That isn't the problem. The problem is that there is one king and he sits on the Iron Throne. If we start handing out crowns then we turn back on the basis of rule the Aegon the Conqueror and the Targaryen had. One land, one king. Hell even the fucking Martells, who married into Westeros, are only "princes" not kings. It would be insane to allow this. We keep it under lock and key and maybe use it if it is good.
If we had found the crown first it would be one thing, but the Tyrells found it first, walking up to them and taking it, seems like a worse idea than just letting them have it, with the understanding that it's just another magical artifact, not a mark of them being royalty.

Close range.
We can't protect the guests from here.

You cast it on the enemy.

You seal the life force within the target, preventing it from sharing its vitality with others. Affected creatures can't transfer damage to or from another, such as through shield other, a spiritualist's life bond, or a summoner's life link. Effects such as vampiric touch that steal vitality from others deal damage normally, but provide no benefits.

This spell functions as sealed life, except it additionally provides the benefits of death ward and renders its targets immune to effects that extract or transfer its soul, such as possession and trap the soul. This spell prevents a soul from returning to its body if it has already departed, until the spell's duration expires.

They were hunting it specifically for it being the mark of royalty. If they manage to get it somehow in spite of Theon and Asha's timely interference, they won't be keeping it after our conquest.

[X] Plan TNE
-[X] Ask Mereth what's going on upstairs.
--[X] If nothing is on fire, nobody dying from a failing ritual, or things otherwise going down, ask how he subverted this place once hallowed to the Many-Faced God.
---[X] See if you can make m monologue about his evil plans. They love to do that, don't they? Watch out for him buying time, however.
--[X] If the victims are in imminent danger or things are otherwise going down, attack.
---[X] Have an Avoral use its True Seeing to detect shenanigans, while they other readies an action to attack him if he casts a spell.
---[X] Transform into HHD and draw Dark Sister, use a swift action (due Spellsurge) to cast Dragon's Roar. If need be, use your move action to get into 15ft so he's in melee range.

Well that's your opinion at least, personally I would prefer just to treat it as a family heirloom, unless they try to use it to claim royal status.

You mean 15d4+15?

Yeah, the MMs sounds good.

I want them to check with their True seeing tho, and I'd avoid throwing single target stuff that could bounce back.

So I say use a standard action to transform into HHD and a swift action to Roar, and if need be use a move until we are within melee range.

Spell Combat will do us well as we are alone, but still buffed. We get five attacks with +3 Atk and damage due Righteous Wrath. Is our Scabbard of Keen Edges done yet?
The Scabbards are on the schedule, but we've only had the Crafters for a few days at this point. Wouldn't really make sense for Viserys to have one yet.

The Avorals require a full round of concentration to activate their True Seeing?

People will see it as a symbol of royalty. It is a crown. It is what would happen if the last Karling found and wore the Iron Crown of Lombardy. The king wouldn't see it as just some trinket. It is a symbol of a country. There was significance to Aegon taking the crowns of other kings as much as when the last King in the North placed the crown onto Aegon's feet.

It's a crown, and not just any crown but the crown of the Gardener Kings of old. You know who in Westeros is going to see it as just an old family heirloom rather than a symbol of royalty? Nobody. Because everyone knows what a crown is supposed to represent.

EDIT: And it's not even their family heirloom, to boot. A bunch of other houses of the Reach have a far better claim on it. Not for nothing do they see the Tyrells as upjumped stewards.

As to why I insisted Dark Sister is awesome, we get:

Dark Sister +33/+33/+28/+23/+18 (3d8+18/19-20 x2)

And a standard action spell. And our swift action, which with Spellsurge up just happens to also be a spell.

A free full attack is a great thing.

If it is seen as symbolic, as a crown, wouldn't that be far more trouble for them, with Bobby and the Blondes, than with or for us?
At least for the time to come.

Let them raise that ugly issue, we can later solve it.

I see absolutely zero reason to let the Tyrells claim a probably artifact crown.

That thing is ours and the Redwyne ships too if they are uppity about this.

The update sounded to me as if they were planning to cut a deal with the Tyrells, that involved the Tyrells taking the crown, and them getting a favorable share of the rest.
Also, I just reread the update.

Asha and Theon are there to recover the crown for us in the first place.

It's sounding a lot more like they're planning on giving the Tyrells a consolation prize of the other trinkets and then telling them to get lost.

You know, a really great place for salvage in general with be Shipbreaker Bay since countless ships litter it's bottom and magic would help protect salvagers from from hazards.

Just need to wait till we have claim over Stormlands to do it safely.
