I really hope they give us a reasonable price for directly teaching Lya about the anti-god wards, how they work, and how to make them.

I want to combine the anti-god wards and Runecrafting V when we eventually reach that stage, as well as any kind of Valyrian ward magic we stumble across. It's been my dream for years in this quest.

As for the reason I'm asking after an Unravelling -- Garin still owes a pact with R'hllor. This is our "if all else fails" clause. Or it would be if we actually got an Unravelling without needing to part with anyone's shadow.

  • [X] Agree, it is a fair bargain
-[X] Most likely a remnant of the Empire of Dawn, tell him what you know of the history, though make it clear that this history has been distorted by short-lived humans over many millennia, so historical knowledge is not very reliable
-[X] You know they are now Rakshasa, immortal reincarnating fiends, and that they have build a city in a border-region between this world and the plane of shadows.
--[X] These Rakshasa range, as most kinds of fiends do, from lesser creatures to god-like entities.
-[X] Warn him of trying to find out more in too direct ways -- our attempt to summon the most minor kind of fiend for knowledge has still brought us direct attention from their Emperor and a concentrated attempt to rip out our soul. Make very clear the kind of monster the Bloodstone Emperor is.
-[X] If the Orphne Court would like more in-depth information, the Rakshasa we summoned was freed and is now our vassal, and can provide said information for a fair price for a duration of time set by him/as long as he wishes to answer. // It should be clear we're not in any way bargaining away Tor's vassalage, just in case I'm accidentally wandering towards that pitfall.
-[X] Separately, inquire about the price to buy back the piece of your shadow that you sold to the Orphne Court, or if they've sold it off at least the means to contact and bargain with whoever has it now
-[X] Provided Viserys sees nothing wrong in asking, ask if the Orphne would be willing to sell another Unravelling and at what price
--[X] Also ask if the Orphne are willing to bargain to directly teach Lya the nature of their anti-god wards, how they work, and how to make them -- as well as listing the price said bargain would carry

@Azel I've done a formalized write-up of the Royce Alchemical Works for you to add to the Imperial Infrastructure page.

I'm hoping we'll get another good crop of Hedge Mages from the Scholarium this month so we can add at least four more production facilities to the Works.

Royce Alchemical Works:
Each production facility is set up to produce only a single Alchemical substance and cannot be used to produce anything but that substance. The large-scale process requires a full month to go from unrefined reagents to finished substance.
  • It costs 30,000 IM and requires a month to construct and equip a production facility, requires a minimum of 60 workers trained to perform their particular tasks, and a manager with a Craft(Alchemy) skill rank of 8 or higher.
  • A production facility can be retooled to produce a different Alchemical substance at a cost of 5,000 IM, a process typically requiring two weeks. During this time the workers are also trained in their new tasks.
  • Eighteen Hedge Mages are tasked with managing the twelve production facilities, with periods of work staggered so that each is able to take time off every month.
  • Each worker will earn a wage of 7 IM per month and each Hedge Mage manager will earn a wage of 80 IM per month, for a combined labor cost of 6,480 per month (420 IM per production facility plus 1,440 for Hedge Mage project managers).
The Royce Alchemical Works is situated near Everfire Dale.
  • Each facility is a separate building specially designed for safety and durability, as well as security and defense.
  • They are part of a larger complex meant to be expanded in the future with additional production facilities, as needed.
  • A central management office contains a Statue of Magecraft (+5 Competence bonus to Crafting checks) and Statue of Crafter's Fortune (+5 Luck bonus to Crafting checks) which every worker and manager will use each day before starting their shift.
Production Facilities:
  • Facility #1: Explosive Packs (450 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #2: Alchemist's Fire (2,700 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #3: Sleep-Smoke (3,600 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #4: Healing Salve (2,160 per month, Not For Sale)
  • Facility #5: Allnight (960 per month)
  • Facility #6: Alchemist's Kindness (72,000 per month)
  • Facility #7: Night Tea (720,000 per month)
  • Facility #8: Liquid Ice (2,250 per month)
  • Facility #9: Antiplague (1,800 per month) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #10: Explosive Packs (450 per month, Not For Sale) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #11: Vermin Repellent (14,400 per month) - Begins production in 9th month
  • Facility #12: Healing Salve (2,160 per month) - Begins production in 9th month

@Goldfish - are there requirements for the hedge mage managers/workers?
The workers are just Commoners with on the job training (maybe the equivalent of Craft(Alchemy) 1 or 2) and assistance from the magical statues we made to enhance our crafters. The Hedge Mages just need to be 5th level or higher to meet the requirement to have a Craft(Alchemy) rank of eight or higher. The write-up specifies 18 Hedge Mages, but at the moment we only have 17 of 5th or 6th level. That's enough to run the 12 facilities and we're guaranteed to get more at the end of the month, though the number of them is still in question.

Do we know when the Mammon corpse fungal pod(s) come online? I really want the poison that he had or at least a weaker version of it. Seems like something very useful...especially against some PCs. Really it is too bad that PCs dont try to escape when fighting us. Would make poisons more useful.

I want that poison somehow mixed with Magebane poison.

Magebane is nasty. Losing access to their highest prepared spells...if used against us then say good bye to Shadow of the Doom. And Mammons poison is pure Con damage and a DC 30? That would be a nasty combo
I've been desperate to:

1) Actually brew magebane poison, and with the fungal pods we'll have a good shot at it
2) Use it against an enemy. I'm curious about pulling it off against Others.

The real Others appear more like Abberations, with that whole "incomprehensible monsters stuck outside of reality" thing that we saw in Volantis.
@DragonParadox, if we capture a genuine Other, is there a sacrifice modifier for them beyond Cold Subtype or Undead or Fey or Caster? Considering these are the Old Gods' single greatest enemies...
DC 20 isn't that hard to overcome though from what I remember. Unless Tyene has something to mess with that too.
Tyene's got a lot of tricks thanks to her PrC, which we've unfortunately never used.
-Insight: She gains Poison Immunity at level 2. At level 9, she is able to add her Wisdom modifier to the DC of any poison she manufactures herself.
That's a modifier of +7, btw. And if we put her research into it we could probably improve the poison, too.

No, they just count as Cold Undead Fey Spell-casters which is the largest accumulated bonus you guys can get outside of unique champions and such.
Still something to look forward to. :D

By the way @DragonParadox, what's Alysande's reading on the local fey courts and how they're doing with the Braavosi?

EDIT: Also confirmation that they're Undead and Fey at the same time! :o

Cold (50%) + Undead (40%) + Fey (30%) + Caster (25%) = +145%

Holy shit.

Imagine the unlikely even where one of these becomes a willing sacrifice.

... a sudden question appears: did we already task ShadowTor with writing a book? "City of Shadows - a Primer".

Makes sense we get the biggest bonus from the OG for genuine Others.
