I can't speak for everyone else, but this is an explicitly magical problem in addition to being in a situation where I don't quite understand what's going on. Thus, I'm just waiting for a vote from somebody who knows the system and has a good plan, @Azel. I don't think Artemis' plan is a good idea and believe there's more to the situation we need to discover, so I believe we need to find a way to efficiently communicate with the lady. Also, we still need to find the real villain, people, the mission ain't over.

That was an honest question. I'm getting the feeling nobody actually cares about this arc except me, since every other vote, there is either a bandwagon for me or a bandwagon for throwing a few spells at the manse and going home to do something else.
I'll be completely honest, I have as little care for this as possible.
I'm glad you and others are having fun, but this... this is just not my thing, so I largely ignored these chapters altogether.

I saw a plan that has us turtle a demon and question it.
And as an avid turtlemancer I took it as no other votes were present.
:/

@Azel @Artemis1992 What if we used Unconscious Agenda to convince the Demon to return to its master? Since it cannot Teleport, it would be forced to fly or walk.

Considering the duration of a Status spell, they're probably nearby. We could follow it easily.

OK, so there are definite issues. Please speak up on stuff like this so I can at least try to address the disengagement. Really, criticism is more than welcome.

What can we hope to gain by going further with the intrigue? I love intrigue, but I don't see what we want out of this situation anymore.
That is kind of my issue too. As I've said earlier, once we got the report from Leto, all of this here became rather pointless. Jarlar is nice to have, the girl utterly inconsequential beyond having given her our word to get her out of this and... that's about it.

My plan had been to get the only two people we somewhat cared about (Jarlar and Jeanna) off the grounds and then to start digging the organizer out of the rubble. But now we are kinda stuck protecting two VIPs, are bleeding spells like mad and apparently there is actually noteworthy opposition around.

Stop this.
Like, right now.

Your writing is fine, I just have little to no care for this kind of intrigue and subterfuge some other posters do.
I can enjoy the results it brings, but not the actual process.

Just a personal preference, I hope you can understand.

[X] When the Demon returns, use Wild Arcana to duplicate the effects of an Unconscious Agenda spell on it as a Swift Action. The implanted compulsion will be to immediately seek out its master, walking or flying as necessary to reach them.
-[X] While waiting for the Demon to return, carefully inspect the lady of the house for signs of enchantment, magical paraphernalia, or other mystical items or substances, then check closely examine the room in which you found her.

OK, fair enough but my point stands for anyone else who feels like there is something wrong with the structure or presentation of the arc.

The problem here is that continuing the actual mystery plot is becoming pointless as we never started caring that much about most of the guests, and there isn't any material reward being offered either.

Fact is if we don't flip the board right now we need to talk to the Lady, try and parse what she tells us into useful info, then go off and talk to someone else, maybe try and catch another ghost, and eventually we'll get pointed in the direction of where the guy behind all of this is hiding (i'm calling a hidden basement with leadlined walls, myself).

And I guess everyone would really rather get the information that's right there, in the head of that demon.

Hide your valuables! And your brains!

I for one never cared about rescuing maidens and the political value of all participants in this is... pretty much zero.

Hence me not caring about these people at all.
