An excellent future minion for Hermetia.

By the way, @DragonParadox, is Hermetia aware that she's first in line for ruling as our Archon of Lys?

And if so, does she have a manse picked out to confiscate from the Lyseni and subsequently use as her own?

Your plans. I like the idea of appointing a competent local like Jarlar, just to show that loyalty to us isn't pointless.
I'd be amazed if Hermetia refused an offer to travel the world or even work for us off-Plane.

Also Hermetia's ambitions, let's not forget that. But that said, we have been considering Hermetia for the position for ages now, and time and again she's proven she has the grit and street smarts to actually pull it off.

It sounds nice, but being the main pillar of support for the archon is plenty prestigious as well.

The traveling could be done no matter what her job is. She can just poke at the Companions and ask for someone to teleport her somewhere (I believe she's important enough that she could ask this so long as her request isn't trivial), she can arrange passage other ways, etc. Same for working off plane, that'd likely be part of her job anyway.

But when it comes down to it?

We've known Hermetia for months and we trust her implicitly.

We literally just met Jarlar in truth and had our first real conversation with him.

I know who I'm going to vote for.

Rather than naming a single governor, what if we instead appointed a ruling council? Each would have separate responsibilities, but would all be charged with enforcing our policies.

One to represent those nobles we deem worthy of living, another elected by the muggle citizenry, and one meant to serve as an interface between Lya and the greater Imperium.

It could be Jarlar, random Lyseni citizen #35,159, and Hermetia.

You are pretty much describing the council system here. Which we already have.

Also, Hermetia is free to take Jarlar as her second in command and to act as regent whenever she is away.

... @Goldfish, please tell me that we have Anu the Warforged crafting via Dedicated Wright while he's poking at the Living Brass? I'm getting the sinking feeling that we forgot about him.

Actually we don't. At least not yet.

@DragonParadox I assume Anu has Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Construct, and Scribe Scroll? Anything else, such as, Craft Wand, Extraordinary Artisan, or Magical Artisan?

Yeah, I got a bit of a panicked feeling when I realized. We've had him for weeks and we didn't get him started yet. :(

I think it's safe to assume that he has Craft Wondrous Item (we were told that he taught his Tiamat-cultist students how to make magic items) and Craft Construct (he's trying to make Warforged, and he made some weird mouse thing in the process of making Warforged).

He does not have Craft magical arms and armor but does have Craft Wand.
Hmm, Wands...

So many good possibilities!

What do ya'll think of making a lot of Wands of Ray of Stupidity? 1d4+1 points of Intelligence damage might not seem like much, but there are a lot of enemies out there that are really stupid, after all, and reducing their Intelligence attribute to 0 effectively renders them comatose.

@DragonParadox can I just say that I'm really enjoying this investigative/occult arc, where we're not really able to just AD:AI through it all without killing people we might actually want to keep alive. It's engaging and really quite neat.
@TotallyNotEvil your fix is on its way :p
