I can't figure out how to possibly get the Fae to yield on this. Bloodraven suggests kinship but that is obviously not going to work to get them to respect the law, because our nobles are already going to struggle against our laws and arranging alliances with Fae will only increase our problems there, linking 2 groups who'll oppose us.

Connecting them to the world so they can't flee is all well and good, except I can't figure out how to do that. They'd probably have to do it to themselves after all, and why would they? It seems easier to have 83 mobile groups guarding the 83 entrances to the feywild than dealing with this crap.

Frankly, what else are they expecting?

Our offer is "you accept the full obligations of the law of the realm and in return get it's full protection and can live and work as equals in it's borders".

Being bluntly told they are equals to beings whose lifespans they might outlast in a light nap is likely probably will not be seen well. To give a comparison Amrelath certainly does not see himself as equal under the law with a mortal (though Viserys might see him thus), he sees himself as a vassal of a great and oddly generous dragon lord with an unusual affinity for petty wingless creatures.

This is why he suggested Small Folk over nobles.

They're beings of magic and grace! They expect privilege! Exceptions! Being above the law!
Instead, the best they'll get is a few years of delegated rule before we roll in.
If they honestly expect preferential treatment, we will have to attack this notion in particular with our propaganda efforts and take a few skulls to reinforce the message.

They are not getting that. One law for everyone to live and die under.

Amrelath doesn't deliberate proliferate disinformation about this, either. Because he recognizes that the root from which law is enforced, is military force/personal might.

If the Fey do not understand this basic concept that Amrelath does with ease, how can we get them to compromise on this, to us, very deliberately basic issue?

I see. Then we will have to let the Legion do some arguing on that front.

Amrelath is reliable because he knows better than to argue this with us, no matter what he might believe. He'll get himself the privileges that he believes are his due by using the power he possesses on our behalf, as is expected of a vassal. The fae will interfere for the fun of it and run away when consequences rear their heads, because they're not willing to work for what they want.

They do, to an extent, the trick will be getting that point across without insulting so many of them as to cause outright war

The red caps and other predatory fey in the vale would be a good target to begin with probably.

Can we beat them so much, for so long that the stories become that the only result of opposing The Dragon King is an end to their tales and defeat?

Viserys, The-End-Of-Stories. :p

Edit: Not really being serious. It just reminded me of another quest.

Well. That sounds workable.

We start spreading stories with Fey who are amicable and wishing to co-exist with mortals as the good guys and those who wish to lord over mortals as the always trounced or redeemed villains.

Then we start a extermination campaign on the latter group.

It's not like there's a competing plan though.
I'm on Regime Quest (and you should be too), and last vote had three voters. It's just starting, but it's quite good!

@Azel
I think we could at least try for a soft sell (while sharpening the blades and stocking up Cold Iron of course).

Ultimatly it's very likely that many Fey will, under complete technical equality of law, still end up lording over the mortals around them.
Because they have the skills and magic that comes with being high-CR creatures and almost all mages and otherworldly beings that have a basic advantage like that over humans have somehow managed to translate that into power or wealth in our lands.

If we could sell them that technical equality before the law (which they have to agree to) will not mean any other kind of equality (as seen IRL and in this game with ease) they might be more amendable.
Entrepeneur Fey is not the worst outcome.

We need to remember to start stockpiling Cold Iron.

Funny thing, that.

The Efreeti have a habit of selling off Cold Iron by the ton. Maybe another raid on their lovely Turtle Ships is in order?

It's a two-for-one deal! We get the adamantine plating and we get whatever cargo they carry! :D
So we only have three votes...We may need more.

We basically just need to trudge through the intel. No way to streamline this since DP wants to write it out.

After Westeros, we can toss Pycelle to Bloodraven, then we can move on to Essos and off the plane, then we can leave.

To be honest Uncle Bloodraven tells the best stories. None of that fairy tale nonsense. His stories are raw, impactful and involve annihilating our enemies. Although maybe we should give him access to the Inquisition. I wonder what he can do with that kind of power.

@DragonParadox can we get an interlude with Ysilla and thingy helping Glyra at the festival?

Edit: not now, just at some point?

Sure, sounds interesting.

For now however vote closed.

