conclusion, or why you're tossing around 'we.'
Uh err.. I assumed treating your peasants like slaves, is something we all agreed to disgreed with.

He was dealing with devils, he was incompetent (at least at court), he was a disloyal vassal to his liege who doesn't seem like a really bad one, AND he was basically a slaver asshole on his peasants.

Yes, the thread agrees that we don't want Westerosi (or Essosi) lords like him.
Still, he is a useful tool for now.

I wouldn't even consider wasting research time on this issue. It's a non-issue, actually. If the space is needed to Teleport, Lya can Bottle it or leave it behind temporarily. She has several Smoky Confinement scrolls in her personal stockpile right now.

And when we get them for all the party members or are doing a teleport and strike insertion and Lya does not have time to release it?

If this is a Lya only thing I agree it is non issue (teleport strikes not included), if it is a party wide thing, the bottling starts to outweigh the utility of the tattoos.

But w/e we have word of DP that we can make them viable for more than one party member later, so we can see how it plays out and research this if it becomes relevant

Wait, it's even worse than what I just wrote! He was enslaving someone else's peasants!

Remember how everyone hates the Pentoshi bondsman system? Well forcing people into a quasi-slavery state is basically that, but worse because it involves using Hell.

Sure he can mange that, though the tritons are just as likely to buy them themselves.
And I encourage them to do so, but I want our own herd of Hippocampi for the Royal Stables that are explicitly owned by us.
Some Magical Beasts of potential interest:
If the Arya ever get really good in magic I could see a much better companion than a Direwolf: Amarok – d20PFSRD
A reference to Red Riding Hood most likely, but I prefer to see it as a fully realized Sir Bearington: Bad Wolf – d20PFSRD
Decent Mount: Buraq – d20PFSRD
Potentially great mount: Kirin – d20PFSRD
Mini-Coatl??? Uraeus – d20PFSRD
I would love a Kirin. As for the Uraeus, they'd probably be hanging around the Rhoyne.

Of course, but I'm unsure why you view him as a caricature of a nasty Westerosi Lord? He seems more like a prime example of Fae callousness, albeit his drive to institute actual change - if self motivated - is highly atypical.

Westerosi peasants aren't actually slaves and aren't treated like them. There are abuses of power by the ruling class, of course, but that's hardly something specific to them.

@Goldfish, what do you think about making a few Rune Guardian – d20PFSRD

They are basically command items that activate themselves each round.
At 650 IM each, they are much too expensive.

Lesser False Ravens are only 25 IM each, Greater versions are 200 IM, and Elemental Wyrmlings are 500. Beetle Bombs are 250 IM each.

For CR 1 Constructs, they are 20 times too expensive, IMO.

Enough, Beren had spat, I'll do it myself!
Dont think I didn't notice.
"There needs be no strife between mortal and deathless fey, but peace and understanding," you offer earnestly, for truth and crafted script converge. "The mortals I can reach, or for those madmen and fanatics who will not be moved remove them from the board entirely, but it is harder by far to reach the fey. Many more are there in the Court of Stars I would wager who chaff under the chains binding them, willing to take out their frustrations on mortals, or hurting them not from malice, but simple obliviousness. I ask that you bring them to my side in shadow and in secret, the lords and princes none the wiser..."

"That would be war thou would pledge me to, a battle by stealth and trickery," he counters, suddenly seeming such surer of his footing.

"So then I am at war with every being to whom I do not proclaim my intentions from the rooftops?" you scoff. "Tis peace not war I seek, and any blood will be on the hands of those who shed it." It is not the fey alone who live by their tale. Your own hangs like a shadow upon your every word, a feather upon the scales of fate. Sometimes a feather is enough.
-> Tasks him with subverting someone else's subjects.
-> Not a war of subterfuge.

We are now being willfully blind. If someone was doing this to us, we'd be absolutely fucking pissed and certainly take it as a declaration of intent.

That, or very naive.

Unless you want to leverage fey technicality. But that's a road we don't want to follow as far as that'd take us.

They are basically using the pricing formula of magic items.

Command item:
CL x SL x 180 IM

Rune Guardian:
CL (3) x SL (1) x 200 IM + 50 IM = 650 IM

It's more a question if we can find worthwhile spells for them. Though a CL 1 Magic Missile Turret for 250 IM would be spiffy.

@Duesal, why don't we plan a visit to the City of Splendid Waves to see what the Marids can offer? Aside from seeing what their money looks like, underwater trees.

Underwater Weirwoods, magpie. Underwater Weirwoods.

Far too many plates in the air. I wanted to, believe me, but there's a reason I asked if Relath could serve as our proxy instead of us going there ourselves.

EDIT: I mean, we could also task Relath with getting us a bunch of underwater trees.