  • [X] Westeros Intel 5.0
-[X] Ask of great secrets among the Westerosi that Varys is aware of (like the "royal" children's true parentage, but it doesn't need to be of the same importance)
-[X] Get a full update on everything he knows that's going on in King's Landing
    -[X] OFFER ASSISTANCE TO BLOODRAVEN
--[X] Ask what Bloodraven has been up to.
---[X] To start, does he have any plans he'd like help on? We've already got two of his stronger assets -- Danar Crowl and Alyssa Grafton -- as permanent residents of Sorcerer's Deep. We can provide teleportation and firepower if the mission is important enough.
---[X] Ask for the names and locations of the various septons Bloodraven has been cultivating so that you can possibly plan for them later on.
--[X] We are allies with the Shaitan and the Djinn now, so if there's ever a magic item that Bloodraven needs for his operations he can ask us so long as it's not cripplingly expensive (tens or even hundreds of thousands of IM is fine if the purpose is important enough, though a million would be too expensive)
--[X] Ask if Bloodraven would like any more plant-creatures crafted to serve his purposes
--[X] We will gladly work as a go-between if he wants to leverage our Westerosi allies, Doran, Brune, Monford and the Royces, for something. Or the Inquisition resources we are starting to build up.
--[X] Ask him where he thinks Inquisition bases would be the most useful for our shared goals. Our current bucket list is Darry (friendly lord, major crossroad), Oldtown (focal point of various other factions), Whiteharbor (best connected area in the North), and the Dornish March (important crossroad in Reach, Stormlands and Dorne politics, giving us some insights in their movements and we want to be greatly entrenched there in preparation for the invasion). 2-3 bases in the Westerlands would be great. Crackclaw Point and Dragonstone would be other good targets, though mostly for invasion prep. Maybe Runestone if the intrigue attacks on the Royces keep up.
    -[X] THE DEEP ONES
--[X] Ask where Varys and Bloodraven know they've been operating, who they've been fighting, who they've subverted, what their goals are perceived to be, etc.
--[X] Update Bloodraven on your contact with the Lantern-Bearers and their new conflict with the Citadel
--[X] Does Bloodraven or Varys know the locations of any relics or champions of the Deep Ones? The Sistermen, for example, concerningly are said to have webbed fingers.
--[X] Update Bloodraven on the fact that Rodrick the Reader has unofficially sworn fealty to you and will be working with you against the Deep Ones
    -[X] THE OTHERS
--[X] Ask if Bloodraven or Varys have managed to discover any nests of the Others or the Winterborn south of the Wall
--[X] Ask if they know the locations of any relics or champions
--[X] Ask for updated intel from Beyond the Wall -- are the giants ready to be approached yet? Also, you heard very concerning news about wildlings in Hardhome. What's going on there?
    -[X] LOOT AND MAPS
--[X] In short, any and all intel of Westeros which we would consider useful should be gathered here
---[X] Especially loot, tell us all about the loot we'd want to know about
----[X] How many Valyrian Dragon eggs in Westeros is Varys aware of, and where are they?
----[X] Does he know where the Royce ancestral Valyrian Steel blade is?
--[X] Take your Map of Westeros, as well as the individual maps of each of the Seven Kingdoms (Map of the North, Map of the Vale, Map of the Riverlands, Map of the Stormlands, Map of the Westerlands, Map of the Iron Islands, Map of the Crownlands, Map of the Reach, Map of Dorne), and have Bloodraven scan through Varys' mind, then update the maps to include the locations of supernatural creatures that Varys is aware of, like fey courts, local monstrous humanoids, openings to the Underdark, lairs of Winterborn servants, etc., everything that Varys has heard about and kept track of, along with updating them with whatever intel Bloodraven may be willing to share.
--[X] Ask Bloodraven to scan Varys' mind and make you a full Map of the Red Keep, complete with secret tunnels, hidden chambers, etc.
--[X] Ask Bloodraven to make a Map of King's Landing using Varys' intelligence.
---[X] If he is worried about the information being divined, these particular maps will always be under our Mind Blank and will be stored in our cloak unless we're personally using them.
--[X] Ask Bloodraven to update your Legendary Map of the Far North
--[X] Can Bloodraven do us a favor and point us to the adamantine mine wherever it may be near Dyre Den? If we're told where it is we can tell Lord Brune where to start mining and help him diversify his income.
